so I have noticed in the hannibal fandom and in all the alana, bedelia, and freddie haters, how there’s a bigggg double standard when it comes to judging the behavior of women characters, cause why are u telling me you love will’s manipulation but bedelia’s (which is way less) you hate? also, why are people mad cause alana was mean to hannibal in prison??? THE MAN MANIPULATED HER, FEED HER PEOPLE, BETRAYED HER AND CONSTANTLY THREATENED TO KILL HER FAMILY, and don’t get me wrong, I love hannibal also, and will, my point is:

Why do (some) people in the hannibal fandom seem to love and enjoy and justify the behavior in men characters, but hate the same behavior in women characters? One of the points in the show is to see how diverse a human being can be, how they can transform and evolve and to question our ethics and morals, so what’s up with that?

HI!!! I’ve been missing a lot from here because of uni and work BUT on the plus side, I’ve been reading all of the red dragon - silence of the lambs - hannibal novels (rn i’m starting hannibal rising), and watching the original movies, which is something I wanted to do for a long time, because I wanted a better comprehension of the characters i already love, which is working very well, when i’m finished with the novels I would love to watch hannibal (nbc) again and see how my perception of the series changes, so when i’m done I will be sharing here! (very excited)

I get the femenization and the bottom thing, but I always get curious about fics or posts that imply he wasn’t getting hannibal’s metaphors and tricky confessions! or that he was truly sick of it and the intellectualization of hannibal, like he was dumb when this guy was so fucking smart and could talk in metaphors for DAYS and the whole point was that he thrived on that! and the whole “evil” state of mind
