It surprised her that Stephen still seemed to hold out some hope. Could he really find her universe without any real frame of reference? He seemed to know more about trans-dimensional travel and multiple universes theory than she did, but the chances were slim and she knew it.
She watched him perform his magic, as if he had come out out of a fairy tale book, just waving his hands around and making things float as if it were as easy as breathing. She followed him with her eyes and watched him walk past her armchair. She sat on her knees on the chair and turned around, peeking from the back of the armchair. What was he doing?
She lifted her arm and shot some web to the ceiling. She shot herself up and then lowered herself down to Stephen’s level, upside down and holding herself in place with her feet together, “Wait, what exactly are you going to do with that paper?”
He was not surprised at all as she jumped to the ceiling, used to seeing all sort of unbelievable things. This was just a normal day at work. He would do his best to keep their reality safe, and right now this means to find that lady’s home universe. At least she seemed more than willing to be helped, unluckily some other people;
“Well, if we are going to jump from universe to universe we better start drawing a map, or we might get even more lost.” - he moved his right hand over the paper, creating a little circle in the middle of it, as if it had been burned down. - “So, that is us right now.”
