I don't keep close track of my followers, especially on the sideblogs, so I may not notice immediately (or at all) if you unfollow or softblock me. Your best option to cut contact is to hardblock me and any sideblogs you were interacting with. I won't ask questions. ⭒ response time: If you're not comfortable waiting on replies, I'm not the partner for you. Replies run entirely on queue, and it may take me weeks or months to get back to something. The queue is currently posting twice a day, and it's typically a month or two out at minimum. Don't pressure me for replies, and don't feel rushed getting things back to me. I don't have a time limit on when it's been too long to answer a thread. ⭒ interactions: If I follow first, I'll toss some memes or answer an open to get things going. If you follow first (sideblogs included), it's up to you to initiate interactions. ♢ preferences ♢ ⭒ connections: I'm happy to write with canons, AUs, fandom crossovers, duplicates, etc. I only write with OCs who have active threads with mine. I don't enforce people writing with my female muses, just know I'll notice and silently judge you if I write with yours and you ignore mine. ⭒ blacklist: I prefer not to write with underage muses, real-life/celebrity muses, or animated/illustrated/cartoon muses, though I'll make an exception for some comics. My only blacklisted faceclaims are those that have been convicted of violent crimes. ⭒ shipping: I'm good with a slow burn, and I'm equally good to jump right into the middle of shipping/smut and establish as we go. I'm totally fine with it if shipping/smut is all you're here for. ⭒ exclusives: I do not do mains, exclusives, or affiliates. If you choose to tag me as one, understand that I will not be tagging back or managing my blogs any differently. Please don't treat me like a main and rely on me for all your connections. the only censorship we need is the block, mute and filter option because giving others the power to dictate what can and cannot exist in fandom will eventually lead to banning all nsfw works or even slightly but nuanced ‘problematic’ topics. ​I block and move on because I don’t want to see certain things but to erase them completely is a dangerous slope to having things you like be banned eventually.

The trench shook like it was trying to tear itself apart. Dirt rained down in choking sheets, the air thick with smoke and cordite and the sharp, coppery taste of fear. Bucky crouched low in the foxhole, shoulders burning, ears ringing so badly the world felt underwater. He fired, ducked, reloaded—again and again—each motion drilled so deep into him it happened without thought. Somewhere out there men were shouting, dying, calling for medics who couldn’t reach them. Somewhere out there was Steve. Or maybe there wasn’t. Bucky didn’t let himself finish that thought.

His hands trembled as he leaned up just enough to fire again, jaw clenched hard enough to ache. Just a little longer, he told himself. Hold the line. Don’t stop. The rifle kicked once more—and then didn’t. A hollow, traitorous click. Empty.

For a heartbeat, panic flared white-hot in his chest. No bullets. No cover. No backup. He dropped back into the mud, breath tearing in and out of him as he stared up at the smoke-choked sky, waiting for the moment everything went dark. He thought, absurdly, of Brooklyn. Of laughter. Of promises made before the world learned how to burn.

A shadow fell across him.

Bucky blinked, rain streaking through grime on his lashes, and focused. Standing at the edge of the foxhole—untouched by mud or fire—was a man in a strange gold suit, gleaming faintly through the smoke, like he’d stepped out of a different future entirely.

Ian had spent years searching for his Steve and had finally come to the conclusion that he might never find him. There were infinite dimensions out there with potentially infinite Steves, and combing each timeline for the point where his adopted dad was abducted to Zola's world took time, even for someone who'd mastered time travel. He doubted there was a person in the world who understood the workings of the infinite elevator as well as he did, not even Zola who he assumed had created it.

It was by no means boring work though. Steve's life was fascinating, and every timeline he observed, there were echoes of the stories his dad had told him growing up. Stories of the Howlies and the Avengers and SHIELD and most of all of Bucky Barnes, his best friend. Ian had dreamed of meeting those people all his life. Now, the irony was that he could watch them all and yet never interact with them, a normal life still just out reach.

But was it really? He'd already had a couple run-ins with the Time Variance Authority. As far as he could tell, their rules were arbitrary and borderline fascist, and he was Steve Rogers' kid through and through. He'd managed to stay ahead of them thus far, usually by not drawing attention to himself. Ian only had the rules he'd made for himself not to interfere until he found the right Steve. This wasn't it. He was already sure of that. There were too many differences in the stories already. But there were similarities too, and he was abruptly tired of watching the same things play out again and again. He was tired of watching Bucky Barnes die, or worse.

It was pure Rogers impulsiveness that had him leaping from the elevator. His brothers from another dimension (long story) had helped him design the navy and gold supersuit, not unlike the ones Steve had worn and drawn for him growing up, durable enough to withstand the perils of time travel. His dad's old shield, repainted, was gripped firmly in one hand. The other was outstretched toward Bucky. "Come with me if you want to live." Okay, maybe he'd watched a few too many movies with James and Ellie.
