i have not posted on this account for a while because life happened but i am still watching asian dramas! the last 2026 kdrama that i finished was my royal nemesis and god i am obsessed!! that wrist kiss lives in my mind rent free

and i am so glad heo nam jun is finally in the spotlight!! i watched him in a hundred memories which i managed to finish this year as well but that drama was kind of a mess due to scriptwriting choices but he was hot in that drama as well!!

and also im jiyeon is such a queen! she is an amazing actress who constantly takes on versatile roles and i love her for that

I have so many thoughts about When Life Gives You Tangerines but firstly, I wanna talk about Aesun

She is incredibly smart and ambitious. She has dreams of becoming a poet but living in poverty, in the countryside, in the patriarchal society is a big challenge. That was the reality of so many women. Not being able to achieve your dreams because money doesn't fall from sky and patriarchy can't disappear. Her being a young mom and having to live with in-laws is not what she dreamed about (of course, she is lucky to have Gwangsik by her side who loves her unconditionally) but that kind of life was not what she would choose; in an ideal world, she would have become a poet and then start a family with him

That's why she wants her daughter to live a much better life, to have a chance to get education and be independent

Aesun's fate is heartbreaking after all because it represents a whole generation of women who had to sacrifice all their aspirations and just be wives and moms 💔

i am so in love with when life gives you tangerines ❤ it's an emotional and complex drama and iu, park bogum and the rest of the cast did amazing in the first four episodes

i am glad that soo many people are watching and commenting on social media

some dramas i finished this month

1. What Comes After Love; what a beautiful love story! this one is made for us literature lovers; it is slow but so deep and character driven; the acting and the cinematography were phenomenal

2. Begin Again- a cdrama about people chasing their goals while trying to live their best life, and find love in others and themselves; it is only 18 episodes but they are all so meaningful

3. Remembrance of Things Past- a cdrama about adults trying to survive in the big city; it is a female centric drama with beautifully written friendships ❤ i love this drama so much

4. Drifting away- a crime cdrama, very intense and graphic but very good; zhao jinmai is a great actress

dying at song mo in episode 30, the country is about to be in chaos, everyone wants power and there he is being jealous and thinking the crown prince likes dou zhao lol

i just love how song mo looks at dou zhao in EVERY single scene li yun rui is so expressive with his eyes and i lovee that

you can just see how song mo is completely in awe of his wife; he loves her so much and he is also in awe of how much SHE loves him because obviously he did not think he deserves to be loved ahh i adore them

when it comes to chinese historicals (the type that blossom is, i do not watch anything that involves men in beard doing politics for 40 episodes) i NEED to feel all the feelings and to become obsessed with the main couple in order to finish the drama and blossom has made me feel just that- i think about dou zhao and song mo ALL THE TIME their scenes give me butterflies, their chemistry is insane

dramas i've finished in november and december:

1. Doubt- such a good mystery/thriller drama! The plot was very compelling and I enjoyed the acting (chae won bin showed how talented she is and hopefully she ll get many main roles in the future)

2. Mr Plaknton- loved the chemistry between the leads; the aspect of found family slayed in the last two episodes, the ending was fine imo but obviously sad

3. A Virtuous Business- a great female centric drama ❤ i loved the friendship between the women and their strenght to overcome problems was empowering

4. Family by choice- a hidden gem fr! It is one of my fave dramas i've watched this year 💝 loved every second of it

5. Love game in eastern fantasy- esther yu slayed my queen!! but ngl the show lost me in the last 10 episodes or so

6. Light the night season 2- this is such a GOOD drama!!! the plot the messy characters the acting everything is top notch (if anyone watched this drama i would really LIKE to talk about it)

i am up to episode seven of family by choice and its sooo good

it gives me reply 1988 vibes and i am all for that kind of kdramas! also i like how bingeable this show is, every episode feels like 2 minutes although soo many things are happening its definitely going to be in my top 5 kdramas of this year

i've been thinking a lot about esther yu since her new drama aired (i mean i think about her all the time lol bcz she is my queen) but i don't know if anyone else noticed that every time she has a drama her haters start bringing up her voice (the tale old as time...) and i am just like if you can't stand her voice then wtf are you constantly watching her dramas tho 😭 there are pleenty of cdramas to watch and enjoy

watching mr plankton right now, i am 6 episodes in and i like it! this show is all about trauma, tragedy and flawed characters- if someone is not prepared to watch this then this drama may not be for them both haejoo and jaemi are fucked up because of how they grew up; they might have trauma bonded but they surely love each other (and no its not a "perfect" relationship idk why are some ppl upset over the portrayal of their relationship. it is what it is because of how they are as characters); one thing i wanna say that may be unpopular based on comments that i have seen is that i just cant stand the 2ml... jaemi felt safe with him, he loves her but does she love him is up for a debate imo; however, he saw especially in episodes 5 and 6 how its impossible to break those two apart so cant he just give up???
