I reread your time loop fic again. And now your works made me think of in a specific way that reminds me of Kyoko from madoka magica. She lived a really shitty life and loved fairytales with good endings. And I think all of your works are people living through horrible times and getting a happy ending, which is something Kyoko wished for

When writing, happy endings are quite important to me, although I've obviously written some bad ones and wouldn't be opposed to writing them again!

I think that I want to emphasise healing when I put the focus on mental health. I like to look at the psychological difficulties that I feel could be explored more in canon—maybe based on the events or how the characters act—and really explore that, sometimes in a harsher way. But healing is just as important to me in those stories. Besides a whole lot of other things that can be said about suffering and healing, I just find it nice to write the setbacks and progress that happen with and in spite of what's happened in the past and may still be present. It's very rewarding to write

(Plus, I'm really not good at writing pure fluff. I cannot go without angst but I also want to write tender moments full of love and joy, so combining this with healing is something I love doing)

And writing... is even slower because of art. And uni. It's been over a year since my last suegiku fic, let me finish it I beg 😭😭

When you write stuff, what's your biggest struggle? Like, what do you have the most issues with?

Writing endings... To illustrate this problem:

"Let it destroy you" originally had 2 chapters less in its first draft. It jumped from chapter 15 straight to the end of 17. The ending was so incredibly rushed

"Will we ever see the end?" didn't have its final scene until I was almost done with editing

"The light behind your eyes" ended after chapter 4 very abruptly until I remembered that I'm bad at writing endings

I find it hard to balance "the plot is pretty much over," "this shouldn't overstay its welcome," and "the ending is too abrupt, I need to tie up the last few things."

That's also what I struggled with for my current fic, I got to the final stretch and ran out of things to say, but the end point I wanted and needed to get to was still hovering above me 😭

(Atm I'm fighting more against high expectations for myself, lack of time and motivation, as well as editing being super tiring)
