Cracked 40k... I know I shouldn't worry so much about what a potential audience may think but I keep wondering "who would even click on a 40k one-shot"
I sent one of the asks about the fics cause I love your works a lot and i'm sorry if it stresses you. I hope you're doing well I love you (platonic of course)
Hi I keep thinking about DOA!Tecchou and now i'm wondering how that would even happen. Like do you think he would join cause he wanted or would he have to be tricked or smth like that
Given that I was torn between a DOA Tecchou or DOA Jouno AU, I've thought about this quite a bit
I think it would need to happen earlier in his life that he's pulled in that direction, or maybe the DOA would need to be something that comes to him during a darker time of his life
I don't think all DOA members strictly followed the same goal on the surface (and Bram was barely there out of his own free will, it seems) so maybe he'd use it more to chase his own dreams with the tools he's then given. But since Fukuchi's ultimate (albeit misguided) goal was to prevent a war... yeah I think Tecchou as we know him would be on board
The Hunting Dogs as an organisation is something that he strongly identifies with, but had this not been there... I could see Tecchou as a vigilante, for example!
And given that he, as a person, can be as brutal as he seems gentle (telling Kenji he doesn't care about Atsushi being tortured, for example) he's not always bound by the most traditionally "good" morals and methods. Maybe he can overlook more if he needs to with the DOA
I can't know for sure if this was all sent by one person or not, but I find it important to address this in general
Writing and editing a fic takes me a long time. I answered the first question (just over 2 weeks ago) in detail about experiencing bad writer's block and my studies taking up a lot of space in my life. Please respect my time and working pace as well as my other obligations.
I know you probably mean well but I'm not a machine, and I feel like I'm faced with my own "shortcomings" rather than encouragement :<
I've also never been a person who can give a time frame for posting a fic; there is no plan. It simply takes a long time and even if I finish a draft, it can take me months of editing and reworking it (like with my current wip 😭) before I can post it. And it's better this way, I wouldn't want to pressure myself or build outside pressure by making promises. Not having deadlines for one thing in a busy life and simply enjoying the process is something I value a lot with writing and art.
I'm actively working on it again but my situation of being a full time student with a demanding workload as well as having other hobbies hasn't changed
Do you have a specific playlist for let it destroy you? You sometimes mentioned songs in the description
I did make one, yeah! I believe the songs I mentioned were "Parasite" and "Hate/Love" by Electric Callboy?
The actual playlist was never meant to be posted anywhere; it was more for myself as motivation and to capture the mood I wanted to achieve (an angry one, on both sides), so it has pretty much the same 4 artists over and over again for 30+ songs straight.......
Looking at it now, I thinkkkkkk the beginning and end are somewhat in order of how I would add it to the fic. The rest is all over the place
I don't want to post the link, but I'll provide a list of the songs on it:
But for a serious answer: my former username contained a zero and double s, and I hated that!! Since the name itself was already part of my brand tho, I was trying to think of a way to keep it. And given that I draw and I've seen other artists do this, adding png to my url seemed like the best way!
Other options included jpeg (why would I pick that over png /j) and txt (I was told that my username already made some people think of kpop, so adding another unintentional kpop reference was discouraged)
+ png flows the best imo
Meet the sacrificial lamb.
Lore below and you can find me on art fight for the first time aaaa
It wasn't supposed to be her.
The prophecy of a sacrifice demands a young woman—a lamb, white fur, and with eyes that can catch predators for a timely escape. Horns would follow in her shadow; kindness grow in her wake.
And although the townspeople claim not to believe in such nonsense, whispers arise whenever Maria, Em's older sister, walks home from school. She takes pride in it. After all, being sacrificed means to save this town and its people. (And besides, the attention flatters her, she says with a cheeky laugh.)
With a bell necklace that's adorned by an engraved "M" to bind her to her duty, she offers courageous smiles and gentle words to strangers. Then, with a hand on Em's back to nudge them away from the crowd, she hides from everyone the shadows of worry falling upon her face.
As the younger sibling, still a child with short, wild hair and a streak for mischief, Em doesn't understand all that is happening until they notice the pitying looks and their parents' anxiety.
The impending doom would hover above them as Maria grows into a young woman and Em, to the surprise of many, follows.
Maybe it's the solemn look on her sister's face during conversations about doctors and new names, which Emilia mistakes for disapproval. It drives a wedge between the two siblings.
Resentment, loneliness, and guilt lead to fear, during which Em would see her own shadow growing horns. Somehow, they grant them strength.
When Em finally confronts Maria, she seeks an apology—no, she wants to apologise. No... maybe she wants to be angry and let it all out?—they get no two words in before Maria breaks down. She's seen the horns. She's feared this for so, so long and she'll continue to do anything to prevent it.
The two embrace. Em conceals her ears under her hair and colours it black everyday with coal from the hearth.
When catastrophe approaches, trying to make Maria the lamb instead of Em ends in blood.
Em runs. She lets those who've been seeking the lamb catch her—she must become the sacrifice one way or another.
due to the fact that there's mot much canon content about the gays, everything you say about them is pretty much canon for me. Share some of your hcs?
That's a lot of pressure, whew /hj
I think the ones I use as my "essential" headcanons when I write almost all of my fics would be
Tecchou:
Child soldier, grew up in the military
Warm hands
Scars that he carries with pride
Autism, CPTSD
If he had a sibling, probably a sister (older or younger both work well)
Likes hiking and climbing
Over the years, he's picked up sewing. He did so much of it to fix holes in his uniforms, so he's become quite skilled at it. (It keeps his hands busy when they dare to tremble)
Likes having his hair brushed, washed, and played with
Jouno:
Had a bad home life that pushed him into crime at a young age (i.e. stealing to survive turning into gang activitiy)
Cold hands
Had more piercings at some point
CPTSD, BPD (and NPD or at least some traits of it, depending on my mood)
If he had a sibling, it would be a younger brother. See my post about HCs using this idea
One small tattoo in a place that's not easily visible. Maybe on his ribs or on the inside of his arm, close to them
Embroidery keeps his hands busy. It's a craft that has both visual and sensory appeal once it's completed. Maybe he'll get around to combining it with Tecchou's sewing one day
Also who do you think gets sick more? Jouno or Tecchou?? And how do they live through that?
I'm going through major writer's block at the moment, I can't lie... I've picked up reading more to get out of it, since it's connected to my desire to improve my writing but hitting a wall with that.
I'm also unfortunately incredibly busy 😭 I'm preparing for my thesis, my workload is very demanding, and due to my writer's block I'm focusing a lot more on my art as a creative outlet
I'll come back to everything, though. I know I always will, and I'm happy to know that there are people waiting for me :]
OKAY I think that Tecchou cares about his health less, so he's more likely to get sick but he ignores it. He'll push through and maybe not even notice something's off due to the constant strain he puts on his body. Until he collapses or someone else notices
Jouno's more in tune with himself, but only as long as it's unnoticeable for others. If he became severely ill, he'd either retreat to recover, or push through it much like Tecchou. It's about not displaying weakness and letting people actually care for him for fear that he'll owe them.
However I also think he might be quicker to weaponise being sick (read: he has the lightest cough) to blame it on others (read: Tecchou) and get what he wants
have you ever thought of releasing your own book? I'd buy the shit outta that
That's so sweet, thank you so much!!
I've definitely thought about it but it's not a goal of mine as of right now! I have characters with stories to tell, although atm fanfiction is my medium and those other stories remain in my head for the time being
