“Secret Ending” Saeran is hands down my favorite. I have a lot of feelings about Mystic Messenger’s secret endings and I was directly inspired by the zine’s title, Wither & Bloom. I wanted this piece to have a sense of healing and hope for Saeran’s future, despite darkness and uncertainty.

Toma: Alright... let’s begin the Seika Academy Idol Club First Years vs. Second Years Idol Battle! You’ll be competing in three categories: putting together a casual look, fanservice, and performance ♪ Subaru: We third years and Toma’ll be presiding over the ceremonies here, judging, aaaand acting as the audience Behind the camera’s none other than our Manager. Thanks for that, by the way. PC: I’ll do my best! Yoichi: Acting as leader for the first years, we have Kureha-san. And for the second years, Touya-san. Would either of you like to say a few words before we start?

Toma: Time to bring them back out on stage! First up, we have the first years! Show us what you’ve got! ♪ Kureha: Yu-p! ...Oof. Uhh... is here good? Toma: That’s fine. So how did you first years approach our theme of “If I Went Out With A Girl”? Let’s start with you. Kaito-san? Kaito: .....Our objective was to create a fresh-looking outfit that would suit anyone. The white sweater gives off a more gentle vibe, and if you want to take that off, you’ve still got the shirt beneath it. The bag works as either a backpack or a shoulder bag... Aoi: You mean how Touya-san’s popularity has completely exploded!? Kaito: Again? Aoi: Not just “again”. ‘Til Touya-san’s name’s up in lights like those folks in Hollywood I have a good feeling he’ll keep getting more and more popular. Toma: Seems more like you’re already being blinded to me. Aoi: No one can outmatch Touya-san in the talent department! Toma: Ahaha~ ♪ No matter what you say, he’s still not deserving of my praise Yoichi: ...Ahem! If you’re done we can finally get to the topic at hand. Manager, if you would. Player Character: Yes!

Recently we’ve been getting a ton of comments from our fans that drop by the blog that go something like, “I want to see stirRhythm in even more situations!” So I’ve been working with Yoichi-san to figure out what type of content we should try uploading. Kureha: You mean things outside of our live shows and practice? PC: Exactly! It’s fun watching all of you practice your moves, but we were thinking of maybe putting up some content of you guys planning something. Touya: I see, I see. It’s foolish to keep updating our blog with the same content day in and day out; our followers will grow bored of us. We need to shake things up, yes? Kazuyuki: So then why don’t we think of a theme to work towards? PC: Thanks so much! I should apologize, though... I really tried to think of something on my own, but I couldn’t come up with anything worth sharing... Kazuyuki: I mean, it has to do with us, doesn’t it? It’s only natural that w e should come up with something together. So please don’t apologize, okay? I know we’ll come up with something way more fun if we all put our heads together. Kureha: Yeah, totally! A live broadcast! I want to do a live broadcast! Wouldn’t it be sweet if anyone anywhere could watch our shows?! Touya: Wouldn’t it make more sense to be doing shows regularly first? In any case, I thought the blog was there for the people that couldn’t make the shows in the first place. Aoi: I feel the same as Touya-san! Why wouldja put it on the blog when we want them to have fun at the real thing? Kazuyuki: U-umm... Maybe... we shouldn’t look for a substitute for the live shows. There are already recordings of PlayStar online... Yuuhi: ....What about something like a survey. I do those sometimes. Something like “What kind of pictures do you want to see on the blog?”... Toma: A simple survey, huh... Like a popularity poll? Kaito: Doesn’t... something like that come with its own problems? There’s a clear advantage to those who have been doing this longer. Subaru: Like Yoichi-kun, riiiiight? Or people who have a good social media presence like Touya-kun. For people like that, they have the clear advantage of publicity. Yuuhi: I... don’t feel so great about this. As far as popularity goes... I’m pretty sure I’d be on the bottom. Kazuyuki: Same here... I am kind of interested to know who the most popular member is, but I don’t really want to know who’s the least.... Aoi: You serious? Neither of ya have any confidence! Well, I already know Touya-san’s gonna be number one even without the poll, so I don’t care if I’m not. Touya: Mhmm. Besides, this is for our fans. We want to make them excited, thrill them when they see us doing things together. Kaito: If they’re choosing the pictures... wouldn’t it be better to do something more lax? PC: A survey that’s lax.... while also exciting everyone... How about we do a game? Yoichi: Hm, yes. We’d be able to have our fun, but not worry about people getting hurt upon seeing the results. Subaru: If there’s gonna be a winner or loser... A while baaaack I saw this show where some guys were put in casual clothes-- Kureha: Oh! I saw that! They had some famous people go out in regular clothes and judge who was the most fashionable. Toma: That sounds fun! I wanna do tha~t! Aoi: But that’s Toma’s strong suit! Wait. No, it doesn’t matter. I’m real sure that Touya-san’s got the number one spot there too. I’m sure of it! Touya: Heh, I am the embodiment of good taste! At last you will gaze upon me... and I shall rejoice in “The Downfall of Toma” Toma: Oh, I’m not worried, Touya-san. There’s no way I’ll lose to you. ♪ Not when you go you looking like-- PC: A-ANYWAY! This sounds great, right? With Toma-kun designing the outfits, we just need to fiture out who the judges will be... Toma: Isn’t that obvious, Manager ♪ I’ll judge! It’ll be a breeze for me to pick apart whatever’s bad, and point out whatever’s good! Yoichi: I think judging their outfits will be interesting, but... I also want aspects more related to idol-like things Yuuhi: What do you mean by “idol-like things”? The power of an idol... isn’t something that’s so easy to define... Touya: Worry not! We’ll define it how we see fit! Kazuyuki: How far should we go with “idol-like” do you think?” Touya: Oh my, how about this. While we are being judged, what if the fans decide which of us has the most overwhelming idol power? Kureha: That sounds fun! So much better than knowing each person’s popularity individually. Subaru: Weeeeeeeell, as long as the rules of this lil’ contest are clearly defined it’ll probably lessen the shock of the popularity reults, dontcha think? Toma: The casual clothes should do that too. Once we decide on the theme, things will really start getting interesting ♪ And now about those idolish things... Aoi: Fanservice! Kureha: A live show! Yoichi: So then we’ll have three judging categories: their casual look, fanservice, and a live. Kazuyuki: Are we all competing against each other? I... I don’t think I can stack up... Subaru: Hooow ‘boooout we compete in teams. So while we’re waging battle against each other, the final showdown can happen in the personal style category. Toma: Then let’s have the first years go up against the second years. Are you third years fine with that? Yoichi: I have no problems with it. Then we’ll end the meeting here for now. Manager, do we have your help? PC: Leave it to me! Touya: Alright. Aoi, Yuuhi, let’s give this our all! Kureha: Kaito, Kazuyuki, let’s rock this! Yoichi: Which reminds me, when he was younger Kazu also used to trip over nothing quite often. Kazuyuki: Oh yeah....
