“There is a difference between expecting to do something then making plans. And he made plans to go to the movies with me and watch Emma. So that is what is going to happen, because those are the plans Giovanni and I agreed on, in private conversation.” 

See, this is exactly fucking why Marcie is so bone chilling. She’s the sort of person that doesn’t make you want to explain anything out of the mild embarrassment that surfaces in you after her stern words, but to instead just go: ‘yeah, okay.’ 

“We didn’t - ugh - I...okay.”

“Marcie.” He claps, as if desperate. “Me and ‘Vani have been friends since Kindergarten. And we’ve been having our movie nights for probably five years max. I don’t wanna step over boundaries or anything but - how was I suppose to know you had a whole date planned out? He never mentioned anything to me!”

       Oh God, oh God -- Ben has always been intimidated of Marcie. Maybe it’s because she’s a whooping 6′0, maybe it’s because she use to have him be ‘Tonya Harding’ in their game of Revenge and would proceed to mercilessly beat him, maybe it’s because she has everything so together with little time for games. Either way, he feels spineless in her presence, even as a grown man.         So -- as he prepares himself for a unwanted conversation, he finds his heartbeat pick up a little faster than what it should have been. He suddenly felt light-headed too. 

      “Sooo I know that it’s...totally important for couples to y’know, date.” He meant engaged couples, but it escaped him. 

     “But Thursday Night movies are me and Vonni’s thing. I mean, we don’t go to the movies and make it into a big thing like...he’s probably doing with you. I just rent out a movie from my job and we evaluate it. For science.” He tried to make a joke in an effort to lighten the tension. “But yeah we...always do that. So.”

So I’m only logging on here to say that Giovanni & Ben have been best friends since childhood because the Rosenthal Family lives a few houses down from the Scozzari Family. I mean, the two boys played Dungeons & Dragons together, watched movies together, they had a tree house, and by high school they had a failed garage band. This one is for you @beenpole.

        Maybe it’s the new cologne or the change of his usual digs, but it’s definitely clear that he was feeling good about himself today. He’ll say that he wasn’t trying to catch anybody’s attention. It doesn’t mean he didn’t like the eyes on him. It just felt a touch bit sweeter knowing it was Cass. Was it satisfying because it was the Boss’ daughter? Or maybe he just likes the idea of a beautiful woman eyeing him down?

Hm, both– both sound right. 

         “ Take a picture; it’ll last longer, baby. ” He felt a smirk creep across his face as he looked back over to Cass. His arms crossed over his chest as he takes a quick scan of her.

 How far should he take this? He bites his lip. 

          “ You just gonna sit there and ogle or am I making the first move?                Cause I think there’s a little too much space between us right now, baby.  “             

      “What kind of woman do you think I am?” Cassandra throws Benny’s ( honest ) accusations over her shoulder. Maybe it’s the liquor in her system, maybe it’s been some time since she’s actually seen Benny face to face and she has realized he has a ‘decent’ face. 

     “My mother always told me making the first move could bring a bad impression.” Not that it bothered her in her youth, but things are different now. She’s much older. 

     “Besides. You’re talking to me now. All you have to do is get over here.”
