Silence Isn't So Sweet // Noah and Wilikin // V6 W6 Tuesday Evening
He rolled his eyes when she tapped him with her foot. “I’m not learning any songs.” This thief was a conundrum. Skilled and intense, cold, yet also oddly carefree and rambunctious. Nonetheless, Noah listened to what she sung.
She would good at it, he would give her that. But when she started talking about being glum, he did actively frown. Having the sun shining and being alive were not the same as living. Correcting Wilikin on that fact of his perspective was a moot point. And yet it bothered him, all the same.
"What?" He raised a brow at her cut off sentence, before scoffing at the lyrics. "Stop kicking me. And I’m not— I don’t sing, or write lyrics, and I am not starting it now."
"What about you? Can you not be still and appreciate quiet company when you are on a mission?"
"You live life strict like that, I'll tell you one thing," She mused, glancing at him, "You'll never feel the wind." She nodded, this sentence having so much meaning to her. "It's like staying inside while the sun is shining. People are meant to live, otherwise they'd never be born. Haven't you ever wanted that? Like climbing to a mountain top and shouting down to the world, because you can." She grinned at the thought, She smiled for a moment,"Wonder why I chose the thieving life?" She asked, "It's because I see things no one else sees, I do things no one else dreams of. I live life, and I don't have to be rich to do it. Or bow down to a high an' mighty," She scoffed, tilting her head, she fell silent. Watching him curiously.
"And, if it's me reading the signs aright..," She said slowly, as her brow wrinkled, "I see you don't know the feeling."
Her tongue found its way along her teeth as she suddenly sat up, facing him. Her own face not far from his. "You've never really tasted what that's like I think--- You look like a man that's followed too many orders and ne'er his own mind..." She paused, seeming to almost be confused by the idea. She lowered her voice, so that it was almost a whisper.
"Why not?"
And can a heart, frozen, beat?

Silence Isn't So Sweet // Noah and Wilikin // V6 W6 Tuesday Evening
He stared at her, mildly entertained at the randomness of her being so enthralled by singing. Random was a relative term, as apparently it was a common activity here. “I have never had that duty before when taking a prisoner,” he replied lightly, looking out into the forest again as she continued to speak.
Claude continued to be nowhere seen. As if that was a surprise, though. The man likely wouldn’t pop up again until he was climbing a tree to get settled in for the night. Noah looked at Wilikin again. “Where I am from, silence is more appreciated than singing with the choir.”
He shook his head. She had been right — he was hungry. He was also tired a bit, emotionally and physically, and was antsy to be back in his own world. He only stared with raised brows at her, not smiling.
"No, no. I don’t know that song. And really, I do not sing. Feel free to continue on by yourself, but don’t make a ruckus." They were trying to stay at least a little bit hidden amongst these wild woods, after all.
"Then it's a dull place you come from--" She raised both eyebrows, laying down on the leaves and cushioning her head with her arms, little realizing how attractive she might appear from that angle. "Song is the blood of an empire," She said, "What else brings a man to do great deeds? What leads men to victory? Eh?" She chuckled.
She kicked him gently with her foot, good naturedly. "Then let me learn 'em to ya." She grinned, "You need a bit of learnin'." She tilted her head, seemed to nod along to a song. "Well come on, the refrain's right simple so you join in like so." She added, suddenly grinning as she opened her lips and sung the few lines. Her voice soft yet true.
She furrowed her brow, gesturing with a hand, "But then there's that bit that go 'a la tralio gallin' hoooo!" She burst out laughing. "That's the silly part," She explained, "But a song's always gotta have a silly part, least ways the good ones that are meant to lighten your mood."
She glanced at Noah, "Mind you, you look as if you could do with some cheerin' up. Why you so glum?" She made a face, "You're breathing air, the sun's been fair, and more importantly you're alive."
She sighed, seeing she wasn't making much way with him. "The pair of you--" She snorted, before clearing her throat and starting up a new tune.
"Oh I walk in the company of ghosts--
Pale men--"
She furrowed her brow, "Come on, I'm stuck, help me out!" She poked him with her boot again.

Silence Isn't So Sweet // Noah and Wilikin // V6 W6 Tuesday Evening
Noah deferred judgment to Claude once more when the other man decided they should stop for the night. There wasn’t much choice in the matter. When Claude stopped, he stopped, otherwise he kept going without hardly looking back.
He made a comment about scouting and Noah nodded, letting him do his thing. They had to be as pre-cautious as possible. He side-eyed the thief before sinking to sit with his back against an old tree.
This whole set-up better not be a trap. He was running on the assumption that it wasn’t, that the thief had enough honor left in her to play fair in getting her satchel back. But the entire situation was unpredictable and he knew it.
He began to think once more about what could possibly be happening back in their world. It had only been a few days here; hopefully it had not been longer back there. He hated the manipulation of time and the confusion that was left in the wake of it.
Which meant that he wasn’t all that surprised that Robert had likely been the one in favor of it. No one could convince him otherwise of Robert’s involvement in this. It was plain as day.
He tensed and raised his arm slightly when Wilikin slapped it. “Don’t call me that,” was all he replied to the laughter. Her narrowed his eyes, assessing the woman. Noah wasn’t going to let his guard down for her — what she was likely aiming for.
"…No," he replied after a long beat. "Don’t sing." He raised an eyebrow. "You don’t look like the type to either."
"Oh come on! Never a soul I've met that hadn't a song t' sing!" She grinned, seeming to find great amusement in Noah's obstinacy. She raised her eyebrows, "It'll be fun..." She promised, trying to tease him out of his shell. "Besides...Way I look at things. If I'm you're 'prisoner'," She rolled her eyes at the name, "Then it's your duty t' keep me entertained. And, if ya don't mind my sayin' it. You're doing a right poor job with the vow of silence."
It really was starting to get annoying, like she was traveling with ghosts. "Travelin' with ghosts," She said exactly what she was thinking, "That's what it feels like. I don't know about you, but I like to make believe I'm one of the livin'. Course--" She tilted her head with a smirk, glancing at Noah, "You'are lookin' a bit peakish."
She snorted at how he said she couldn't sing. Course she could! "These lips have enchanted more men than you're ever likely to--" She challenged back, not realizing how the statement could be taken, "Course I can sing! I can sing with the best of them."
She tilted her head, starting to hum a well known tune that most villages around here knew. She elbowed him, as if expecting him to join in. "Coooome on!" She grinned.
"I love being outside - that’s where I’m happiest."
The Thrill Of The Chase || Wilikin and Daith || V6 W7 Monday Morning, Just Before Dawn
Daith listened, enraptured by her tale. It almost made him feel like a part of her world to hear her talk about it. He gave a great wolfy huff as she finished her story, looking delighted. It made him want to run and yip and play, and suddenly the forest seemed to be beckoning his name.
"No’ a hero." he said shaking his head, "No one needs me." He shook a little, the human emotion of loneliness creeping in made his wolf uneasy. He needed to change the subject, and fast.
"Story. I like. You… hunter?" he cocked his head to the side before lowering his body to the ground. "Climb up. We hunt together."
"I'm not a hunte-" Before she could finish he'd offered for her to climb up on his back. The idea was beyond tempting, to ride a'back a great woolly beast like him?! Living to tell the tale!
If she had been given any common sense warning her about riding wolves of any kind, she ignored it now, hoisting herself up and shrieking with excitement and the feeling of him under her. She could feel his well defined muscles, his entire skeletal system changed. Well this was exciting!
"Where do we go?" She whispered in his ear, his face lighting up like a mischievous pixie's.
Silence Isn't So Sweet // Noah and Wilikin // V6 W6 Tuesday Evening
Wiliking sighed, sitting on her root and grumbling to herself about how these two refused to make a camp fire. It was irritating. "For land's sake..." She growled. The other two however, for the most part, seemed to be ignoring her.
Then the one that could walk unseen went off to do some 'scouting' as he called it. Worthless exploring more like.
She glanced at Noah, seeing that he was falling deep into his own thoughts as well before she smacked him good naturedly on the shoulder. "Wake up y' Dolly Daydream." She laughed, "I'll be gone before ya can blink an' eye and then your friend'll be livid won't he now?"
The very idea was, to her, of the amusing sort.
She sighed, settling herself in a more comfortable position. "So talk t' me." She suddenly said, "It's not like I'm some evil little Gremlin is it? Waitin' to pick my teeth on ya bones." She tilted her head, "I don't know...Do ya sing?" She tried. A song would really lighten things up a bit, and these two were the dullest traveling companions she'd ever had. Barely a word between them.
Mean Girl? // Wilikin & Peter // v6 W6 Friday Morning
”Okay okay!” he said, holding his hands up in a placating way, “I’m not saying it isn’t. Let’s go talk to Noah and see if he knows anything about this. He didn’t mention anything like that to me, but then again, he hasn’t really talked to me since….” Peter trailed off.
"It doesn’t matter. What does matter is making sure this gets rectified, whatever it takes." He nodded and stood, "Come on, let’s go."
"Time for talk is over--" She set her brows darkly, "No one steals from the Guild. No one no how. My Lady curse them!" She seemed quite upset by the fact they had taken from the Guild, and as a matter of fact she was. The Guild's honor and reputation was at stake here. Being bumbled by those two fools.
"They woulda' never made it out if it weren't for me!" She growled, clenching her fists angrily. Her bright eyes flashing with anger. "Alright--" She nodded, "But I get t' knock them on their arses."
Cloak and Dagger // Shay & Wilikin // v6 W6 Sunday Afternoon
Shay sighed a bit as Wilikin told her that she didn’t recognize the stars at all. That was rather disappointing, but Shay had also kind of expected it considering here Wilikin was from. A whole other world.
"Sorry." she muttered frowning at her. "I did try at lea—." But then Wilikin cut her off with an exclamation about being able to see the similarities. Shay’s eyes widened a bit. "Guess I did something right after all." She grinned at her, jaw suddenly dropping as the woman spoke next.
No. It couldn’t be. Shay as only half joking with Wilikin earlier about being born under The Sign. Sure it would have been cool, but…”Are you serious? Are you sure?” Shay asked, canting her head to the side and looked at Wilikin with her eyebrows raised. “Because that’s awesome!”
She shook her head, as if annoyed with Shay's dumb luck. "Well if y' want in--" She shrugged, "You'll have to head over to Rivervale...That's where the Master lives." She said, glancing at her with a smug smile, "The city's in the palm of his hand." She said, "Ifn' they want to keep the Meadery going, they go through Maven."
"There isn't anything that goes on without his say so." She summed up, "The Jarl's powerless and old. The guards are for the bribin'." She sighed, shaking her head, "It's a thief's paradise." She smiled. "Been there nigh seven and ten times."
"But it's recruitment's that's the hard bit." She said, "They need people, but only good ones is all that they'll take. No sense in endangering the rest of us over numbers." She said.
And So We Meet Again // Claude, Noah, & Wilikin // V6 W6 Tuesday Afternoon
She nodded, smirking now. Completely sure of herself. She knew exactly what she was going to do. It was only a matter of time before one of them got sloppy. “Alright.” She said, “Fair enough deal. I lead you to your Gate and you chase your fate, probably Lady Death, and I get my satchel.”
She extended a hand to shake, the corner of her mouth turned up slightly in a lazy smile. “Partners then.” She said.
She extended a hand, but Claude didn’t take it. Instead giving a scoff. “Handshake doesn’t mean anything.” He said, fixing her in a hard stare, “Especially not to your kind. We’re working together for the moment. Yeah.” He raised an eyebrow, “But partners? No.”
He gave another scoff, showing exactly what he thought of the situation as he stepped away. “When you’re ready then.” He said, passing Noah. He wanted to get home. He didn’t know about Noah, but getting home was his primary concern. He could strike up friendships with the natives if he wanted.
"Good," he replied with some satisfaction. Before she made the comment about partners. Not that she knew it, but that word and concept could not have been brought up to a worser crowd.
Noah made no comment to Claude’s scoffing, only turning to Wilikin when the other man walked past. He gestured in the direction of Claude. “Let’s go. Don’t want to waste anymore time, do you?” He asked rhetorically. He waited for her to move before he followed, keeping a watchful eye on the thief.
