Theocentric explanations for existence surmise that you were put here for a reason. That thereās meaning inherent in being alive because you have something to do. And if you buy in, you go searching for that purpose.

But usually, itās worthless.
Thereās no purpose to be found, but thereās still purpose after all. Itās not that there isnāt. Itās just that the purpose will call.
Ana Paolaās purpose in life was given to her and it is simple: Kill and Collect.
Oh, certainly, she dresses it up in words like ājusticeā and āsafetyā and she believes in those words too. She wants to say devouring terrorist organizations are for the good of the world but in her heart, she thinks the world can kiss her ass.
The world took and takes and will take again.
Is she supposed to give willingly?
Is she supposed to let the world take?
Well, the truth is it isnāt about letting it take or giving willingly. It will take regardless of that. Until she has nothing left to give. Until, when the sun goes out for the last time, she hopefully goes with it.

Itās a game she plays with herself. Justice and safety help her sleep at night. She creates the rules as she goes.
She doesnāt like disturbing the dead but she uses corpses as pawns. She doesnāt like digging around graves but sheās had men raised from their resting places. She doesnāt like sadism but sheās so damn sadistic.
The rules are negotiable, shifted based on what she needs to fulfill her purpose. But thereās one rule she refuses to break, to bend, to even mention the possibility of the rule one day no longer existing.
Until the sun is one day extinguished, Dirk Anger will suffer with her.
You will think her cruel for keeping his head in a storage closet. You will think her cruel for not letting him die in the first place or the second. You will think her cruel.
Ana Paola does not care, so long as you think him cruel too. Think him cruel for the countless deaths heās inflicted on her. Think him cruel for the people heās taken from her.
They will do this to the end of days.

She lost the symbol of her purpose.

In her rage, her blood starts to boil. In her rage, this is felt by her subordinates. Perhaps you think it horrible, but Ana Paola replaces the blood of every dead agent with her own. To control them post-mortem.
And in her rage, it boils them to the bone.
When she calms down, sheāll have them remade. No one leaves H.A.T.E. after all.
