Announcement

I’m leaving tumblr’s roleplaying world. I haven't touched any of my two accounts in months proper, and I’m going back to school in August, so I really won’t have time to do jack shit here anyway. 

I don’t like formatting posts here anymore, since the newer updates have made that a pain in the ass to do. I also don’t have enough effort in me to redo profiles/layouts/whatever when I feel like I need to.

Actually, that feeling is why I haven’t come here in ages, since it feels too much of a chore here to write. IDK, since chey is leaving too, I don’t see much of anything keeping me here, despite all the swell people I’ve interacted with. I just feel drained.

I am still very much present on tumblr via my main, which is now linked on both Mario and Toad’s profiles. If you want to get in touch with me (or through skype), go there.

I spent the last three years on meridastangledlocks and I never saw myself archiving and starting anew. It all sort of happened on a whim, but even though things have been a little tricky, I’m happy I made the choice. It’s a relief to be back to a white blank slate, and I’m so happy for those who followed me as well as all the new people I’ve been lucky to meet. I really hope that we can all be friends ♥ Thank you !!

Going to keep this short: It’s been a crazy semester and life’s finally slowed down to the point where I can return to the roleplaying community. 

In honor of that, here’s to the people who decided to stick around, and a here’s to new friends I hope to make as I wade back into writing for the medieval brute that you’ve all come to love. I’m pleased to have met such a supportive group, and I look forward to announcing my novel to you all someday.

“Suppose I could have done that, aye, but there’s only so much that I can learn by googling. It’s always best to confirm what you know with a real person, isn’t it? Especially if you’re nowhere near an expert on the subject.” 

She reached out to stroke his hair, lower lip pouted in confusion. “Why nostalgic? Did you used to work there? Nothing is stopping you from browsing the store…”

"That's what I meant. You just worded it better than me."

He smiles and leans his head closes to her. "No." He bites his lip. "Actually, kinda? I used to hang around with the employees there back in high school. I was just the nosey kid, ya know? Never payed for anything most of the time, but still played with all the toys."

He shrugged and sighed. "I'm too old to be doing that stuff now. Besides that, I doubt that the same people work there anymore..." Or they did and Mario just did not want to show up there again.

“I did, actually. Do you really think that I know enough about guitar to pick them out with zero help? There’s such a wide variety, it’s almost ridiculous! I’m so glad they’re not the wrong kind.”

"Oh. Well, I-I just kinda figured that you'd look some info up on your phone, but I guess you needed someone to narrow it down for you. And, heh, to be honest you'd have to really fuck up to buy shitty guitar strings. Like, those guys down at the guitar center and stuff know their shit, yeah?

God... that makes me a lil' nostalgic now..."

"Happy Christmas, Darling! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s practical."

"Well shit babe, I wasn't expecting guitar strings at all! These look really good too... Did you have help finding these?"

They Might Be Giants - Don’t Let’s Start

She massages his back, wood hard beneath the thin cotton of his shirt, and pats his head the way she would with Hana. “Yes, that’s true as well. We will have to remedy that sometime—give him more grandchildren than he could ever dream of having. Grandchild Wonderland.”

Her smile grows ever wider, tongue pressing against the gap in her teeth with glee. “That does sound like an expert plan, Mr. Gano. Family bonding all around is generally a good idea, aye, but I would certainly not be opposed to a bit more one-on-one quality time as well. Heaven knows we could always use a bit more of that.” Waggling her eyebrows conspiratorially, she leans in a touch to lightly peck his nose with her own.

"Would you prefer to make this change as soon as possible, or wait until after these winter festivities have died down?"

He coughs at the idea, then takes the time to rub the end where she had kissed him. "Ah, m-maybe once we have some place to stay. A bigger place. I-if we're lucky again anyway..." Though he doubted that he could conceive again,  if one miracle had sprouted from his own seed, then why not another? They had no reason not to try again, besides the lack of space.

"How about at the start of the new year? Or after? I'd be best not to leave dad alone for Christmas, and I think we should at the very least let Toad experience the holiday with us. I kinda get the sense that he just doesn't get to do these sorts of things often, ya know?"

Jack, or Toad as he prefered, couldn't care less about Christmas, but Mario was determined to change the younger man's mind. He thought that the goblin took the commercialism of the holiday too seriously for his own good. There was more to the holiday than spending, after all. Plus, he had the strongest urge to get him and Una to watch the first Gremlins together, which was an idea that amused him more than it should have.
