Sona gave one last pluck at the strings and let it fade slowly. Soraka looked more at peace, she had done what she set out to do.

Sona felt her stomach growl and stood to help her friend back up. A decent amount of time had passed, she hadn’t even noticed, and it was time to go find something to eat. Sona motioned to her stomach then her, wondering if she was going to accompany her for a meal or go about the rest of her day.

It took Soraka a moment to figure out what Sona was trying to express, but once she understood, she nodded enthusiastically. She was started to feel somewhat hungry as well, and would definitely enjoy a nice meal. 

“Oh, yes,” Soraka said with a smile. “Where would you like to go?”

In truth, Soraka didn’t really know where most of the eateries around town were, outside of one cafe. 

Sona knew that there were many places to eat, she had been keeping track of the buildings that opened in town. There were two cafes she knew of and a bar. Sona was not a big drinker and she hadn’t seen Soraka drink either, so the bar might not be the best. 

Sona woulg give Soraka the choice. The Cat Cafe or Serpentine Cafe, both new but with good reviews. She made cat like ears on her head, much like from the DJ persona she would take from time to time. Then she made a snake with her hands.

“The first one seems interesting,” Soraka said after watching Sona mime to her. She trusted her friend’s judgement, and was quite sure that the place Sona suggested would be good. After all, Sona had never struck Soraka as the type to choose questionable places to visit. 

“Can you lead me to where it is?” Soraka asked as she realized she didn’t know how to get to the establishment. Although she was becoming familiar with the Academy grounds and some sections of town, she was still learning the businesses that were popping up.

Sona gave a nod and motioned to the star child.She hadn't eaten there herself but she had seen many enter so she assumed it would work for their needs.

The walk was short, the owner must have asked to be closer to the park. Though in the inside it was... Fuzzy.

There were cats everywhere. Sona looked to her companion, surely she wasn't expecting this either.

If Sona could laugh, she would be on the ground with tears in her eyes. A DIVORCE ATTORNEY?! Oh this world has a sense of humor. She shook lightly in quiet laughter. She gave him a knowing smile, the joke well known. The prison warden was rather fitting, though she feared for the inmates of the prison should they piss the ghostly man off.

Sona watched Thresh sit in his memories, while she wasn’t a fan of the Thresh she knew in the Fields of Justice she understood the missing of the old life. She missed the magical hum that her Ethreal made when she was in battle. Wither it was healing her allies or helping bring down her enemies, the hum made her strong but here it was gone. She could still heal and kill if the need called but it was weaker.

Figuring out what happened was going to take time, she had figured that much. With plucks at the strings Sona made a sound of agreement.     

Thresh could tell by how the young woman shook and smile that she thought it was funny as well. The reaper quite liked that touch and he couldn’t wait to rub his job in Lucian’s face. That is.. if Lucian ended up in this world. He pondered for a moment, but thought nothing more of it and inclined his head.

“It is rather peculiar that we are able to keep our abilities and weapons in this kind of environment. It would have been crafty to separate us from our resources; a mistake on their part,” he rambles for a moment, mostly to himself but figuring he could share it with Sona as well. Thresh raises the chain his hand held and he simply stares at it. “Do you think this is a test, Sona?”

A test? What kind of benefit would come from a test like this, see who lives better? Sona shook her head, there was no way this was an elaborate test. Not everyone from the Leauge had made it yet.

She looked down at her instrument also, why could they still use their abilities though? This world didn't seem to be one of magic, more like technology. The champions o Piltover probably feel better here then she or Thresh did. Sona let out a silent sigh, this life was going to be confusing

“I am a Divorce Attorney and the local prison’s Warden,” he replied with a smile, well close enough to one. Thresh knew his jobs were fitting for him, even if one of them happened to be a humorous joke more than anything. However, the job had been real and he’d already been getting calls and cases.

The reaper leans back in his seat once more, eyes closing as he just tries his best to relax. “I wonder if we will ever find out why we have been transported here without any warning or explanation. These jobs.. they are ridiculous. I rather enjoyed killing others.”

Sona gently put her hand on Soraka’s shoulder, she didn’t want her friend to feel upset. Even if the lack of knowledge was a sad thing to hear.

Sona stood and brought Soraka to her feet, sitting and feeling sad about the situation wouldn’t help anyone. She needed to cheer up her friend, Sona gave a strum on her instrument and began to walk towards the lake a few feet away.

Soraka got to her feet, and gave a soft smile as she realized that Sona was trying to make her feel better about what was going on. She then listened as Sona again played the her Ethreal, and began heading towards a nearby lake. Yes…yes it would be nice to explore a little. Soraka began following Sona to the water.

“I wonder if it’ll freeze enough later in the year?” she pondered. Her grove had always remained warm, even during the winter months, so when she had entered the mortal world, she had been absolutely enchanted by all the things that could be done in the ice and snow. She hadn’t really had the time to try much of it, though, since she had had to tend to her responsibilities as a champion and healer.

Sona gave a small smile to her friend, it was considerably cold but it held little affect on their bodies, fighting along side the champions like Sejuani and Ashe would do that to you. Sona lightly pulled Soraka to sit in front of the lake, she would be able to see the ripples of the water from where she sat without worry of falling in. Sona sat a little close to the lake, her Ethreal dipped into the water. She plucked a string and produced a wave along the surface. Then she plucked another and another, making the water ripples dance and overlap along with her music.

She knew Soraka hardly gave herself time to just sit and relax, being a healer in the League did not give much time to relax. She needed time to just exist and Sona could help with that. She could question her friend later.

Soraka sat down before the lake, and settled into a comfortable spot close to the water. At first, she was somewhat confused as she saw Sona dip her instrument into the water. Then, she watched as the musician began to pluck the Ethreal’s strings to make a series of ripples in the water. Gazing at them as they silently moved and overlapped on the lake’s surface was soothing enough in itself, but the addition of Sona’s music elevated the experience to another tier entirely. 

For the first time since arriving in this world, Soraka was beginning to feel at peace. Although the feeling was currently tentative at best, it was refreshing for the starchild. She hadn’t realized how much she had missed feeling this way.

Finding work- musician struggles

Sona’s head laid on a table, a sigh escaped her. She is a musician in this world, but she didn't have a place to find work. The Academy has already hired her for events like parties or ceremonies, but she wont be able to live on that alone.

Even if she and her roommate were to share expenses, she still wouldn't have income for day to day life. 

This in not good.

Once again, the Chain Warden had surprised her. She stared at him for a moment, he was a faster learner than she game him credit for. 

Sona began making hand motions to show who she had meet in her time in the new world. A horn from her forehead, a rainbow hand motion, and finally motioned to him. She hadn’t meet many yet, she had seen many others but she didn’t greet them as they seemed to need space at the moment.

She strummed a few strings to show her thanks in answering her questions, shed have to remember to talk with him again. He wasn’t as bad as she remembered him being on the fields, then again the goal was to kill the other.

Thresh’s right eye widened ever so slightly, a motion to show that he’d be raising a brow if he had any. It was interesting to hear of who else had arrived, but he knew they wouldn’t be interested in speaking with him.

“So Soraka and Lux are here as well? Hm.. I wonder if only certain beings are chosen to be brought here. It seems like a nice place, but it is eerie and, quite frankly, I do not like surprises.”

He paused and his eyes returned to their normal size, the tentacle-like appendages on his head seeming to move a bit when he turns his head towards Sona. “What job did they supply you with, if you do not mind me asking?”

Sona motioned to her Ethreal and played a few notes with a smile, it was one of the only things she could do in this world. A musician is what she was born and raised to be, even if her magic did not hold the same amount power as it did back in Runeterra. 

Sadly her only issue would be finding work in the town, there were multiple places she could play at but she would need to talk with the Academy about it. Maybe she could do concerts like she did back in Demacia...

She motioned to him with a curious look, what could he be in this world? Surely he had a less...violent job then he did before his death. His physical appearance gives many the creeps, even now she still felt a little apprehensive due to his appearance.

Sona was surprised. He was willing to learn her way of communicating?! Maybe he isn’t totally rude.

She gave a smile and started to pick at her strings slowly, making sure every tone was distinguishable ask she tried to ask questions.

What do you remember? How did you get here? Who have you meet? She did her best to separate the the tones. For someone that probably had little knowledge in music it would be difficult to tell the difference. If only she could speak, the silence only bothered her in times like these.

The reaper closed his eyes so he could properly listen as well as enjoy the notes she played. It was quite lovely, but he couldn’t enjoy it forever. He knew there were questions to be answered.

“I remember everything, though I am sure that the memories of others have been altered to fit this newer reality,” he explains. “As for how I got here, well, I do not know. I was in the middle of an important task and then ended up here without any answers as to why or how.”

He takes a moment and looks down at the lantern floating by his left hand, staring into the sickly green light that emanated from within. “I have come across Nidalee, Kalista, and Darius.. but that is all for now. Oh, and you, but that is obvious,” he ends with a laugh and glances to her. “Have you met anyone that I have not?”

She created a tone of confusion with her music, she had questions. But expressing all of them was going to be hard, it took many people time to learn what her sounds meant. She knew he wasn’t dumb so he would probably pick them up as the time went on.

Thresh turned his head to give Sona a small glance at her sounds. He hadn’t entirely spent most of his time around her, so he wasn’t too familiar with how she communicated, though he was familiar with music. It was one of the Warden’s secret pleasures.

With that in mind, he decided to listen closely to the sounds she made and try to pick up on its patterns and what they meant. How hard could it be, right? “I assume you have something to ask, but it is an obvious assumption considering our current situation,” he says while glancing up to the sky. “I am all ears, then. If we are forced to live in this world for now, I may as well get to know your patterns of ‘speech’ so I can understand you.”

She felt like he could read it or see it within her body and the idea scared her. But she wanted to see if he could remember anything, hers and the few she meet so far didn’t have much. Surely the ghostly man’s mind couldn’t be as easily altered. Well… in theory.

Sona carefully walked over to the bench that Thresh sat on, her fingers positioned to Crescendo for a sense of comfort. She pulled a string to announce her presence to him, startling a man who carried a lantern of dead souls didn’t sound smart.

He never really was one to feel like he was pacing around in the dark, but things weren’t exactly going well for him. While he still had his beloved weapon and lantern, he wasn’t sure if they were changed at all. Perhaps the souls he had trapped in there would be able to find their way out and avenge themselves. He wasn’t sure and could only find out the hard way. The Chain Warden was immediately pulled from his thoughts at the sound, turning abruptly as he was caught off guard. Of course, his expression hadn’t changed at all and he merely scooted over upon noticing it’d been Sona. He motions for her to sit down beside him. “I am surprised you bothered to approach me,” he said without even bothering to say hello.

When was he even supposed to work? He also wondered if he could possibly do to people’s spouses what he did to Lucian’s. Thresh lowered the lantern and leaned back on the bench.

Sona smiled at the troubled woman, a light shake of her head to ensure she wasn’t injured. She sat down gently next to Soraka, relieved that the woman had recognized her and was just as happy to see her as she was. She wasn’t alone. Sona began to pick lightly at her Ethreal, letting the tones of them express her joy and confusion. She gave a questioning look to Soraka and motioned to the world around them. Perhaps she had some knowledge of what had happened.

“I know of a couple of other champions that are also here, and there’s something to do with an Academy and jobs,” Soraka explained. “I just wish I could find out more. Whoever left us here didn’t divulge many details in the papers they left us.”

Soraka shook her head glumly as she thought about how clueless she was. She could only hope that someone else knew something about this whole mess.

Sona sat in the small cafe, a small cup of tea held in between her hands. She watched the steam rise and dance along in the air. She mind was lost. She was wondering how she had come to this world, why the hum of her Ethreal had been so much lower. It’s like she has been silenced. The bell signaling the door rang, she looked up to a familiar face.

Lux studied the piece of paper as she pushed open the door to the cafe. The bell atop the door rang as she read the words: Barista. She had always enjoyed the sweets and refreshments from the bakeries in Demacia, but she had never had to make them herself. At least she’d get to wear a cute apron and probably get the leftover pastries. Looking up, the first thing she saw was blue hair. 

“Sona!” Lux practically flew to the table where Sona was seated and pulled out a chair. “Oh marvelous! It’s so wonderful to see you! How are things going? Do you remember me? Do you remember anything? Do you know how we got here? Have you seen anyone else? Have you seen my brother? Have you noticed how cold it is here?” Lux barely took a breath between her bombardment of questions.

Sona looked up in shock, the bombardment of questions pulled her out of her thoughts abruptly. She looked over at Lux, her light was bright as ever.

She gave the excited girl a smile and set her tea down. She would always remember the lady of illumination, she had been to many of her concerts in Demacia. She liked the girl, always a smile to every situation.

Her brother, Garen? No she hadn't seen him, nor did her memories have any clues to how the got here. Sona gave Lux a slow shake of the head but motioned to her in curiosity.

The sight of a familiar blue-haired woman broke Soraka out of her thoughts.

“Sona!” she cried happily as she recognized the other champion. She knew Sona considerably well from the time she had spent with her in Valoran, and the starchild felt a sense of relief knowing that she was less alone than she had thought she was. Up until that point, she had only met two other champions, and she was beginning to think that perhaps it would be only the three of them together in this new and confusing world. 

“Are you alright?” she immediately asked in concern. Although she had arrived in this world without a scratch, she was worried that the others may have been subject to harm by whatever brought them all here.

Soraka sat quietly on the park bench as she watched a few pigeons scurry by on their quest for crumbs. She was feeling more melancholy than usual, now that she was homesick for both the stars and Valoran. She paid little attention to how the rough, sun-bleached wood of the bench rubbed against the palms of her her hands as she laid them on the empty spaces beside her, and instead thought about how she could possibly find some sort of clue regarding how she and the few others she knew were here had arrived.

Sona walked along the path of the park, the calm of the park calmed her fears slightly. She had woken up in a room with nobody there to explain what was happening, and she needed outside air. She needs to see a familiar face, a familiar voice. Then she saw a purple horned figure sitting on a bench. Soraka! She had spent plenty time with the star child, wether it was on the fields or in the institute. She quickly made he way over to the bench and made her presence known to the still woman.

She was feeling more melancholy than usual, now that she was homesick for both the stars and Valoran. She paid little attention to how the rough, sun-bleached wood of the bench rubbed against the palms of her her hands as she laid them on the empty spaces beside her, and instead thought about how she could possibly find some sort of clue regarding how she and the few others she knew were here had arrived.

Sona walked along the path of the park, the calm of the park calmed her fears slightly. She had woken up in a room with nobody there to explain what was happening, and she needed outside air. She needs to see a familiar face, a familiar voice. Then she saw a purple horned figure sitting on a bench. Soraka! She had spent plenty time with the star child, wether it was on the fields or in the institute. She quickly made he way over to the bench and made her presence known to the still woman.
