When I was posting and sharing CC of my own, I admit, I often kept my mouth shut and skirted the edges of conflict for my own preservation and peace. But the things I've seen just from a single scroll of my feed today are truly, truly awful.

AI generated CC previews, early access CC for Paralives (an indie game IN early access), and low/questionable quality CC for sale in the Sims marketplace.

What the fuck happened where folks think any of this is okay or normal?

If we don't speak up, hold people accountable, and examine why these things are harmful, it's only going to get worse. Keeping the peace is one thing, but staying silent in the wake of the pure bastardization and exploitation of art is another.

Just wanted to say that I was also invited to join the Marketplace by EA and I have decided not to do it

I was flattered by that, not gonna lie, but knowing that my cc would be behind a permanent paywall never sat right with me and forcing people to pay that, especially the people who already support me financially seemed like such a nasty thing

I never even wanted to do early access but my shitty financial situation made me, I know some people hate me because of that but I try to return the favor by making bigger sets + regular gifts + supporting others + unlocking after 2 weeks (I know some will hate me despite all of that)

I am first and foremost disappointed as a cc customer (not just as a creator) and this situation makes me not want to support the creators that I was already supporting and I surely will not

The realization that I don't want to participate in the marketplace hit me when I thought to myself 'I personally would never pay for this wtf' + with everything else happening with EA it was not a hard decision

The support I have gotten from this community has been insane and I don't want to ruin that and take it for granted, at the end of the day, exposure is the least of my concerns, I started all of this out of pure love for the game and creating, unfortunately the money had to get involved 'cause we all got rent and bills to pay, I wish money never had to get involved in any of this at all

edit to add: I don't wanna judge others or comment on their choices, we don't know anybody's life, this is just me and my personal opinion and stance

Irks me how many people I've seen say that "Venti's secret identity isn't even secret anymore; most of Mondstadt knows who he is"

Of Mondstadt's 22 playable characters, (including Varka and Alice, excluding Venti), 7 know who he is (Jean, Diluc, Dahlia, Albedo, Varka, Alice, and Durin). 8 if you include Kaeya who based on his actions probably knows.

And the playable characters are a minority of the nation's population! You can raise the number to 9 to include Stanley, even though it's unclear if he remembers it was Venti.

9 people total! Out of an entire nation! Know that the Drunkard Bard is really their Deity.

His secret identity is very much still secret.
