MReader has a child and is a single dad who is kinda struggling with it a little. The mom had left them both. MReader never talks about the child’s mom-ever- MReader lives in the tower with the child with his teammates. Bucky and him are best friends. Bucky kinda starts catching feelings for MReder who’s a real softy. Maybe even a little shorter than Bucky?
Thanks <3

Bucky Barnes x Male Reader
"Daddy! Daddy can we get some ice cream?!" your daughter asked, bouncing on the tip of her toes as you finished answering a message you've received. After ten years, you're back home. Five years ago, you left the Avengers team to move with your wife elsewhere, wanting to support her through her pregnancy. The baby was born, a beautiful girl she gave you, and months later... she left you and your baby alone, for another man. It left you devastated, heartbroken, and anxious for the future. But for your daughter, you remained strong, wanting to give her everything.
"Not today honey, maybe tomorrow, yeah?" She pouted at your rejection, crossing her little arms over her chest. Sometimes you feared you may have spoiled her a little too much, with you being a single dad with no experience, and her being your first unique child, you truly wanted to make her happy. After five years, you came back to New York, you're home now, wondering if the team that was once your family would accept you back. "Sigh... tomorrow I will take you to the park and we can eat cotton candy, how does that sound?"
The little girl smiled again, showing all of her teeth. Now excited, she kept giggling and bouncing with each step she took as you two advanced towards the tall building of the Avengers.
As you approached the tower, anxiety grew in you slowly, very slowly. And when you were face to face with the entrance, you started questioning yourself if this was your good idea. What would the others think about you? How would they react to you coming back? Are they going to reject you?
Well, you didn't come all the way here for you to retreat at the last minute. With one last trembling sigh, you took your daughter's hand in yours. "Come on, sweetheart," you said before walking past the doors.
The reception was crowded with security staff, receptionists, and investors. Your daughter, a little more nervous with the many people around her, moved closer behind you. Your hand gave a reassuring grip to hers as you kept moving, you still had your member card on you, you always kept it because deep inside you, you knew this was truly your home. In the elevator, you could hear your own heartbeat loud and clear, even your daughter was concerned.
When you reached the floor, the bell rang, and the door opened, leading to the massive penthouse. No one was in the living room, which was weird. Hesitantly, you stepped in and looked on both sides to see if anyone was there, but no one appeared. It just made you more nervous. "Come here, Zoe," you whispered before picking her up in your arms. You walked towards the living room and sat on the couch with her on your lap, the view outside was beautiful, bringing back nostalgic memories.
"Well, look who it is." That voice, you'd recognize it everywhere.
"Tony," you sighed with a soft smile. The man came to your sights with a little smirk.
His eyes then landed on the girl sitting on your lap. "No way... who's that beautiful princess?"
Pride filled your chest and heart and you presented your beautiful daughter, the latter was staring at the playboy millionaire with shy eyes. "This is Zoe, my daughter. Zoe, say hi."
Zoe shyly waved her little hand at Tony, and Tony's smile widened. He leaned closer to her, hands on his knees, and whispered. "Tell me Zoe, do you like ice cream?" Her eyes widened with a little light in them, you were sure you lost her by now. She nodded quickly with a big, excited smile. "Well guess what? I have over 55 different flavors of ice cream in the fridge, including the Dubai chocolate one. Do you want some?" She nodded again, giggling. "Then come, let's go, I'll give you three, big balls of ice cream, different flavors." Zoe got off of your lap and quickly followed Tony. That man had no difficulty on winning the hearts of the kids. "Meanwhile you, Y/n, you should say hi to someone in special, and you know who I'm talking about." Fuck, your anxiety came back like a wave of cold water. "He's upstairs on the balcony."
Deep down, you wanted to avoid him, but your heart and mind were telling you to face him. He's your best friend, or well, you hoped he was still your best friend.
You dragged your feet to the second floor, as you approached the balcony, you saw the man you didn't want to lose. You remained silent once you were at the entrance, feeling the breeze running.
"I thought you were going to runaway again," Bucky said without even looking at you, his back still facing you. "Welcome back, I guess."
"Bucky..." Your heart ached. "I am so sorry for not keeping contact... I..."
Bucky turned around, and you were surprised to see him holding a little box in his hands. You were confused, and Bucky knew it based on your expression. "This is a gift for you, a welcome back gift. I was there when you called Steve, and... uhm... overheard the conversation."
Still registering what was going on, you got closer to him. "You- Wait, you're not mad at me?"
The brunette man grimaced a bit. "I did at first, but then I just convinced myself that it must have been for a good reason. I'm glad you're back."
You could feel all the stress leaving your body. With a kind smile, you accepted the gift. "Thank you, Buck, I'm also glad to be back."
"Daddy! Daddy! Uncle Tony has the Unicorn pop cherry ice cream I wanted!!" You heard Zoe come running towards you, and when you turned, all you saw was your little princess with ice cream all over her mouth. She quickly joined you, bouncing and giggling, and then she noticed Bucky who was now the one really confused. "Do you have ice cream too?" Zoe asked him, tilting her little head.
Bucky was speechless, his eyes were on you, then back on the little girl. "I..."
"Zoe, this is Bucky, a friend of daddy," you told her with a soft smile. Once again, you met with Bucky's eyes, you understood why he was confused, you never told anyone about Zoe. "She's the reason why I left, Bucky, this is my daughter."
Bucky couldn't look away from you, you had caught his attention fully. You were orginising Zoe's clothes and toys in the room Tony gave you for her, he also gave you a separate one, your old room. The blue eyed man observed how you put the girl's clothes delicately in the drawer while Zoe was looking for her plushies in the bag. The little girl then came to Bucky and held a white wolf plush to Bucky. "This is Wolfie! He's my favorite plushie!" she exclaimed happily.
The older man blinked in surprise, taken aback. Did the girl want him to hold the plushie? Say something?" That's... very sweet. A very pretty toy," he said, awkwardly.
Zoe smiled and pushed her toy closer to Bucky. "Wolfie likes pets!"
"Oh... right, sorry." He hesitantly went to pet the head of the toy with his metal hand.
The little girl was surprised by such a shiny arm. "Is that your real arm?"
"Uh..."
"Zoe," you called her. "What did I tell you about asking very personal questions? Come here princess, I'll tell you a bed story before you sleep."
Zoe nodded and ran back towards you before getting on the soft bed. "Can I have some milk please?" she asked as she got under the covers.
You nodded at her petition and turned to look at Bucky with a sorry smile. "Sorry to bother you, Buck, but..."
The super soldier man understood and nodded. "Sure, will be right back." But right before he left the bedroom, he asked one last question to Zoe. "With choco-chips cookies?" The little girl nodded happily, and it did bring some warm in Bucky's heart. "Two choco-chips cookies then."
Damn, right after you brushed her teeth... oh well.
Shortly after, Bucky returned with a glass of milk and a plate with two cookies, just like he said he would bring. He left them on the nightstand by the bed's side and Zoe quickly went to grab the cookies.
"Zoe, what do we say to Bucky?" you said with a knowing tone.
The girl looked at Bucky, already with her mouth stuffed with half of the cookie. "Fank you!"
"Zoe, we don't talk with the mouth full," you said quickly, but Zoe was too happy with her cookies to mind.
Bucky just smiled, the sight of you being such a soft, gentle dad was unexpected, but he liked it. Being a dad was definitely a good look on you.
Once the story time ended, and your daughter was asleep, you exited the room and found Bucky waiting outside in the hall.
"Thank you for helping, she can be a little spoiled, I know, I try to fix that before it's too late," you said nervously, feeling a bit guilty for something that you didn't truly understand.
Bucky shook his head. "No need to thank me... your daughter is really adorable."
The corner of your lips curled into a soft, thankful smile. "Thanks, Bucky."
And Bucky could feel how his once dying crush was coming back to life like an active volcano. "You're welcome, Y/n."
Bucky was asked by you to take care of Zoe while you went to S.H.I.E.L.D to do some paperwork to return as an active member. The procedure was probably going to take a while, and knowing Tony, he would spoil nonstop Zoe, which was something you kind of wanted to avoid.
So, your best friend was the last choice, as none of the other team members were free to look after her.
The once terrifying Winter Soldier was now trying to decide what jacket to put on Zoe before going to the park. The clothes you buy to her should be illegal from how adorable they are. A fox jacket, or a white wolf jacket, usually the latter one would win by a landslide, but the fox jacket comes with a little tail!! It comes with a little tail.
"I want the white wolf one! So I can match with wolfie!" Zoe said as she stood by Bucky's side.
"Deal." It is better she decides, otherwise they wouldn't have ever left the room.
Outside it was a little cold due to the fresh wind, but it was tolerable. Zoe held the metallic hand of Bucky with one hand while the other kept her plushie Wolfie close to her chest.
"So, uhm, how old are you?" asked Bucky.
"5! How old are you?"
Shit, he shouldn't have asked that question. "Let's say I'm 37." The both of them entered a mall, the place wasn't too crowded, which was perfect for Zoe and surprisingly for Bucky too.
"Can I have ice cream?" the little girl asked as she tugged on Bucky's hand.
"There's ice cream at home, with Tony and his 55 flavors."
Zoe pouted, but her little mood didn't last long when she saw a unicorn pair of shoes in a shop that caught her attention. She once again tugged on Bucky's arm and tried to drag him to the shop. "I want those shoes! Can we go see them!?' Bucky didn't put any resistence, letting the little girl drag him towards the shop.
"What do you want Zoe?" he asked gently, unsure of what he was doing.
"The unicorn shoes!" Through the ranges, she started to look for the boxes until she found them, but they weren't her size, looking too big for her.
Bucky intervened and found ones that he guessed might be her size. "Come, you can try them here," he said as he waited for the little girl to sit down on a chair. 'Try these, tell me how you feel them." Gently, he helped her remove her boots and put the pink shoes on. With his thump he put pressure at the tip of the shoes to find her toes. "Do you feel them big?"
Zoe hummed before balancing her little legs, then she shook her head. "They move."
The older man nodded. "Okay, stay here, I'll go find a smaller size." He felt so weird, as if he had adopted a child. But he couldn't lie, it did feel good somehow, especially knowing this was your child... it felt like... Bucky shook his head to remove these thoughts, he shouldn't push himself into a picture where he doesn't belong.
He came back with another box and kneeled in front of Zoe, helping her once again.
"My, my, my, Barnes! When did you become a dad?" That voice...
Bucky sighed before turning to look at the man who's known as the Falcon in the world. "Sam..."
Sam smiled and approached the two of them, his attention on the little girl before returning on Bucky. "Who's that precious little thing?"
"She's the daughter of Y/n, I'm taking care of her while he's busy with S.H.I.E.L.D," explained Bucky, finishing to put the shoes on Zoe.
"And you're buying her shoes?"
"She likes them."
Sam let out a laugh. "Ah but when I ask you for a cheeseburger, you say you don't have money."
Fuck. Bucky shook his head and waved his hand indifferently at Sam. "Listen, this is a different type of vibe. You can't compete where you don't compare," he said before going back to Zoe. "How do you feel these ones? Better?" Zoe nodded with a shy smile, while Sam was left speechless.
Another voice then joined the trio, this time, yours. "There you are, oh, hi Sam!" You entered the place with a small bag.
"Hi Y/n, can you tell your big boyfriend to be gentle with me?" asked Sam jokingly.
"My big what?"
Bucky quickly covered Sam's mouth with his metal hand, making sure he stays silent. "Nothing! He said nothing!"
You were left confused, trying to understand what was going on, before a little lovely voice interrupted your thoughts. "Daddy! Daddy look!" Zoe came running to you before showing off the unicorn shoes she had on. "Buggy gave me these!"
Buggy? You turned to look at Bucky. "You bought these?"
"Not yet," he answered. "Be right back," he said before taking the empty box of shoes to the counter.
A soft smile grew on your lips. "Zoe, tell Bucky thank you."
The little girl nodded before running to Bucky. "Buggy thank you!" She said before hugging his leg tightly.
Bucky nodded, the way you were looking at him had him blushing a bit. The softness and love in your eyes was everything to him, his heart couldn't stop beating fast. "You're welcome, sweetie."
"I brought little pastries to the two of you." The three of you went to a little park not so far from the mall. Now sitting at a picnic table, with Zoe happy with her new unicorn shoes, you placed small boxes with cakes and forks on the table. After fixing everything with S.H.I.E.L.D, you went to buy something nice for Zoe and for Bucky as well as way to say thank you for taking care of your daughter. "They're all strawberry and vanilla cake, hope you like it."
"Yay! Cake!" Zoe didn't hesitate to attack her own piece of cake, excited for more sweets.
Bucky, on the other hand, he shyle took the first bite of his piece of cake. "You didn't have to, Y/n, I swear."
You brushed it off. "Nonsense, you took care of Zoe and bought her a new pair of shoes that she needed, it's the least I can do." That was the reason, true, but you also wanted to do something nice for Bucky. No one else really knew about the way your heartbeat increased whenever you were close to Bucky. These last five years were so hard for you.
The blue eyed man shyle smiled at you. "Thanks." He's so adorable. However, his attention went on the little girl sitting by his side, Zoe had by now vanilla all over her little mouth. "Oh, come here." Bucky grabbed a napkin and gently cleaned her face. He heard a low chuckle come from you, which caught his attention. "What's so funny?"
You just waved your hand at him lazily. "Nothing, I just think you'd be such a cute girl dad."
His cheeks turned pink again, which just made you scream internally. "A cute girl dad?" You nodded again. "I- Maybe..."
When the day came to an end, Zoe had fallen asleep, and Bucky was carrying her on his arm while you carried the bag with leftovers.
"Thank you for today, Bucky, Zoe really had a great time." Your voice was a little weaker from tiredness, Bucky could sense you were sleepy.
"It was my pleasure, really, she's a good girl. A very good one." Zoe had her little face nuzzled in the crook of his neck while her arms were wrapped around his neck. She slept peacefully, letting out soft little snores from time to time. Bucky promised himself he was going to protect her with his very own life, she was too adorable to get hurt.
You smiled at him, appreciating his words. "She truly is. I hope I'm doing a good job, it's not easy... I hope I'm giving her the best life possible." A pang of sadness and worry hit you. Are the things you do, good? Are you a good dad?
"You're a good dad, Y/n," Bucky said. "The best dad."
His words took you by surprise. The best dad? A little bit exaggerated, but it did help you feel good. You yawned a bit, before letting your head rest over his shoulder as you two kept walking. "Thank you, Bucky, I appreciate it."
Bucky was melting in the inside. With a trembling arm, he brought you closer to him by wrapping it around your waist. You nuzzled closer to him, and Bucky felt like he was about to panic. Having you this close, was everything he could ever ask for.
"I also appreciate you, Y/n. A lot," he whispered.
The words he wanted to say were "I love you", but he felt it might be too soon to say these strong, special words.
On the other hand, you wished you could kiss his cheek right now. Bring him close to you, or you standing on the tip of your toes to kiss him softly.
Both of you let out a tired sigh.
"I want you," you mumbled, thinking he might not hear it.
But you were quickly proven wrong when you felt a soft kiss on the top of your head. "I want you too," a deep voice mumbled close to you.
And everything just seemed to be better, as if all problems disappeared all at once.

Quick narrative, I'm sorry, but I really love cute Bucky being a girl dad while also having a hard time to tell M! Reader how much he loves him, so he tries not to devour him with kisses.
