I was originally quite worried about the level of distortion but after not having looked at it in over a month I'm very happy, being able to tell what's going on be damned - especially since that's the point.

The distortion and framing were added to show how Ivory was feeling in this scene: panicked, scared, disoriented. I wanted it to feel confusing and claustrophobic.

I much prefer the distortion in this version over the original, it looks a lot better. Other than that I can't really compare them. I like how much closer this one is and how the framing is a bit tighter but otherwise I thing they're both good pieces.

I'd maybe try and pull the framing even tighter, to try and make it feel even more claustrophobic, and maybe make the fish eye effect even stronger, but otherwise I don't have many critiques. I'm very happy with this piece.

This drawing was partially inspired by the painting "Gas Station" by Igor Nekrah. I loved how most of the painting was shaped by assumption because of it being mostly one colour.

I feel like I ended up defining things a lot more than I should have. I didn't really trust myself to be able to get across the image I was trying to without clear lines and shading. I also feel like it's too dark. Initially the flowers and blood was going to be the only parts that weren't either white or so pastel baby pink that it might as well be white, but like I said I was worried that if the colours were too light Ivory would be lost.

If I were to redraw this I'd definitely make everything much lighter, minus the blood. I think the contrast would be a lot nicer and I prefer my original vision over what I ended up with. I also think I'd make the drawing smaller, I'd probably prefer the look of that.

On my art account ( @strangerlsart ) I always make sure the art I reblog is described whether throught alt text or in the post, if the post isn't already described in the orig post and there's no reblogs with a description it usually just rots in my drafts till I get the energy to personally describe it or until someone else has

anyways that's all context for me to say, everytime I go through my drafts and see the orig post has been updated to be described an angel gets its wings
