Arthur Loureiro (1853 - 1932)
I found an old train ticket in this second hand book I bought a while ago.
I’m wondering who was so passionate about studying Romanticism on a train from Milano to Trieste on 11th april 1988. Were they returning from holidays and studying for an exam? Or were they doing research for their thesis?
Hi, so I want to improve my drawing (HB pencil and paper, no fancy stuff) and I am not a complete novice, but pretty close to that. Do you have any recommendations for tutorials/courses that could help? Something like The Joy of Painting where I could draw along would be really useful, but I'm not overly fussy.
Hmmm must of the tutorials I find are in youtube so I´ll just link four youtube channels I find useful:
SchaeferArt: This guy is great. He has a lot of painting time lapses and if you want to watch tips on how to become better at arting he´s got some videos on how to draw basically. He also talks about color theory and stuff like that which can be very useful.
DGPaints: God, this guy´s paintings are masterpieces. Most of his videos are speedpaints, but by looking at them you can get an idea of what he does and how he does that.
Art of Wei: Okay this one is kind of a step-by-step guy. In every video he draws with pencil and you can clearly see what he is doing while he explains. His drawings range from portraits from bananas so you can find a lot of variety in his channel.
PaintBasket: I love this guy. He has also several videos where he draws while explaining what he is doing, kinda Bob Ross-ish. He paints with charcoal, oil, watercolor, pastels, and pretty much everything. I really recommend this channel.
I hope you find them useful!

NEW YEARS TAG.

i’m going to try journaling again. it’s a habit i want to get into, especially because i think it will really help me clear out my thoughts before going to bed & maybe help me process some stuff i’ve had going on in my life the past couple of years. i keep trying to do it, but i always get off track, but i’m trying again tomorrow night bc i like to wait until i’m back on campus & about to begin my routines before starting something like that.
working out more consistently. i’ve got it written in my schedule to go to the gym for cardio every mwf, & i’m going to pick back up doing blogilates. i just got so stressed last semester with my classes, & every day when i got back to my room, all i wanted to do was go back to sleep or watch netflix. it was not a good semester, so i’m going to try & stay motivated this time to keep with it. especially bc my best friend’s wedding is this summer, & i wanna feel good again about how i look when i’m all dressed up in my bridesmaid dress.
pass all my classes. this seems like an obvious one, but my grades really took a beating the past few semesters. i don’t like blaming it on my adhd or my lowkey depression & anxiety, even though i know they all played a factor into it, bc i also know i could have stepped up to the plate a lot more when it came to staying focused or finding motivation for things. i’m taking less classes that have to do with my major this semester though & more classes that i’m just generally interested in, so i’m hoping that will help with my motivation to learn since it seemed to do the trick this summer.
save up for an iphone 7. my iphone 5s was stolen xmas 2k16 & since then i’ve been using my grandfather’s old htc one. but know the screen’s cracked on it & when making calls i either have to have a mic plugged in or have the call on speaker phone. it’s a mess but it’s still working. i’m only a couple paychecks away from it, but i need some of the money on those checks for a couple other things & events coming up, but hopefully, i’ll have it before my birthday in march.
read more. it feels like forever since i completed a book for fun. i think the last time was on the car ride up to arkansas this summer where i finally finished a study in scarlet. i’ve got a goal to read an hour a day for pleasure, so hopefully i can stick by it. i used to read all the time, so much that by the time i was in 5th grade, i was reading at a 12th grade/college level. & i miss getting excited to finish a book.
