Hello all!
I will be making a small disappearance this month, as I will be going on a trip and won't have reliable internet access.
I know I'm not very consistent with posting but I do try to keep up with everyone, and alas this will have to be put on pause.

It doesn't feel like finals were only last week! I feel so much more rested, full (so much yummy food now that I'm home!) And I don't have any due dates looming over my head!
I'm still planning on reading one article for my research, but this one is my own choice and I don't have to stress over it!
Today is Christmas and everything seems so simple and peaceful since it's just my immediate family celebration today. It's nice to gather and relax with many fun board games, as is our tradition :)
What are family traditions that you enjoy?

One more day
One more day until I'm free!!
I have a Latin test tomorrow, with three parts: essay reflecting in a theme of the semester, two seen translations, and one unseen translation. Then I have to finish the semester-long essay that I've been working on.
Meanwhile, campus is slowly becoming a ghost town. The caf is more empty every evening, with the 'dinner rush' being around 50 people tonight. Most are storing themselves up in empty classrooms and the library study spaces to cram and write essays. It doesn't seem real, how empty and lonely everything is. It's strangely beautiful.
Finals will be over soon, then emptiness will set in.

GRE test
I took the GRE general test yesterday and my goodness it was loooooonnnngggggg. I felt at section 5/6 that I definitely needed a nap, then at section 6/6 most of the questions all seemed just impossible. So tired *yawn*
Hints for test takers:
If you have the ability to study for it start way in advance, use practice tests as much as possible, and build up endurance for 3+ hour test taking
Get lots of rest the night before (I didn't!)
Eat a wholesome meal (breakfast and lunch, depends in when your test time is)
Drink enough water so you're not dehydrated but also not too much that you have to pee before your little break in the middle of the test
Get to the testing center early, get comfortable with the environment (temperature, noise, overall feeling of the place) and wear comfy clothes
Leave the rest of the day open to just relax, recover, and know that however you did your score does not define you (and if you did great congrats but don't get a big head)

I found this tiny little fabric and fiber arts shop in this tiny little town and I think I fell in love! I now want to sew eight quilts, spin my own yarn, and maybe even crochet another blanket!
I did ask my mom if I could quit school and just craft all day and she said no...
Which is good because I like college and hope to go to grad school. I'll have to just craft during breaks.

I'm studying on my bed today, which might not be the best but my desk is filled with piles of books. I don't mind, my bed is more comfy... and maybe I'll take... just a short... nap... Zzzzzzzzz

A couple days ago I stayed up until 2am to study and get my life organized. It didn't fix my stress problem, but it helped me to prioritize some things and remind myself what is important to me. Hopefully the stress will go down as a function of refocusing my life.

Today I wrote out next week's plan! For each class I have to check both online and in the syllabus, because professors like to only post half online and I tend to forget we have other readings listed on the syllabus. Then I have some professors who don't post assignments until the day before :/ but that's just a part of my messy, busy life!
I do appreciate my daily tea, though! My department has a student lounge with a wide tea selection, and my professors are getting used to seeing me around the offices with my mug and my stack of papers to study. I've been getting to know some of them better and I've had the chance to chat with them outside of class, such has been nice! Who knew professors could be so fun to hang out with? (Jk I knew all along I just couldn't get past the professional barriers until we could connect over favorite tea types.)
Anyways, I am hoping to get a lot of studying in this weekend to prepare for my first test of the semester!

Wow, I'm actually feeling almost on top of things today!
It's been a long time since I've posted anything, and for that I apologise. Summer was busy with camp counseling, then the start of the semester hit me like a train! 🚂
This semester I'm taking Intro to Greek, Latin, Stress Psychology, Social Psychology, and Music Psychology, as well as doing a senior project for psychology about social media's influence on adolescent health (hmm, seems relevent!)
I may not be posting much this semester, but I'm still here!

Summer is in full swing but I'm not leaving my brain behind at school! Now I finally get to read some of those books I've been collecting during the school year. I have a lot about leadership on my shelf, seems to be a tend... Maybe I'll help me in the future!

My last three weeks of school!! I really like using the circles to capture my assignments and to do lists, it helps things seem reasonable...
Except that one Monday, that is! I got so stressed out with May 20th that I put a sticky note on top so I didn't have to look at it! :)

Even though the end of school can be very busy, I still find time to write poems every once in a while.
I decided to write this with my metallic pencils, since I bought them in December and haven't yet used them. They write really nicely! I am not so much an artist in drawing, but I think it's ok to splurge a bit for my art of poetry. ☺️
