god i can’t stop thinking of a day of fallen night. this is the sort of rich fantasy world i wish i had when i was younger. and i love how the author seems to treat the characters (and the readers) with care — there’s no trauma porn, no unnecessary sexual violence, no twists meant to punish the reader.

and the loving, complicated, decades-long relationships? the matriarchal groups, complicated religious and magic systems, queer female protagonists in their late 20s and 50s?? i’m so in love i never want to run out of pages
