What comics should i read to get into night wing and tim?
and- you don't have to say- could I get them or read them?
well - that depends. nightwing & robin, as dick grayson and tim drake, spent about a couple of decades in real life time being the only robins and developing an intense brotherhood and friendship. so there are many, many comics about them.
if you want to read about dick & tim through chronological order, there's this wonderful guide by @silverwhittlingknife that you can find here, that starts with batman (1940), i. 436 and batman: a lonely place of dying, which are tim drake's origin stories, and goes through the 90s, 2000s, and up until the reboot of 2011 with the new 52.
it's what i used when i first started to want to read comics about them, and you'll see many fans referencing the comics that came out in this time period because it's when dick & tim first forged their relationship and when they're most dick & tim centric.
if you want some individual issues that highlight dick & tim's relationship, here are some in this time period that i really love:
nightwing (1996), i. 6, i. 25, & i. 143
the new titans (1988), i. 65
robin (1993), i. 67, i. 74, & i. 76
detective comics (1937), i. 697 - 699
batman: gotham knights (2000), i. 8 - 11
if you want some recommendations for comic books that tell the grand events in the batman storyline, in the era 90s - 2000s, i can recommend you:
batman: knightfall & batman: prodigal
batman: contagion & batman: legacy
the trilogy of batman: cataclysm, batman: road to no man's land, and batman: no man's land
the resurrection of ra's al ghul
(there are more, but those are the ones i like.)
you also have the events of infinite crisis in which bruce wayne dies, and in the follow-up comic book of the battle for the cowl, dick grayson takes the mantle as batman for the second time. from this onward, i can recommend you:
batman and robin (2009), i. 20
it's not really my favourite era, lol.
afterwards, in the reboot of 2011, new 52, and the reboot of 2016, rebirth, tim suffered a lot as a character and lost most of the connections he had with his family, so we don't have many comics from him, never mind some in which he teams up with dick.
nowadays, you have a few comics that feature dick & tim team ups, but i'm not an expert in recent comics and i've yet to read through many new issues of detective comics & other batman-affiliated stories. the ones i've read that i've liked well enough are these, even if they don't focus on dick & tim, at least they're together... anyways:
batman: urban legends (2021), i. 10
nightwing (2016), i. 78 - 83
in addition to all of these, you also can read non-canonical comics that feature dick & tim, and watch animated series that have them interact, too; just keep in mind these are non-canonical and can be out of character since they follow their own timelines. out of them all, my favourites are:
batman: gotham adventures (1998)
the new batman adventures (1997) - animated series.
wayne family adventures (2021)
young justice (2010) - animated series.
