Sarcasm in Korean

HEY COOL CATS it is summer and i am back to post so imma give you a couple of my fave sarcastic expressions

as a general rule for being sarcastic in korean, the -네 ending is used often and it’s important to place emphasis on words like “잘~” “참~”

Meeting Someone New: So, as I’ve mentioned before, I use (or used to use, I suppose) hellotalk to talk with native speakers. I’ve compiled a list of some conversation starters/enders or questions that I seem to have used a lot.

이름이 뭐예요? What is your name?

영어로 말해주세요. Speak in English please.

저는 한국어를 배우고 싶어요. I want to learn Korean.

한국에 가고 싶어요. I want to go to Korea.

오랜만이에요. Long time no see.

뭐 해요? What’s up?/What are you doing?

몇 살이에요? How old are you?

제 미국 나이는 __살이에요. My American age is __years old.

거기 몇 시예요? What time is it there?

무슨 음악을 들어요? What kind of music do you listen to?

무슨 프로그램을 봐요? What kind of shows do you watch?

미국 노래를 좋아해요? Do you like American music?

미국 프로그램을 좋아해요? Do you like American shows?

어디에서 살고 있어요? Where are you living?

오늘 뭐 해요? What are you doing today?

언제 자요? When do you sleep/when are you going to sleep?

방금 일어났어요. I just woke up.

저는 잘게요. I’m going to sleep.

Here are my grades for this last semester, in case anyone was interested. I struggled a lot this year and although my education course suffered, I pulled it out with a passing grade. And I’m very happy with everything else. I’m trying not to get too hung up on my GPA. I just need to focus on doing better next semester. 

I hope everyone is doing okay. You got through finals guys! Be proud.
