I’ve been thinking about my housing situation for next year and I’m really going to try and make some major bank this summer babysitting or dog-walking so I can financially cruise through senior year of college. My friends and I found this decent unit on the outskirts of Westwood that was DUMMY cheap but it’s like a 30-minute walk to campus oof. Maybe we’ll find something nice and cheap within a more realistic walking distance!

I’m at my last semester in uni, which is daunting and scary but hopefully I’ll be able to stick to my schedule and resolutions, incorporate some good habits in my life. I’m also going out of my comfort zone by taking some creative writing courses, are any of you interested in writing prompts? Maybe we can make it a thing and do them together. Let me know x

when you find an academic source that’s perfect for your paper but it’s behind a pay wall

Deciding to cite it anyway base on the abstract, knowing your professor probably won’t go through and look up every source in works cited

if you guys want to read academic papers but they’re behind a paywall, get the chrome extension Unpaywall. when you visit a site that requires you pay for their journal to view the article, the extension will look for other open access sites that will show you the article for free, and it’s all completely legal. all that money goes to the publisher, the writer of the paper gets none of it. https://unpaywall.org

hey hey ok so i know this definitely works if u live in the uk, us, ireland, aus, nz, germany or denmark (maybe other places too just try and see if it lets you create an account)

but if ur a student and you sign up with this site called myunidays you get discounts to all these actual decent online stores, i use it all the time when i buy stuff from asos, they have a constant 10% student discount and every now and then it goes up to 20%

but yea u get 10-30% on most stores plus some other discounts, it’s free to sign up dw u just need access to your school/university email address and ur all sweet to go !!! if u have any questions just ask xx

Real talk

This whole term at uni I’ve been pretty depressed, meaning I’ve done near to none of the work I’ve supposed to be doing (other than the compulsory essays - no reading or nothing). Today, with a week left till the end of term, I’ve finally felt some of my old inspiration to get back on my feet and get working again. This is gonna be a very hard week, but no excuses as it’s my own fault.

I just wanted to explain my absence to you all and thank you for staying with me. You can look forward to more aesthetic and less depressing posts soon! 💜

First week of university update: 

I missed half of my induction because I felt ill and couldn’t face sitting through it. I accidentally ended up at the freshers petting zoo and cuddled a goat. None of my lectures have been uploaded yet, so I’ve looked at last years and made notes because I can’t stand not being prepared. One of my modules has 30 assigned readings for the first two weeks 👌🏻.
