the sisko kirk hero worship homoeroticism would be entirely reversed if kirk ever showed up on ds9 thru his own time travel circumstances because the first thing that would happen is he would meet quark and the thing about kirk is there is nobody in the entire space and time of the universe that would annoy him more than quark it would immediately be like the worst day he ever experienced it would be like nonstop torment trying to understand why these things keep happening to him and then he would see sisko tactfully handling quark or god forbid see him getting quark to kiss the nagus scepter and like it would be over for him like sisko handling quark related paperwork would be the single most heroic thing hes ever seen like he would become immediately obsessed and bewitched

does anyone else have some media where they absolutely want to see all the "guts" of how it was developed - all the behind-the-scenes stuff, director commentary, actor interviews, concept art, special effects process, script revisions, etc.

and then have some other media where you really DON'T want to intentionally try to see behind the curtain too much, you just want to preserve the experience of it in your head as an organic story that is being told to you

this is me being grumpy in the summer heat but i think that access to shade is an accessibility/walkability/quality of life issue and i'm so serious about that

i've seen the info floating around the internet (though i think the source on it is the director's commentary) that the religious medal is a st christopher's medallion (i.e. the patron saint of travellers)

interesting and makes perfect sense! i have heard multiple astronauts have taken st. christopher medals with them before.

i have always thought that an excellent fit for this story could have also been st. jude (thaddeus), a.k.a. the patron saint of desperate or seemingly impossible cases. hail mary situations are basically his thing lol
