in other news, current plant update:

the dreadful vacation drought happened (3 weeks)

most survived

the big chilli pepper did not

orchid grew all petals and lost them again (is growing a new leaf though)

a rogue date started growing out of a kernel

acquired a small olive tree

acquired a small lemon tree

aquired 3 lemon saplings out of 2 seeds from lemons in the fridge

lemon tree lost all its leaves sans 3 during The Vacation Drought

is currently growing leaves back

a begonia grew into...whatever it is that it looks like in the last post

other begonia's doing fine

small sansevieria pot was turned into 2, making the big one a grandma

a lone branch of the big chilli pepper that broke off and was put into a glass of water not only survived The Vacation Drought, but has been successfully relocated to dirt

plant cloning, fuck yeah

Hi, help

Should I cut those two branches to (hopefully) get the middle full again or leave it be because it looks cool?

As far as I can tell, they are VERY fine with cutting (and putting those cuts into water to get roots) but idk if it might be too much

New plant acquired last week. One of them flamingo ones. One of the leaves is already wonky and idk what’s causing it, but tbh it was received that way.

lmao it got infected with some sort of lice so i sprayed it with oil because internet said that works. Green leaves are doing fine but the red one is crusty and brown now

I have a habit of taking the pots of dead plants and putting them outside just to see what grows there. Usually it’s just your regular "weeds“ but one of them looked like this

What is that. It looks like an egg that split open to reveal the first tentacle of an alien creature. I don’t remember putting anything inside that even remotely looks like that egg. I mean it’s cool but also - what is that
