So. I bet you're all wondering how my plants have been, since I haven't written an update, and here they are!
The whole area is bright and green and so many plants are cramped together, here's some specific ones:
First is the tray of big tomato plants, second is the illegal tomato that has grown huge, third is my begonia flowering beautifully, and last is the two little tangerine trees getting out of the soil!
I'm at the point where I need to separate and move a lot of these plants, so I've set up my table with the most cramped pots, intent on separating them and putting them in their own little pots so they could keep growing. This took me a few hours but here are the results:
I didn't manage to separate all of them because I only had a limited amount of soil, but I'll take care of the rest soon. I'm pleased with how things are going! Everything doing fine except my onions and dwarf tomatoes but I'm not upset about it, there's always next year to figure that out.
🪴Post-Trip Plant Update! 6•18•26🪴
• Lisa(🎃) is still doing great :} She’s ditching all her buds bc I couldn’t take her out to be pollinated, but that’s ok. A few missing buds are better than being washed away in this tropical storm mess we’re having.
• Gangle(🍅) is still doing surprisingly well! Ive had to trim a few wonky leaves off, but that hasnt stopped her- and shes been growing more than enough to make up for it. PLUS!! While I was on my trip, an extra sprout came up! It’s still trapped in its seed but I think she’ll power through
• Cindy(💙morning glories) got VERRYYYY tall in the 2.5 days i was gone. I had to make a lil thing out of pipecleaners to keep her standing :}
• And BEST NEWS FOR LAST: 2 of my watermelons began to sprout! These are the first seeds ive actually gotten from a plant myself and not just out of a packet! Specifically Wally and Weslie(🍉).
The others are kinda struggling but that’s not their fault. My quick half-assed watering job yesterday pushed some of the seeds on top of the dirt. Imma fix it when the weather slacks up in a bit and makes it safe to go upstairs.
June 2021 vs February 2026
Name: [no name yet, open to suggestions]
Type: Echinopsis (probably - according to various plant identification websites I've tried, unsure about the species as well), the flowers it had when I got it were fake and I removed them.
Size (tallest one) : 8cm (2021), 42cm (2026)
Struggles I've had with it: None. This one is the chillest of my plants probably. I didn't even get proper cactus soil, it's in simple compost. I briefly considered changing that recently, but with how well it's been doing these last 4.5 years that felt unnecessary. Might reconsider if it starts looking a bit sad in the future.
Needs: bright light/direct sunlight (mine's doing well with no direct light) very well-draining soil let soil dry out between watering, then water thoroughly
I WAS GONE FOR ONE DAY!! THERE ARE SO MANY MORE SPROUTS!!
Plant update: they are growing!!!
Ugh got a cold and feel poorly…. 🤧
Not to worry though, I’m still working on my Crowley pic and keeping busy.
My dad bought me a snake plant today, that I’ve named Crowley:
Isn’t he beautiful? 😍🐍🪴
