are you in need of a new show? Can’t find a show to suit your needs of an awesome new OTP, good plot and fantastic characters? Well as soon as I stop talking like an announcer, hear me out: Stitchers.
It’s technically a crime drama and it’s aimed toward a younger audience due to being on Freeform. It currently airs there at 10:00pm Tuesday nights. Pretty much a kill slot when you consider how young the target audience is and to be honest, ten is just super late to watch a show to begin with.
So now you’re probably wondering: why the heck is Tegan babbling on about some show on Freeform? Well, because Stitchers has wormed it’s way to being one of my favorite shows and due to a small audience…it’s future is looking grim to say the least.
Hence my post. So now you’re wondering okay why should I watch this show (if you made it past my long intro). Well, I’m glad you hypothetically asked! Stitchers has a fantastic plot, even if it’s a little easy to guess sometime and takes a few episodes to get on it’s feet.
Basically here’s the down-low on the plot:
A woman named Kirsten Clark is recruited into a secret government agency to “stitch” in the memories of the recently deceased, using said memories to puzzle together why the victims were killed to begin with.
If that doesn’t intrigue you, perhaps this will:
Canonical Bisexual (or pansexual) character in the form of Camille Engelson who is played by Allison Scagliotti (who played Claudia on Warehouse 13). She’s also incredibly sassy.
Actual Cinnamon Roll Cameron Goodkin (Kyle Harris) who references Doctor Who and Stark Trek and Agent Carter regularly.
Linus Ahluwalia (Ritesh Rajan) who is adorable and kind and protective and has some of the most character growth on the show so far.
Maggie. She’s the boss of the show basically and also literally because she’s in charge of things in the Stitch lab. She’s tough as nails and you really don’t want to mess with her team. Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Eureka) plays her, which amuses me to no end since Allison is on the show too (Warehouse 13 and Eureka were sister shows).
Quincy Fisher aka the prickly detective with a heart of gold. He eventually warms up to the team and is basically a huge teddy bear.
and last but not least: Kirsten Clark. Emotionally distant but cares for her friends more than anything, insanely clever and complex as all get out. Seriously, such a wonderful protagonist.
And of course everyone on the show is so shippable and the fandom is incredibly warm and welcoming. So what are you waiting for? Try watching some Stitchers. You can watch the first whole season and all of this season on Freeform!
