This vintage Moroccan caftan that belonged to my mother gave me all the motivation to get back to blogging again. To be honest I did lose my motivation for quite a while and it got harder and harder to keep maintaining the blog. It just felt so empty and meaningless to only write about fashion and lifestyle. It all just seemed so superficial. But then it took me some time to realize that fashion plays a huge role in not just how we define and identify ourselves but fashion also includes stories, history and culture - and it's exactly that I wanna persuade to show with Style of Arabia. I wanna dig deeper into our culture, fashion history and tell the stories of the inspiring and creative individuals within our community. We need to show more appreciation for the handmade abaya's, dresses, clothes and accesories that were designed and created by hardworking independent designers who spend so many hours into creating unique pieces. Appreciation for the hijab designers that were there long before big companies started to recognize muslim women. And appreciation for the beautifully embroidered caftans that are kept for years and given from mother to daughter. (Thank you mama!) There's so many talent out there en so many stories to tell. So for now let's get back to writing ❤.
