Just bcs I’m feeling bitter about what Damon was originally vs what Julie made of him….

Book Damon being intentionally obnoxious as a FREAKING SEVEN YEAR OLD BOY to his father TAKING A BEATING WILLINGLY so Giuseppe doesn’t take it out on Stefan. No matter how you feel about Damon. It is fact his relationship to his lil brother is far deeper than KATHERINE. It started with him losing his mother after Stefan was born…aka as a child you don’t understand…you’re angry and you need someone to blame aka Stefan and being raised by a father that denies to move on so you cannot move on yourself.

Like I’m sorry but why throw that away? Damon did not move on from his mother’s death because the adult in the house did not let him to do so. The fact that Stefan in the books recalls Damon intentionally annoying his father to save him means that Damon was quite complicated. He loves and hates Stefan. Deep inside he loves Stefan but he could never mourn and move on in peace. Damon is still angry and still needs somebody to blame and that’s Stefan and their relationship is far more complicated than Katherine or Elena.

The fact that Damon loves Stefan is obvious by the fact Damon’s choice was ALWAYS STEFAN. Not Elena and not Katherine. He chose him when Giuseppe attacked him, he chose him when Katherine wanted to kill Stefan and he chose him when 6k book Klaus wanted to kill him. Neither of these 3 wanted to hurt Damon in the first place. It’s always the same pattern.
