“Oh, I understand that one. That keeps my attention of course a lot better than watching other things. Although, I do enjoy good action scenes done right as well.”
“I’m a very visual person. Pretty is great. Pretty and badass is better. Though I suppose I have something of a soft spot for pretty and badass that turns out to be the villain.”
“I’d say it really doesn’t matter how enticing the story line is if there isn’t at least one physically appealing character in the show. Or movie. Or play. You get my drift.”
“There’s nothing wrong with going for that outlet. Music is just much more natural for me. I grew up with it influencing me from my family so I guess it makes sense.”
Xiomara rose and carefully placed her guitar on a stand nearby in order to keep her attention on the other woman. She wouldn’t be rude in that manner but she could scent that she was much more than just a new face. The werewolf kept her mouth shut from that however and eased to stay on her feet.
“Name’s Xiomara. Xiomara Diaz.”
“Except for the higher probability of injury, yeah,” Shay immediately quipped, her easy smile settling on her features as she practically relaxed in the doorway. “Yeah...I can’t really say the same. No set thing that the family has taken up as a collective hobby.”
Shay had long ago broken herself of the habit of automatically manipulating everyone around herself--it came with the conscience she developed as she had gone through the trials of life to figure herself out. Instead, the small succubus just kept her easy, relaxed manner as she pushed away from the wall to offer her hand in greeting.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Shaylyn Zadeh, but please call me Shay.”
Xiomara snapped out of her semi concentration when she heard the voice and finished the riff she had strummed. Her palm muted the sound of the guitar to bring silence into the room so talking would be much easier. It had been a while since she had allowed herself to play at a faster rate to just get energy out. Nonetheless, the trick worked as the werewolf didn’t feel as agitated as she had earlier. She made a note to stick to music if she could in order to keep grounded until she had to do something else.
“Thanks, been playing for a long time now. No, it’s fine. I’m just trying to settle and music tends to be my outlet for that.”
The silence descended heavily as the music stopped, Shay’s smile slowly growing more confident as she gained a fraction more attention. She always did like some measure of attention, but she figured that was just the nature of being a species that thrived with attracting said attention. The music had the air of a venting session--not that Shay really was about to call her on it--and with everything that seemed to be happening lately, well, she wasn’t about to begrudge the other professor a healthy outlet.
“It shows,” Shay said with a complimentary nod as her suspicions were confirmed. “Don’t blame you for that. I tend to lean more toward the physical to sweat my issues out, personally.”
She had been restless for a few days and it was only growing worse. The agitation had caused her to draw away from students after class instead of her usual sticking around to talk with them. Xiomara could feel something shifting in the air and in her bones and it wasn’t just her imagination. Her senses were keen for a reason and there had been rumors of hunters around the outside area of Hexlore for a better part of a month. She had overheard the chatter once in a while after grabbing coffee or having an evening drink.
In order to try and calm to building tension in her body, Xiomara made a point of using one of her electric guitars to just play out some music. If she didn’t, she knew she’d go on a bit of a spree and not in the fun way.
Shay had been walking past, nevermind the why of it, when she heard the guitar start up. Now, normally, she’d have continued her journey and minded her own business, but the succubus found herself undoubtedly more curious than she had a right to be. She figured it was perhaps one of the seraphim, with their musical affinity it wasn’t a stretch, what she found though, didn’t seem to be one of the seraphim at all. So the small woman found herself leaning against a doorjamb and just watching and listening quietly for several moments.
“You’re good,” Shay spoke suddenly, voice cutting through the air as her eyes lifted from the strings to look at the other woman--another professor, if she wasn’t mistaken--a small smile growing over her features, “Sorry...for interrupting. I just couldn’t resist saying something.”
Hey everyone, I’m Andi. I’m 26 and live in Portland, making me PST (even if it’s a little on fire right now). I use she/her pronouns, and I’m really excited to have all the plots.
╰ ° 「 SARAH SHAHI / 35 / FEMALE / SHE/HER 」have you seen shaylyn zadeh around campus ?? they are a SUCCUBUS who used to live here on campus. apparently they teach CRIMINOLOGY and SOCIOLOGY now. some say that they are animated and kind, but can be quick-tempered and moody !! who knows though ?? maybe we’ll see them at the next party ??
So how about some basic info on this nerd.
Shay has a long line of notches in her bedpost, as befitting a succubus, of course.
She is definitely a nerd, she always has been. She picks up on most pop culture references. You can bet that she’s been to at least one Comic Con.
Despite the easy labeling as a nerd, she’s quite active, having been the captain and star catcher of the softball team in her day. She also loves to run.
She truly doesn’t understand the concept of monogamy. She wants to have her cake and eat it too, thanks.
She sometimes just can’t help a witty quip or a sarcastic comment to slip. It’s like an ingrained impulse that she’s only sometimes successful at curbing.
This has led to multiple foot-in-mouth moments, but an easy smile and bit of self-deprecation usually helps to soothe ruffled feathers, and the “kill it with kindness” attitude finishes what the humor likely starts.
She’s super competitive once she gets into the spirit of it, don’t let her small size fool you.
She loves to dance, and she’s actually got the moves to prove it. She is quite adept in most forms of dance due to her intimate awareness of her own body.
Shay is blind in her left eye due to a softball accident (which also ended her desired career as a FBI investigator.) She instead went into profiling and teaching.
She’s definitely affectionate, and definitely doesn’t shy away from physical contact in the least. She just can’t help herself sometimes, be it a hand on a shoulder, a hug, or further. She’ll take whatever she’s permitted, and not a fraction more.
In class
Her easygoing attitude easily transfers over into the classroom where her love for the subjects really shines in her animation and the rapport she builds with the class.
Be it her natural charisma, or the fact that she’s a succubus, she has a habit of owning a room when she’s in it, let alone demanding the attention as she teaches.
Her favorite subject is criminology.
Yeah, that’s probably one of the sloppier intros I’ve ever done, but definitely don’t hesitate to hit me up for plotting or connections. The nerd and I are eager to jump in.
