Anyway, now that Love Island Season Three is over, I can officially say that Season Two was the best and Season Three the worst.
Let me explain. Season Two characters add more depth than season 1 and season 3 combined. Even though they started to lose their personality after the first recoupling after Casa amor, when they first came on the screen they all had a distinct personality. Even the ones that you would take at face value as being a comedian or bossy, had more to them than that.
Take Bobby for example. Looking at him from face value, you would take him as a child like joker. But actually playing his route, you can see that he is a bit insecure and that he wants to please his friends and the people around him. Or you could say for Hope. From face value, she can be seen as bossy and materialistic. But when you actually get into her character you start to see why she is the way that she is because of her family. Whereas for season three, it seemed like they just threw a bunch of character traits on these people and didn't really bother to go into depth with it. And like for season one, you didn't really know much about the characters family and background.
The romance in season two and season one is much better than season three. I believe that if season two was a shorter season and it ended on episode 13 like season one and season three, the romance would have still been better than both seasons. Playing the first 13 days of Love Island season two, the romance and the relationship between your character and the others already has more personality and uniqueness to it. The downside of season 2 is that it was dragged out for too long and it started to lose its personality and uniqueness.
Now, I will say that season 1 had a much better MC centric drama to it than season 2. Season Two MC was a problem solver and she was rarely ever the forefront of drama. It was either Hope, Lottie, or Rahim. But never her. Season Three had NO drama and Season One was actually at the forefront when it came to Allegra and Cherrygate. So when it comes to that, Season One tops.
Overall, the ranking would be 2>1>3. I hope Fusebox gets it together for the next season and brings back what we loved from before. Actual characters with unique personalities, drama that centers around the MC, and a good romance that is unique to the characters. I think that Fusebox should focus less on more characters and more on developing their characters. Season Two started getting repetitive when they had too many different routes and Season One was good, but had less LIs. I think a max of six LIs, three boys and three girls would be good. Matter of fact, I would like if they gave us a non-binary or a trans LI as well. But this is Fusebox so....
