. . .
There's nothing here, Lucario. Let's head back.
[He does feel bad, though. Lucario had picked up on something disturbing earlier in the day, and since then, they've spent the vast majority of the daylight hours here trying to pick up that trace one more time to no avail.]
[It's actually troublesome, thinking about it. There's no reason for Lucario to have made something up like that - not that he ever would - but the fact that the aura has simply. . . vanished is major cause for concern.]
[Especially since it was apparently from something powerful enough to throw his Pokemon into a downright tizzy. It'd been a long time since Lucario last acted like that.]
Come on. We've lost our lead for now. If it shows up later, we'll check it out again. I promise.
[Lucario's reluctant to turn after him, keeping his eyes fixed instead on where the last hint of aura had come from. He really doesn't want to accept that whatever showed up there disappeared with no trace at all, and it's hard to blame him. It's honestly a worrying thought.]
. . .
[The blue-clad trainer turns his back, realizing that he's the only one walking.] Lucario. [It isn't chiding, but Riley really is serious about leaving for now. It's cold and they're both getting tired.]
[His partner makes a gruff sound in his throat and finally turns to follow him. That's when the second aura kicks in, and neither of them are sure what to make of it.]
Show yourself. We know you're around here.
