During the last year he has joined the @sudtipos team helping to produce many new fonts and also he has been working to finish "Calicanto". - Available at sudtipos.com — About Calicanto. . Alejandro Freitez’s first commercial typeface is inspired by contemporary serifs and newspaper typography. Calicanto is a compact typeface with strong serifs, symmetrical curves and a vertical axis. It has open counters and a generous x-height with slightly condensed characters and low contrast strokes. The design of its letters are simple (with a precise rationale), and it is ideal for combining different variables and typographic bodies, for digital and printed media. For many years I have been in contact with @xxdupre talking about many things but specially about how much I admire his work. Xavier its a great lettering artist and, maybe, the best of them designing fonts. His work has been published by Émigre, FontFont and many others and now, with lot of happiness, I can share the news that his font CIabatta is part of the Sudtipos library.
