I must have watched 5x8 just about 30 times by now. After completely dropping the ball in 3x10, which I mostly blame on the editors and the short notice they had to deliver S3, IMO Storer really redeemed himself with 4x10 and 5x8.

I was on my way to the gym this AM and realized that morning dates are usually cheating dates; only a couple of freaks get up that early to work out, especially on a rainy Sunday, but if you schedule a date that early, you're cheating. Syd and Shapiro met before work in the AM, and when she got to the locker room, the first thing she did was getting rid of the evidence that she had dressed up for the "date". Obviously, she never considered it a date, but a business meeting at best, but unconsciously, she did consider it cheating on her work hubby. And to add insult to injury, the first thing he said when he saw her was that she looked nice, he noticed she was kinda dressed up, and she changed the subject immediately. Oh! And btw, my former neighbor, who no longer has any business having breakfast with someone who is not his wife and the new mom of his 2-month-old baby in his old neighborhood where only gyms and coffee places are, is cheating.

Something I noticed. The last time I saw Carmy actually ate something was season 2. I'm not talking about tasting sauces, desserts, or food. I'm talking about eating. 👇🏾 And it was pizza.

It took him months to actually eat something he enjoyed. Not eating for the sake of eating or to stay alive. He actually ate something HE WANTED. 👇🏾And that was Sydney cola ribs.

But, when he went back for a second bite, or third idk lol, he didn't just wanted it, he craved it. He fell in love because of her food, just like how she fell in love because of his food. They understand each other through their food. They know how to communicate with each other using food.

C doesn't understand Carmy and that's because she doesn't understand his way of communicating.

This reminds me of the conversation they had by the freezer in snz two about the broken hand n how she wanted to understand it. Carmy is broken, but the only way to understand him is through his food (because he sucks at verbal communication) Syd could tell Carmy was drifting n disconnected from the kitchen in snz 3 n 4 bcuz she tasted all the dishes he made in those snz n understood his language.

He's definitely not leaving the The Bear. He found Love and Fun because of Sydney. She took care of him and the whole Team, bcus she knows how to nurture the people she loves/surrounded by. The wounds Field inflicted are now being treated by Syd (she is the Dr Carmy needs) not Dr. C.

I could delusional, but it kinda makes sense to me.

I'm sorry, but this is so funny to me. He thinks that any chance of any kind of good in that building started when she walked in, that her Cola ribs are better than anything he's ever made, that she's everything he's never gonna be. He believes in her more than he believes in himself. That man puts her on a pedestal. She can do no wrong. He does what she explicitly tells him to, like, 98% of the time, throughout the whole show. But then Mr. Sistine Chapel looks at her silly doodles, and when he realizes they're supposed to be plates, he lets out the most honest, most underwhelmed and slightly disappointed 'Oh,' and it's taking me out. He's really not trying to be an asshole, but this might be the first time he's known her that he's not impressed by her, and I'm eating it up. ((In his next scene, in the next episode, the first thing he says to Richie is, "You think I'm doing the wrong thing, leaving?" And I know it has nothing to do with Sydney's drawings, but the thought of it cracks me up. He clearly can't leave now, because who's gonna draw some decent illustrations of her dishes for her?? His workwife Sydney does need him, despite what she said.))

I saw a post on here or maybe on X.... I don't remember, saying that we don't know what dish Syd ate and fell in love with at Empire. To be honest I think we do. Enough information was given for us to come to the conclusion that it was the Hamachi blood orange.

Let's go down the list:

1. Syd told us she was broke. I think this eliminates the idea of her eating at those restaurants more than once. (Or could I be wrong?) I live in NYC, star restaurants are EXPENSIVE.

2. She said she spent her last dime to go to NYC to eat at a bunch of restaurants. She then said "One of those places was the best 1 she ever had". She then told Marcus it was Carmy's.

3. We later saw in szn 3 ep 1 - Tomorrow. The server comes out with the dish, placed it in front of her, n then proceed to tell her what it was "Hamachi blood orange". So, she did get n ate the Hamachi dish.

I don't know how I would feel if Chris somehow reveals Sydney ate at Empire more than once and her favorite dish is something we never saw. If that's the case, why paint such a beautiful picture of how they are connected.....then use that specific meal to tether them together. I would feel deceived. I probably wouldn't trust anything else he writes. Because, that would mean he can change the narrative of whatever whenever, and then claim we are delusional. That dish is too important for Chris to be playing games with me/us.

I really need answers! Cause Syd be acting weird, saying Scallop dish, Carmy seeing memories we never saw, and Unc J asking permission to date DD (like isn't this man married) We saw his wife at Family and Friends. They were literally sitting together, maybe I'm tripping. Chris really got me thinking nothing is as it seems, and I don't like that feeling 🤨🤨🫢

My favest thing about S5 other than the fact that WE MOTHERFUCKING WON is that Richie goes around the restaurant randomly yelling: MAXIMATION! 🤣🤣🤣

I've seen Season 5 three times.

Nothing Chris S does in The Bear is by accident (he does give off careless writing/ directing vibes) When Richie asked "Who is she" I was like, interesting question. Then Syd is like, "I'm she". Even those small details are important. And we all know Carmy is famous for saying she (as if the audience should know who "she" is) Chris is drawing a Map for us. A Sydcarmy map or whatever exciting thing his brain is doing lol🥰🥰

Maybe Chris knew his show is a love story. A romantic Comedy i guess lol. Or it just took that path becuase the main actors has unlimited chemistry. Because Nat doing the freakies in the alley during the rain...... that WAS CRAZYYY. Lol

Even though I'm happy with most of season 5. I must say:

- We got nothing solid about Syd friends or family. We saw Tina's son, Marcus bestfriend, Richie's daughter etc.

-Her dad and Carmy (this I take seriously. Her dad is a good man, and I know he wants to meet Carmy)

-The Hamachi blood orange/scallop nonsense bothers me. I don't think Chris would make such a mistake. It's a big part of Sydcarmy story. I don't even believe Syd/Ayo would forget something like that. The showrunners can just rewatch the previous seasons to make sure everything is consistent for the audience. I choose to believe it wasn'tan error, it was intentional.

-Carmy did a one of a kind dish and she got it. I wanted her to know this. It's IMPORTANT information.

- Carmy using Sydneys outfit and scarfs for his lamb dish. I need an explanation lol. So many holes, and I'm praying Chris don't leave us hanging for years.

I need a spin-off. Chris can name it "Let it rip", "It's Something", "Hamachi", "Plate" or even "Bears" . Idc, I have questions that need answer, and I need them now.

With all the craziness i juat spill 👆🏾 up there. I must say, this has been the second best fandom I've ever been apart of. Y'all are amazing, entertaining, brilliant, funny, and borderline detectives and I love itttt. I know nothing about literature, theater, or writing. I'm a Tech fanatic, that's my line of work/passion. But I'm great at recognizing patterns and I trust my gut feelings, and becus of that........ I'm here hyperfixating on Sydcarmy and The Bear. Feel like I'm playing Blues Clues with Chris and I love ittt😂🤣😂🤣
