Holy crap. I can't believe it's been 3 years already since I started this silly little fanfic. I honestly didn't expect it to receive so much love, but i am so thankful for everyone's kind words and amazing art 💕

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA omg i honestly really, really loved including this scene-- i know a lot of people love the 'Future Leonardo would hate Leo' trope, but i honestly believe if the two ever met Master Leonardo would treat his younger self with kindness 🩵 getting a chance to touch on the other timeline Leo and how he would interact with his other self was something i did NOT wanna pass up

@liz-zeee & @starryarcadesolitude you both had similar questions, so i wanted to answer them together :>

hehehe when it comes to Leo's tail, I have a lot of fun things planned-- but the short of it is, Leo still has his Krang tail because 1) he had sort of accidentally fused it with himself when he teleported it into his back and 2) i have some fun ideas i want to explore with Krang Tech where it can 'integrate' with just about anything, not just Krang.

Rest assured-- the 'Krang Bits' that were still in the tail were eradicated during the parasite extraction. Whatever fleshy-bits that were there got burnt to a crisp (ew) and eventually sort of picked out (also ew) with the help of his family.

But that DOES leave the question of 'how does it work/how is it still attached'??? Part of the problem is that part of the tail is literally IN Leo-- tangled up with his spine in a way that made it dangerous to remove. As for how it works and the possibility of removing it... that's a secret i might want to write about in the future (with, perhaps, the help of a certain rabbit samurai >:3)

Leo's tail is a fun source of conflict too. I want to explore more about everyone's feelings towards it, and how Leo's life is a bit different with it. For Leo's brothers, it was a reminder of Krang and all the danger Leo could cause with it. But for Leo.... it was an anchor. It's both a trophy and a way to ground himself. Because to Leo, having the tail of Krang One was proof that Leo had beat him, and this was all real. But he's very much aware of how much his family doesn't like it-- and that's too fun to pass up, right? mehehe

and the secret third reason he still has his tail is because i thought it would be really really fun teehee >:3c

Yoo!! I’m starting a long fic right now and I was curious as to how you plan your chapters, if at all? Low-key just curious, cause the reason I never keep going with fics is cause I don’t organise my thoughts properly ☹️

I gotta be honest, I don't really plan chapters out that much 😅

I mostly just have a general idea of where I want the story to go. I said this in an answer for a previous ask, but most of these major plot moments are already written. Everything else is just me trying to get from Big Moment to Big Moment and aren't necessarily planned out in huge detail...which is why I thought he parade flashback would be 3 chapters and is now 7 😬

So the most I have in the way of "planning" is random scenes or even just snippets of dialogue in a "master" Word document that's about 200 pages long, with everything (more or less) in chronological order. I work on a new chapter in a separate Word document and pull relevant pre-written scenes from the master doc if they happen to fit into whatever chapter I'm working on.

I have absolutely zero idea how many chapters Reciprocity is going to be. I know the overarching plot and themes, but I discover new ideas and details as I'm writing. It's just way more fun for me that way 🤷🏼‍♀️ I like giving myself the freedom to pivot or go on a bit of a side quest if a new and interesting concept reveals itself along the way.

I'm sorry if that's not helpful! My sister @sugarpasteltmnt had all her chapters for The Neon Void very meticulously planned out and I'm always SO jealous of how organized she is. Her chapter outlines were like, a work of art in themselves haha

She might have some better advice about planning out chapters! She can also probably vouch for the fact that I'm a "figure it out as I go" and "shoot from the hip" kinda person in all aspects of life, not just writing lol

me, after hearing that i successfully tricked my sister into thinking i had it all figured out and that i also don't just dump scenes in a word document and then try to figure out how to connect them:

LOL but seriously, i was honestly writing based on vibes. I'll take this chance to yap about how writing TNV went down tho (˵ •̀ ω - ˵ ) ✧

When i first thought of my own spin on the "Leo gets stuck in the prison dimension" trope, I actually thought more about his recovery days

First, a disclaimer-- I had written a LOT of TNV long before i thought of posting it. I was writing it for my own enjoyment, but it started to get so beefy with plot I considered sharing it with other people. Writing a story that appeals to YOU is the secret sauce for long fics. Not every part will be fun to write, but if there are scenes that you obsess over it will be much easier in the long run.

And at first, I only had two scenes in my head I absolutely wanted: the ofrenda and the Key's destruction.

And actually, a lot of things were actually whipped up on the fly! For example, Leo's one-on-ones with each brother during the Thanksgiving chapters was completely 100% on the spot. Originally I had just planned on him goofing around and leading them on wild goose chases. But as I got into it, it felt very natural for him to do one-on-ones with each of them. (It's something I'm really glad I added last second.)

I have a tendency to think about a story's dramatic climax or ending before I even think about the start, and sometimes that helps me finish because i just wanna get to the cool dramatic ending haha! But don't stress if a fic idea you're writing falls off for you-- writing is all about having fun!! As long as you're having fun the words will come to u :3
