He didn’t know why he got an invitation to this thing. He barely knew anyone and it wasn’t like his company was the best to have around at social venues as large as this one. Hell, his company isn’t really appreciated around many social opportunities at all.
But now here he was, standing at the double doors leading to the mansion’s foyer while waiting for his ‘date’ to show up. Or could he even call her that? Their agreement was more along the lines of just having someone else to go with and not looking like complete wallflowers during the evening than them actually liking each other. Batter was sure of how much tolerance he had for the Zone 0 maiden, but she herself was a bit of a loose cannon. He wouldn’t know what to expect.
Nonetheless, he made the trek all the way out to this sector despite wearing something so light as compared to other venue goers. He didn’t bother with a stuffy suit, always preferring to be in something he could move (and purify) easily in. The baseball cap he was so recognizable for was going to stay, obviously, and his bat hung loosely at one of his belt loops.
Hopefully he wouldn’t have to make use of it.
The situation was amusing- a good way to pass the time. Inevitably all this talk about a ball and dancing piqued the woman's interest. And who better to dance with than someone who is both dear and frightening? Though it seemed as though the other inhabitants of the other zones seemed to harbor ill feelings toward the guy, she was not a sore loser like the rest.
She had found herself trekking around the entire city in hope to find the place's location, yet she lacked any luck in that area. The city's vast nature rivaled that of her own world, actually. Carefully, she attempted not to trample over her long dress while walking; she couldn't understand how women could wear such an attire comfortably. The woman also failed to understand how women could afford these dresses. Simply taking one seemed like the easiest route to take. Regardless, she made sure to take a dress that was not too clingy; how could one even manage to dance in those?
Alas, growing noises began radiating in the direction she had been heading towards. Her footsteps hastened ever so slightly as she continued forward, her candy dummies trailing behind her despite their current uselessness. In front of her she saw the entirety of a large building and many people scrambling in and out of the place. Hidden hues landed upon a familiar sight among the moving bodies. A baseball cap. Lips tugged into a wide grin as she continued to her destination as hushed giggles fell from her mouth. Finally, she was within arm's reach, leading pale digits to wrap itself around the male's forearm.
" Hahaha.
You were easy to find. :-)
We should go inside.
I hope they have sugar there.
It looks like you brought your bat.
That's nice. :-)"

Bonus points if you give me a topic on what to give bad advice on!

The man on that sweater is so large.
His eye that is lighting up looks funny too.

57. Our muses are destined to find each other when they’re both lost and scared
Perhaps it was ill advised to carry on through the underground districts without fully knowing how to navigate. Sucre merely wished to trek through a new area and she knew that a mysterious district was located beneath Sector 5 where she had been living.
Expecting wondrous and amusing sights, she found herself in a deserted and dim library. The atmosphere was far too similar to a certain zone from her world. Occasionally, she overheard rustling coming from a source other than her footsteps crushing papers that had previously been attached to different books.
She kept the strings of her candy puppets between her fingers despite knowing that they were nothing more than a memento of her previous world. The environment made her uneasy; there was a reason she had decided to keep herself stowed away in a basement and isolated from the rest of her world, after all.
The light in the area had increased slightly as she continued walking forward. Orbs crept downwards as she began observing the papers underneath her feet. Most of them appeared entirely illegible.
Suddenly, a lack of concentration led her to a head-on collision with another being. Eyes hidden by bangs widened, but muscles loosened once she actually viewed the other being; it seemed to be a lost, pretty being.
" Hahaha I almost though you were a spectre.
Are you lost too?
Maybe we can find out way out together.

Haha. I think dancing sounds more fun.

// Good evening, Hive City. It’s come to the attention of some that this holiday season has started.. rather grim. There hasn’t truly been any sort of merriment or revelry to be had by all. So let’s change that, shall we?
On Saturday December fourteenth, a large ball will be held in this city, courteous of Prince Edward. This is a very formal event, everyone is expected to wear their best. Invitations will be sent out and are required to gain entry. Upon arrival, guests will be given a blue ribbon to tie around their wrists as both a memento and a means to show you may come and go as you please.
This city has seemed to sap the joy out of it’s residents, spend an evening enjoying yourselves and simply being happy. We hope to see you all in attendance.//
—-
[[Alright, people, here’s the deal. This city’s been sad as hell because of the latest event and I think it’s time to have some fun, so here’s what’s gonna happen. Reblog this post once, just once, and your reblog will count for an RSVP of sorts. Once you’ve reblogged this post, MAKE SURE YOUR SUBMIT BOX IS OPEN. You’ll be sent an invitation that way.
Obviously, not everyone’s going to be here on Saturday, so the next week of replies will count towards the ball. Just tag your open with #Citta winter ball or #Citta mini event. It’s not an official event, it’s just something fun to do for the holidays to get rid of the pain and sadness of breaking our muses for a while.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or Kat! I can be found here, here, and here. Kat can be found here. If you need a skype, just ask! We hope to see guys enjoy yourselves!]]
// yo if anyone wants to go to Sucre's off rad world or if you want her to visit your rad ass world then let a brother know. otherwise, I may just do an emotional drabble. v u v

What a crock of shit he had gotten himself into.
He had been around the world, seen it’s hidden wonders and darkest monstrosities it had to offer. Yet, he had never heard of Hive City. It seemed like a dirty, nasty place. Sort of like New York, if you could take the worst parts of the city and multiply it. However, that didn’t really matter to him. Sure, Hellboy enjoyed being the world’s top paranormal investigator. It came with it’s perks. See the world, try new food, meet good looking girls. He was able to do all of that.
But here, he was free.
He didn’t have to hide his face or worry that BPRD was following after him. For once, he could do whatever he wanted. Yeah, people were going to stare, but HB could get over that. Yeah, he was going to miss Abe, and Johann, and Liz. Boy, was he going to miss Liz. In his mind, however, Red was just going on a little well deserved vacation. Those scientists couldn’t have been serious when they had said that this was his new home, could they?
Getting off the subway, he was already attracting attention. People stared and pointed, but he couldn’t be bothered. Walking into the the first district, he was on the hunt for food. Most importantly, his favorite food: Baby Ruths. He could always explore later, but for right now, Red thought it was best to take things slowly. Get used to the place, find his apartment. Collect more cats. He wasn’t too worried. He would get himself out of here when the time came.
Up ahead seemed to be a general store, a place that would sell candy back home. Keeping a steady pace, what he did not know was that in that moment, the buildings were beginning to shift. He stopped, staring at the building in complete denial of what he was seeing. The store was shifting fast, the entrance and the back door sliding between an alleyway leaving only a brick wall. There was only one thing to do.
And that was to run and smash through the wall.
Running fast, Red closed the distance just as another building was closing fast behind him. He was praying that he was able to break through with the right amount of force, and he was right. With a crash did he land into the store, the sounds of screaming and bricks following entered his ears. God, could people just stop with the screaming. Standing up and dusting himself off, Red strolled cooly amongst the aisles, finally finding a box of his precious candy bars. And yes, he was taking the whole box.
Throwing some cash onto the counter, he mumbled a friendly “Keep the change.” to the frightened cashier. He walked outside, the store no longer wedged between other buildings, but now he was somewhere he had never seen before. Great.
Ripping open a candy bar, he took a large bite as he picked the first stranger his yellow eyes found.
”Hey, you- where the hell am I?”
Saying that Sucre was making a smooth transition into her new area of living would be a lie. However, unlike many others with rocky transitions, she wasn't bitching and moaning about how much her previous universe was missed and how she desperately needed to go back. Hell, she felt pure delight in simply being alive once more. Unfortunately, this world's logic seemed skewed compared to her older world. Unintentionally, the woman struggled between deciphering what is considered "right" and "wrong".
The woman found herself in Sector 1 on this day; the sector brought her much joy. Finding the right building and then trying to get into said building served as an exciting challenge until she had grown accustomed to it. In her hands, the woman had some of this world's credits that had so graciously been bestowed upon her by the scientists that had placed her here. They supposedly gave everyone some of these credits to purchase basic necessities, but all the female needed was her sugar. Her reliance on this element was clearly existent, yet not to the extreme extent that it was back in her own world.
Arm extending to open a moving glass door, hues observed citizens so kindly giving looks of curiosity while quickly looking away, probably because of her exterior. Regardless, her legs carried her straight towards the candy aisle; she had discovered the most delightful candy that came in little tubes and was essentially colored sugar. Grabbing as many as she could purchase with the credits on her person, she went to the cashier and paid for her items. The process was dull, but she remained unsure if she wished to become a "bad guy" figure once more.
A few steps outside of the door, a loud crashing noise interrupted to peace behind her. Naturally, her lips tugged into an even wider smile as she turned around to view the damage. This was definitely entertaining, even though one's amusement with a shattered building could only last for so long.
Alas, the person who had seemingly caused the accident emerged from the building and seemed to be calling put to hers truly. Perhaps this day wouldn't be so dull after all.
" Hehehe. You're in sector 1, but you may already know that. "
Orbs observed him further as she began consuming her purchased candy, noting his larger stature and that this man was perhaps one who she could enjoy dancing with; however, his aura was not threatening to the woman, so there was no need to dance with the guy.
"I can't give you the exact location, but I can help you get out of here. :-)
Oh, I see you have candy.
I have good candy too. :-) "

{ stolen sugar is the sweetest }; ca intro
An alarm’s ringing in the distance but Soujiro’s hardly paid attention to the ruckus. The city is never without noise, and he’s more than once turned away in apathy at crimes being committed before his eyes. Chaos and struggle amounted to survival of the fittest; it was only the natural order of things.
When he feels someone wrap an arm around his, he tenses up at the uninvited touch. He’s been on edge given his recent brush with death, but the fight or flight instinct is quickly suppressed, replaced by an unassuming smile as he regards the strangely-dressed woman with a curious load of sugar under her arm. It’s bold of her to be admitting a crime up front, but as strange as her behavior is, he’s not one to judge.
"Usually if it’s already set off, people don’t worry about turning it off and make themselves scarce! But then again, most people steal things more expensive than sugar. You must really like sweets to go to all that trouble to obtain it."
Unfortunately, it’s not quite the time for small talk. Footsteps in the distance grow audibly louder as a man in uniform looking none too pleased appears in the distance, already waving an arm to signal to his colleagues and shouting. “They’re over here!”
Oh. Had he been lumped in with the crime? This was the moment a nobler person might have tried to restrain the stranger until the police arrived, but to be honest, Soujiro’s not fond of the police. He’s lived too much of his life on the other side of the law that this scene was hardly new.
"If by dance you mean run away, I think this would be a good time to dance." He remarks rather casually, despite their predicament. “Why don’t we exit the stage that way.” He indicates an alley to the left with a nod of his head, pulling her along. In his months here, he’s familiarized himself with the twists and turns of the streets that it wouldn’t be difficult to lose a couple policemen.
For a brief moment, the woman's countenance grew stern as a product of confusion. Catching this change in her exterior, she brushed it off with her usual giggle as a grin reappeared once more. This place's logic seemed skewed; usually if there was a problem, one would have to figure out how to solve it before progressing any further, yet the male had stated that they had to make themselves scarce, because she was "stealing". It was almost as if a step was missing here, yet she couldn't argue with one more savvy of this world's ways than her.
Keeping an oddly lighthearted expression, she turned to view the men that this stranger had been looking at, giggling because she felt as though they looked funny running with such serious expressions. In her opinion, she had done no wrong, so why were their masks so solemn?
" Haha. No, that's not what I meant by dancing. :-)"
Although she had planned on saying more, her arm was tugged further; how funny that the roles had been slightly switched! This temporary puppeteer seemed to know where he was going, considering all the twists and turns taking place. She couldn't recall using her legs this much in a while and she couldn't help but delight in the activity. More and more so, the sounds of following footsteps and yelling grew stifled. All hopes of dancing with these running men seemed lost, but maybe it was for the best.
"Are those men stronger than you and I? :-) That must be why we're running so fast. "
Shifting slightly, she gained a better hold of the sacks of sugar her arm had wrapped around. She felt her arm growing tired- a sensation she hadn't felt in a while. Yet, she knew she would have to persevere for her precious items. Alas, hues were drawn from her item back to the person who was "assisting" her in this moment of "need".
"Hehe. I can tell you have been here for a long time. "

★ It had begun a day like any other. The sky was blue, the breeze pleasant, it was the perfect say for some shopping! Wendy wasn’t the type to fill up her room with useless clothes or knick-knacks, but with winter coming ever closer and light snow beginning to fall from time to time, she’d realized it was probably for the best that she picked up some warmer clothes as she’d arrived in Hive City on the verge of the previous summer.
She’d spent most of the day in the shopping district, hopping from shop to shop and spending a good chunk of the money she’d earned from working with the Les Amis. In the end, her tiny form was practically covered with bags. From sweaters, to new bed sheets, to a new bubblebath solution she’d seen on sale, she was pretty much set for the next little while. In fact, she’d resolved not to buy anything else at all, and yet…
It had caught her eye in the end — a small day in a shop window on the outskirts of the shopping district. It was plush, with cute button eyes and a slight smile, dressed in an elegant pink dress. As mature as she tried to seem, Wendy ultimately had a soft spot for cute dolls like those, and before she knew it, it was snuggled up in her bag. The shopkeeper had even given it to her for a really low price! It was almost like she was trying to give it away!
But as her trip back to her apartment at Z-5 was beginning to come to a close, the weather kicked up. Wendy, sensitive to the flow of air currents because of her Sky Dragon Slayer magic, noticed that there had been something very wrong with the flow of air. Unnatural. But it brought with it heavy rain, wind, and lightning that coaxed her into what seemed to be a mall. She’d thought to wait out the storm along with all of the others that had crowded in to seek shelter, but suddenly the lights went out.
It was an unnatural darkness. Even though the windows had been there, no natural light seemed to seep into the food court she’d seated at. Pure darkness and, while the room had been full of people last she’d checked… pure silence. “H-Hello?" she called out, her tiny form trembling a little as her head went from side to side in search of something, anything.
She received no response, saw nothing, but eventually light returned. It wasn’t the light from the fixtures, however, but rather… where was it coming from? The windows were boarded up, everyone inside had disappeared except for her, the mall in general broken down and looking like it had been abandoned for decades…
“H-H-Hello!?" she called out again. It was the natural thing to do, wasn’t it? She was panicked, but she still managed to move towards the exit. She could still leave, right? That would fix everything, right? None of this made sense! But what awaited her at the exist was something she didn’t expect… The doll. It was just floating there. She approached, of course, but before she could touch it, she was pushed away by an invisible force with a yelp.

A song, eerie and unknown filled the mage’s mind. It triggered an alarm. She couldn’t stay here. She was in danger. Something wanted to kill her. She ran. Bolted. As fast as she could down the hallway. Whatever it was, she couldn’t let it catch her. She couldn’t see it following her, but she could feel it. The halls were dark, abandoned, decrepit, like a haunted house. And before she knew it, she’d turned a corner and smashed right into someone, or something, throwing her to the ground in tears. “P-PLEASE DON’T HURT ME! I’M SORRY! I’M SORRY!”
Boring, boring, boring.
Even with sacks of sugar embellishing the floor around her, she wished to do something more with the rest of the day. Besides, the sugar in this place didn't taste like the one back home- an acceptable replica, but not necessarily preferred over the other.
Reaching in one of the bags, digits clenched as they grabbed a handful of sugar. Grains slid from her grasp and onto the floor; however, she had placed a sufficient amount in one of her pockets. Hopping up from the floor and onto her feet, she mentally prepared herself to partake in submersing herself in the outside world.
Flats carried her from outside her room to outside of her apartment complex in Sector 5. Almost immediately, gloomy weather had taken over the scenery as many people began dissipating from the streets as they entered select establishments.
The woman would have continued with her journey outside; however, an interesting looking building had caught her eye. It actually left her with traces of nostalgia centering around her own universe. Curiosity guiding her steps, Sucre entered the ominous building.
Creaky fixtures decorated the dark location and there seemed to be no beings in the place, but she knew far better than to assume such a thing without exploring first. For example, many spectres liked to sneak up on people in her old world and very rarely could one predict their arrival.
Following her instincts, she trekked further into the closed down establishment, turning many corners while forgetting how to find the entrance once more. Listening carefully, voices seemed to be radiating from the distance until it ended with abrupt footsteps growing louder and louder.
Crash.
From what Sucre could sense, a startled young lady was the culprit. Unfortunately, the woman had no clue as to how to calm the nerves of a young person- or anyone for that matter.
" Hehehe. I won't hurt you if you give me all of your credits. :-)
...
Just kidding.
This place is interesting.
Are you exploring too? :-)
You seem kinda alarmed. "
