Trashette/Country Coquette
babe wake up. new coquette subgenre just dropped. introducing country coquette/trashette. This is NOT to be confused with Farmers Daughter. Because I already know some mf is gonna tell me this is already a thing. This is a more rugged vibe but still has its feminine elements, opposed to the hyperdaintiness of the aesthetic, also i honestly can’t find any nuance for farmers daughter core other than the X movie and pearl. It’s honestly if coquette had a REAL country trailer park girl twist. Not just aesthetic pictures of a suburban girl in a field. It has personal meaning and influences in the origin which someone out there will probably resonate with. But also if you just like the looks/aesthetics thats great too, because it’s something that can constantly evolve and be contributed to. which is literally what i’m doing rn, contributing to coquette and evolving it. I guess that’s an element of it, not giving a fuck. Do what u want and put your own twist on everything and make it yours
i combined the two terms because it incorporates two different things, but you can pick and choose as you like and be one without the other of course. i wanted to make a subset of coquette that i could really make my own and resonate with. i wanted to embrace the country side of myself and give my old appalachian/southern roots a fun and girlish twist with coquette vibes while still including trashy trailer park girl elements. it’s kinda just me in my day to day life. i’m separating emo/scene (im emo) from this subcategory BUT trailer trash fashion incorporates a LOT of y2k style clothes which were really popular with emo/scene people! of course sometimes the subaesthetic can embody an edgier look.
this also incorporates the aesthetics of trailer trash and americana, which is where the trashette part comes from, it’s not always associated with being country, but in my case it is bc of my upbringing. no i don’t think trailer trash is bad or mean to say as long as you describe yourself. personally, i’ve lived in parks all my life and the simplicity is not something i’m ashamed of, as a matter of fact i think it’s beautiful. i honestly think the term has become more lighthearted over the past couple years. with taking inspiration from the clothes of saw growing up, elements of coquette, trashy americana vibes, here it is
MOTIFS: Every aesthetic has its “things” and I know it’s hard to find compiled lists of said things especially for such niche aesthetics so i’m just gonna leave it here. also this is just a thing to help branch out into finding your own stylistic/aesthetic choices
