Hi i'm writing on behalf of Medomak Camp in Maine to get the word out to former camp counselors about their next step in summer camping...FAMILY CAMP- in need of a bit more mature job?--it's still working with kids, still needing the charisma and stamina of a camp counselor- yet- you don't take care of the kids all night (they go back to their cabins with their parents), and you get to meet and hang out with adults and have real long lasting connections made. Your focus at a family camp really becomes about making camp a better place and making it a well rounded experience for all ages, instead of draining yourself as a kid sitter all day.
Medomak is a beautiful camp located in Washington, Maine- I had no idea the connection and love I would gain for family camps (coming from kids camps myself) until i tried it out 3 years ago.
so if you're looking for a great camp job again, a personalized experience, small staff, all the fun of camp and kids but the ability to be yourself just a little bit more and gain amazing contacts with adults from all over- check out Medomak and apply if it seems right :) Or if you have personal questions feel free to contact me on my own blog!
thanks for letting me post here! i just really think more counselors should look into family camps after doing kids camps.
