She hissed at him, feathers puffing out like an angry owl. She was trying to make herself look larger.
“Oh no. You are now slightly larger thanks to a parlour trick. Try adding an extra foot to your height and your disguise might even intimidate small children. I know you have more up your sleeve.”
“You can’t lecture me about size when you don’t even have half a body. Get the fuck away from me and my boy. I already have to deal with one of you fuckers, I don’t need another one.”

“And yet, here I am. Or do you need proof?”

Talon narrowed his eyes, firmly. He sighed. “Bah, shadows don’t scare me. I work with them.” Talon didn’t understand how dangerous of a demon nocturne was, or what could happen to him. He wasn’t exactly sure, but something about the creature was off-putting. He felt uneasy, like something was invading his mind.
“Your luck has allowed you to find the shadows that are empty. Unfortunately, your luck has run out, and you’ve finally come face to face with what lurks in the dark corners you thought you mastered. And what luck for me, that I happened upon a meat suit tough enough for me to wear, so that I may leave the shadows and into the light.”
“I would not bother praying to whatever gods you believe in. Either you have greatly angered them, or they simply favour me. Now, move your soul over, and make room for me.”
And with that, the creature allowed itself to fully become black mist, which immediately swarmed over Talon, hurriedly invading his eyes and mouth.
"I suppose my nightmare is...well, I'm not sure."

There is another one now. Here. One of us. I fear the foundations that hold our worlds together are growing ever thinner. Soon we may not be as we are.
“This is good news, for as the threads of fate unravel, we are free to grasp at the frayed ends and tear the fabric of reality asunder. More hands means more can be accomplished. Break down the foundations, and the rest will crumble, leaving nothing left for these miserable meat bags to use to rebuild.”
Well certainly it’s a phenomenal opportunity from that perspective, but you do realize we are a part of this world now, yes? Whether we like it or not. If our respected dimensions of manifestation are to unite or be destroyed fully, what do you suppose will become of us? Will we merge? Will we be lost?
“There is no way to know. Perhaps we ourselves will alter to fit the new world. Perhaps we will simply cease to exist as new ones take our place. If we are changed, are we the same as before, or are the new beings to replace us and our current selves simply being altered one and the same? Does it even matter, since we as we know it will cease to exist either way? Or will we continue down our path while new worlds are created to fit these changes?
Does it even matter, considering there may be an absolute end to all our existing selves? Perhaps things truly are eternal, which means after enough ages every single one of us will have finally encountered our demise. But we are not in a position to halt or alter these changes, I suspect. All we can do is wait for forces even greater than us have finished their work, for better or worse.” @tantibus-aeternam

So if this creature in Lux’s new lore is Nocturne(of which I’m confident it is) then I’ll probably end up doing a bit of reworking for my Noc. I’m excited to have more to work with, part of why I’ve gotten so lazy with him is because almost everything of his old lore doesn’t match up with the current verse–I’ve pretty much been waiting for this so I could get back into developing the character more seriously. But I really hate to erase 4+ years, so any changes will likely be integrated with my current canon to some degree. I’ve been attempting to line things up to where doing that will be feasible and not too forced or messy(albeit slightly complicated) and now that I have more to go on I’ll probably start up with this soon.
