He had done it. The damn scarf was finally finished. After wasting balls of yarn after yarn, the scarf had come together. Long enough for two people to wear (or more, but if anyone other than himself wore it with Kane, then he might strangle them) it would be just something for the two of them, something to keep them close.

Without knocking, he barged into the other’s house, loudly declaring that he was coming in, whether the younger boy wanted it or not. No response. Typical. A loud sigh filled the home, just like the sounds of steel tipped boots clanging against wood. Seeing his target in the kitchen, shoulders as pale as pearls and hair colored sapphire. When his head turned and eyes met his, he was greeted with turquoise stars.

“Oh, you’re back. I was getting started on dinner,” the arches of his mouth curved into a soft smile, eyes holding a gentle gleam to them, “or would you prefer a bath? Or….” He pressed up against the older man, his eyelashes flickering up at him, “….Do you want me….?”

Damnit. It was all too much for him. From the long lashes to his exposed pale shoulders and taunting eyes, Kane knew how to make him break. WIth focus gone, he gripped the boy’s shoulders tightly, tucking his shoulder against his chin. His voice was breathy and light, his next words being, “You-”

“Just kidding.”

The brat looked up at him, a smug grin spreading across his face. Aster could only look in horror as the small boy moved away from him, looking pretty pleased with himself in this moment. Those once gleaming eyes of his now lacked their luster, but still kept a gleam of mischief to them. Suppressing his urge to strangle him, Aster through the scarf at him with a huff, looking like his typically grouchy self, “Treating me like this….even after I spent all my time making this for you….hmph.”

Kane looked at the broken mess of a scarf, eyes wide in surprise. His fingers threaded through the fabric, careful not to unlace any loose pieces of yarn. He looked…..nostalgic, as if seeing something that gave him the warm feels. For once, Aster had never seen him so genuine, so wistful. It was like another person was there in the normally snarky boy’s place, but it wasn’t.

It was still his Kane, still his mate. With warmth filled eyes, the blueberry looked up at him with a smile, a tearful one at that. It shocked Aster to his core and….he couldn’t stop himself from reaching out to the boy and engulfing him in his arms. Despite his tears, he was happy and warm.

“My mother gave me a scarf, said that as long as it blows in the wind, she’ll be able to find me,” he explained, his turquoise eyes reflecting the tears, “When I started to live with my uncle for a bit, I lost it, ripped or destroyed I can’t remember but….” He looked up with glassy eyes, a joyful grin all across his face, “Now I know….that you’ll always find me….even when I fly away….”

“Ah… Forgive me, I was following the sound of your footsteps…” She paused, looking up as she held her hands out to feel the rain. “I wondered out a little farther than I meant to…” Altair smiled sheepishly, reaching her hand out to grab at the air, struggling. “There’s nothing but trees and bushes… so I can’t feel around.”

She blinked at his comment, a light blush dusting her cheeks as she beamed. “Thank you very much, you’re too kind.” She turned slightly, hoping she was facing him- which, she wasn’t; she was quite literally staring at a tree- and extended her hand. “My name is Altair, It’s nice to meet you, stranger.”

He laughed, his own laugh sounding weird to him. Even though this was his own body, he had never had total control over it so everything felt strange. He took her by the shoulders, gently guiding her towards him, “You’re staring at a tree and the trees don’t talk here, I’m afraid.”

 He looked around helplessly, “I would take you back home, but….I’m lost as well.”

“Ah, truly? That sounds very lonely…” She paused nervously as she realized she honestly didn’t have many friends to conversate with either- even her brother didn’t talk with her very much. The closest thing she’s used to are the birds, and as much as she wish she inherited her mothers talent, she cannot understand them.

She paused for a second, tilting her head confused before deciding that it was rude to ask too many questions to someone you had just met. “Oh? The trees? Oh gosh, I’m sorry!” She looked up at his face (well- she assumed she did) and moved her hands out to grasp his face softly. “Ah yes, there you are!” Altair grinned triumphently.

“Don’t worry, I’ll find my way eventually !” She then became aware of the rain once more, blinking some droplets out of her eyes. “Though… Not sure how long this rain will last… I hope there isn’t any thunder aha…” She shivered, skightly cold.

A confusing predicament indeed- one her father has also told her used to scare him. “It must’ve been scary... But the world truly is wonderful, I hope you’re able to see more of it !” She excitedly clasped her hands together in response.

“Soft?” She rubbed her left hand with her right, smiling softly. “I suppose, I moisturize a lot.” She hummed. Altair giggled again at his reaction, wishing for a moment that she could see his expression.

She took a double take for a second, nuzzling into his hand slightly. “If you’re sure, I wouldn’t want to slow you down !” She silently wished that it was dark enough for her to even sort of comprehend the area, but there she was, blind as a bat.

"Hm?" Taka hummed, looking behind him at the rose haired girl. The voice in his head told him to eat her, whispering on how sweet such a being would taste like. Fortunately, eating strangers wasn't something he did anymore. Rain poured down from the sky, hitting at his umbrella, "You look lost."

“Ah… Forgive me, I was following the sound of your footsteps…” She paused, looking up as she held her hands out to feel the rain. “I wondered out a little farther than I meant to…” Altair smiled sheepishly, reaching her hand out to grab at the air, struggling. “There’s nothing but trees and bushes… so I can’t feel around.”
