[OOC] I really hate that I have to do this. My mother really doesn't like that I'm roleplaying. I've been talking about it nonstop and it's been driving her crazy, I guess. Anyways, she's making me delete my account....
She gave me some speech about copyright and using my talents in more productive areas...
So this is my official resignation. Sorry, Kat. And everyone else. Lenne has to go.

I never said that there is a soul in this world who is truly happy. You are picking parts of my argument and changing my words. There are the minority who will pick at every fault that I do, it is human nature. You cannot please the minority, only aim to please the majority because that is where my favor lies. Some may be affected by my decisions, and if my choices are causing a disturbance I take time to step back and access the problem. How I am in my personal life should not dictate my ability to care for my citizens.
As to the religion, I never made any claims just that I was appeared pious as the Goddess. If I have offended thee because of that, I apologize.
If it is your wish to correct your own words, please, do so. Though it seems to me that you have never truly been in a position of influence yet. There is little mercy in the majority. And the minority that you speak of can have much greater influence than you believe. You will have to make choices that your people will suffer for, for the good of the majority. Yet they will resent you nonetheless. It is, as you say, “human nature.”

I have influenced those who are close to me and who follow my lead as the Princess. I must state that Dalmasca isn’t a monarchy and my title of princess is a figurehead title. I am simple the next in line to lead my company, such as Ffamran is once his father gives him the rights. Though, if I were the future Queen I am positive that my arrogance will be overlooked and the people will see that whatever decisions I make is for the good of Dalmasca not my selfish ideals.

"I-," Lenne toyed with one of her curls twisting it around her long fingers. "I'm glad you enjoyed the song." Her chocolate gaze met his and refused to look away. A lesser woman might have looked down or blushed but a High Priestess of Zanarkand was not a lesser woman and she was never without strength. She held her violin in her left hand the strings biting into her palm felt sharp and strangely pleasant. Familiar. The familiarity made her bold. The song that she'd played for him... how could he not understand?
"It was for you," she murmured reaching out to brush his cheek. "It was for you, Shuyin. I spent so long just trying to understand what my heart was trying to sing to me and now I truly do." For the first time in so very long a smile graced her lips, a true smile that lit up her eyes and softened the lines of her face. "I love you, Shuyin."

☞ - My character is genderbent for a day, how would he/she spend it?
Not a very nice story but if Lenne were male for a day, she would hunt down the men that attacked her when she was sixteen.
Other than that she'd just be like, "Cosmos, WTF?"
Music | Shuyin
Doublestops. Lenne tightened the coarse hairs on her bow carefully testing the tension against the polishing cloth in her hand. She knew better than to touch the horse hair with her bare skin. The oils on her fingers would turn them black and rotted. She opened her tiny box of rosin and ran it over the bow in long, smooth strokes, careful to coat it from frog to tip. She returned the rosin to her case and removed her violin and her chin rest. She slipped the chin rest into place and set the violin on her shoulder to tune.
The instrument was made from cherry wood and stained a dark burgundy that she loved. It was the same instrument her father had given her at thirteen when she’d finally been tall enough for a full sized instrument. Lenne pulled the bow across the strings with her right hand as she moved the fine tuners in bits until the sound was true.
Violin still tucked under her chin she opened her case and set it a few feet from her in a grassy area of the park. Let me play well, she thought and lifted her bow to the strings.
The busiest days were the hottest, this one in particular was proof of that. Though it was a latter time in the afternoon, the sun was still avidly pressing it rays against the already darkened skin of a blonde warrior who strolled the streets of Aphrodite with his shirt slung over a heavily scarred shoulder. More cargo than usual had come in this morning, which resulted in Shuyin hurdling himself into over drive to get a ship loaded it time for it to leave as scheduled. The task had been completed successfully, leaving him satisfied, as well as somewhat exhausted and very sweaty. Even now, enough perspiration collected over his figure to result in him shoving back drenched strands of sun bleached hair as he approached a street that marked only a block standing between him and the entrance of his home.
Since Yuna had come home, his mind was only set on spending time with her, which caused him gain a certain lack of interest towards others. Instinct was allowed to kick in, so while the athletic teen paid no mind to the people he passed, his body was sure to evade them as necessary. Due to his mind being so focused on the one task ahead, everything around him became a bit of a blur, resulting in the heightening of other senses, meaning that the violinist he was quickly coming upon had been heard a long while back. Now that it was almost near, he found his pace slowing and his vision coming back into play.
The tune was nearly perfected, if not flawless as it was, and Shuyin found himself stopping before a dainty figure with long curls of brown effortlessly gliding a bow across a stringed instrument as a crowd began to gather around.
Many used their talents in an attempt to capture those residing in the city of the Goddess, often being able to catch a few glances and stops, but this one. . she was drawing everyone in. Shirt in hand, Shuyin raised his digits to rest on his waist as he studied the young woman before him fading out of this world and into another all her own. He’d taken recognition of the bodies around him, but hadn’t really noticed the mass amount that had collected until the female had finished and a wild applause had erupted from behind.
The last note. Lenne raised her chin with her eyes closed as her wrist moved subtly to add the wavering vibrato that made the final sound both sweet and mournful. Rather than stop the note rang in the air as she lifted her bow just as she reached the tip. The sounds of applause and of coins clinking together as they hit her case were distant and lost as she heard that last not still in her heart.
She'd written that song for her father. As chocolate eyes fluttered open they met an azure sky just beginning to darken. Her audience dispersed as she breathed softly in and out in a regular pattern that fought her sudden impulse to weep. When finally she dropped her gaze it met first her violin case now quite full of currency notes and silver coins. A grateful expression crossed her face. She had made easily enough to repair her violin.
As she knelt before her case her gaze met the figure of a young man who lingered nearby despite the movements of the rest of her audience. She glanced up at him wide brown eyes taking in bronzed skin and blue eyes. Lenne bit her bottom lip. It was a habit that the Kingpriest in Zanarkand had never been able to rid her of just like her music.
She stood slowly violin in hand and tried her best to give this man a small smile. "May I help you with something," she asked softly. "Perhaps you would like to request a song?"
Character situation asks:

“What else can there be,” she says though without a smile to match his. “There is nothing more completing in this world than a love for music.” Training? Of course, the sword at his side now makes sense to her. “What do you attend school for?”
“What you’re doing now,” he retorts, smirking. “Human interaction. Music’s alright. The passion some people have for it is more appealing than its existence, in my opinion.” His teasing smile softly fades as he looks out the city. “Psychology is my major, though I minor in swordsmanship and summoning.” With this, he returns his gaze to her and quirks and eyebrow. “You’re sure there isn’t anything else you do, other earning tips on a street corner?”
"Passion is more appealing than music," she murmurers in a teasing tone. "To me they are often one in the same." A near smile touches her lips at his questioning. "I must support myself somehow. I sing at cafes often enough."
I forgot that I have yet to reply to Lenne’s little insult. Must not have been that important.
Arrogance is unbecoming. Aren’t you in a position of power? Are your people supposed to love a woman who acts as you do?

“School,” he answers plainly, folding his arms as he leans against one of the many random buildings standing around the two. “Helping fisherman get cargo onto their ships. Training on the outskirts when I have the time.” One corner of his lips perked to created a tilted smile. “And you? Other than playing violin, of course.”

Funny bit of information here. Kittie [Balthier] is actually a friend of mine from a camp that we go to EVERY summer. And that camp is happening again in like two days…

But anyways. I am going on hiatus until the third! I’m going to finish up some replies here soon and pack because we [the fam and I] have a lot of packing and driving to do tomorrow!
