Lamentation of the Sufferer 60 x 90 cm Acrylic on canvas

I am so excited to finally post this painting! This is the fifth painting and bottom row centerpiece for my project as well as my new favourite! I put so much effort and work into this painting and I am beyond happy with how it turned out. 💜 I know they did not really get to mourn the Sufferer's death in the webcomic, but I felt it was a fitting addition in the context of my project. Lamentation of Christ by Jacopo Tintoretto served as a reference for this one.

Last year, I stayed in Edinburgh for three months and did these complimentary/motivational sticky notes. Shortly after starting with these, I also decided to ask people with whom I shared the accomodations with what their favourite animal was and create notes from that (if I were able to find a pun to go along with it). The last one is an exception to that as it is more personal. 🐶 It certainly was a fun little project for the duration of my stay and I'm happy and grateful people seemed to like them as well. ❤ Unfortunately, I did not take the best pictures of these notes, so the quality is kinda bad here and there, but I did the best I could with what I had.

I've started working on this last year in November and sketched out like 32 of them in the same month still. Unfortunately, soon after things got really busy for a while and I had to put this on hold. But here we are! 50 drawings of this little guy! 🦘✨

Some were inspired by canon moments, canon outfits I wanted to put him in, and many are just things I did, because I thought they were funny or adorable! 💖

So here is something from a German Youtube series called "Songs aus der Bohne" that caught my interest last year. It's a very captivating, funny, and amazing series.

Among regular humans and a space crew from the future, it also features a set of brothers that act as the guardians of this world - one of them is this little guy: Fips, the Easter Bunny. He is probably the most insecure loser of the bunch, so of course my affections landed on him haha (I love him dearly)

I’ve been quite busy lately, but I wanted to share the absolute joy that was my paintings being featured at a month-long exhibition that was organized by my university in partnership with a center for the arts and creativity. I am quite fortunate they chose to feature these paintings again (as two of them were already at a similar exhibition last year, but the one in the center wasn’t finished in time for it to make it into that first exhibition as well). I am beyond happy I was given this opportunity to show these three paintings together and in their correct order, it really meant a lot to me. ♥

This time I also remembered to take a couple of pictures of the paintings only instead of just taking an excessive amount of selfies with them in the back lol

#photography continues to be not my forte pff #also very glad they hung them a bit higher than eye level in accordance with what this whole project is supposed to end up as #blurred the surrounding images bc it feels kinda inappropriate to feature them on a blog solely for my art idk idk #but this exhibition had so many cool and diverse artworks #this was for paintings only but there were so many techniques/approaches. from traditional paintings to digital ones and a mix of both.#it was certainly something #really enjoyed that a lot #my favourite however were paintings the size and shape of stamps with each of them having a bigger version painted on normal canvas #and then abstract paintings where parts of the canvasses were sewed together with other colored strips of canvas #as exhibitors we were also required to supervise the exhibition some time and the two times I did it were so pleasant #I even got to explain my project to two groups of people. that was so fun 🙈#also I fully intend to apply with this project at coming exhibitions as well.. but only if more paintings have been added since the last one #homestuck project

This was originally supposed to be a part of a series where I’d draw Dirk in a number of outfits I like, but I only ever finished a sketch of him being dressed like a waiter. After nearly 2 years of this project being a wip I don’t think I’ll return to it, not in the way I initially imagined it anyway, so I decided to at least clean up what I had. :’)

Had a day or two to myself, so I decided to do some warm-up by working on some of my wips before I start the sketch for my next painting. Before I could find the wip I was initially looking for I stumbled upon this from August last year though and found it to be 70% completed already, so I just decided to finish this instead. I kinda really like how it turned out 💜

Finished! This one is supposed to slightly visually connect to the Dolorosa painting, which I mainly tried by aligning the horizons and clouds as well as by using the same colors for the beach/rocks as I did for the desert in the Dolorosa painting. Logically, this doesn’t really directly connect to it since this scenery begins to enter sea dweller territory. Although by now I question if it wouldn’t have been better to actually be a continuation of Doloras’s landscape like the right wing will be of Signless’ landscape... But well, what’s done is done! Definitely looking forward to painting the right wing next!

Patton Sanders 60 x 50 cm Acrylic on canvas 2018

Back in 2018 I had this project planned where I’d paint a series of portraits of the Sides in a color scheme I drew from their associated color + outfits. So for instance, there’d be light blue, white, gray, and beige for Patton. (Yeah, I know it looks more like a yellow here. It seems like I just used colors as they came back then instead of putting in the effort of mixing the right shade like I do now lol) So at the end there’d be about 6 paintings: One of each Side (Remus wasn’t introduced yet) and one of Thomas, whose portrait was supposed to consist of the associated colors only.. just maybe with more nuances to have it really nice and colorful. Alas, I only managed to finish two paintings. The second painting is of Roman, but I feel pretty insecure about this one since one eye is off a few millimeters and at this point I don’t think I’m ever going to fix that, unfortunately.

I wasn’t even sure if I should upload the one of Patton, especially since I never completed the whole project, but I rarely ever paint portraits and I still like how this one turned out, so here it is after all. 💙
