It was on a Monday night, February 6th, 2006, in Ezra’s dorm room. There was no drum set, CT just had two drumsticks. Baio was playing bass through a guitar amp. Rostam was playing a Casio keyboard, the same one he plays until now. They played Oxford Comma and Walcott, went through a few songs that Ezra had a skeleton for and sort of arranged things and that was the beginning of the band.

Because I know there are people who say these things don’t happen. And their are people who forget what it’s like to be 16 when they turn 17. I know these will all be stories someday and our pictures will become old photographs. We’re all gonna be somebodies mom or dad, but right now, these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here and I am looking at her and she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you aren’t a sad story. You are alive. And you stand up and you see the lights on the buliding and everything that makes you wonder. We’re listening to that song on that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment, I swear, we are infinite.
