Rey grew up in an orphanage and had never met his biological parents.

When he turned six, he had been adopted by various people, but each time he was taken away, he would be returned back within three months on grounds that he was too unruly, rebellious and unmanageable.

Most of those who adopted Rey were people of high rank and influence, seeking attractive orphans to satisfy their various cruel desires.

Having experienced false parental affection on numerous occasions, Rey lost all hope in the process of the family.

When I was designing Rey, I spent hours agonising over his hairstyle. I’d sketch out random lines and drafts as I mulled it over, and eventually inspiration struck: I wanted a player with plaits, but not the traditional one. And the final design is now you see here.
