sky germany might be an on fire garbage bin, but every time they show sophie kumpen they mention that she used to absolutely wipe the floor with christian horner in karting and i respect them for it
the highs and lows of (almost) parenthood / frank langdon
part one - series m.list
next part (two) here!
summary: frank comes home after a long shift to a wonderful, unexpected, surprise.
tags: fluff!! (tooth-rotting), pregnant!reader, abby and kids do not exist, non-medical reader, telling frank that you're pregnant :')
────────────────────────────
Frank's shift had gone by incredibly slowly. There was a neverending influx of patients waiting to be seen, as usual, and he hadn't had time for even a sandwich. As usual.
So when the clock struck 7pm, he was the first to rush out of there, running to his locker to grab his bundle of clothes and get changed. Thanking God that there wasn't another emergency that glued him to the Pitt for longer than his scheduled hours, something that happened far too often. Charting was done, his patients had been handed over to the night shift, and he was beyond ready to leave, excited to get home to you.

imagine being dr baran al hashimi, and it's your first day at a new place of work taking over for the new attending, and you walk into this. the current attending is having suicidal destructive thoughts and making it everyone's problem, two of the residents are fighting about one of them stealing drugs from the hospital and having to go to REHAB, another resident getting YELLED AT in front of everyone by said crash out, the only person excercising mental health is mainly on the NIGHT SHIFT SO NO HELP TO YOU, no internet, diverted trauma patients from two hospital, ICE FUCKING SHOWS UP, a nurse assaulted, an abandoned BABY, and it's literally, your first. damn. day.
I love how Robby says "we're a safety net, and nets have holes" but then the entire episode is a love letter to nurses and how they keep patients from falling through the cracks. Dana immediately goes and interferes to make sure that Gus is admitted to the hospital. Perlah has the most emotional response to Louie's death, and it's the nurses who are all mourning his loss together. When Roxie is struggling with her bedpan and humiliated, Princess kindly reminds her that that's what she's here for. Dana and Emma take care of Louie's body and Dana tells Emma's that it's the last thing they can do for patients. When Joy asks Robby how Kim "already knows all that" he responds that "she just does" because she's an experienced nurse who knows what she's doing. They can't get an ASL translator so Princess tries her best with her less than perfect ASL just so a patient can know they haven't forgotten her. Donnie is taking time to teach the med students how to suture because he's better at it than the guy who's been a doctor for a week. Jesse immediately goes and gets Gus a drink because he's starving and holds the drink and straw for him. Princess comforts and holds the panicked sister of a patient as she worries about "what's wrong with him". And then, at the end, Emma holds Louie's hand because there's no one else there to hold it
How it feels to genuinely enjoy the Pitt and not get caught up on every little bad thing a character has done because they’re all complex human beings and none of them are truly evil like everyone in this fandom seems to think
Holding a human heart in your hands while looking your mom dead in the eye. Filming ICE & running off to post on your tiktok with thousands of followers so people see them arresting a fucking ER nurse. Comforting a family through the death of a loved one. fuck yeah javadi belongs in the ER
Drawing my goat
crazy how my happiness is dependent upon whether a man named oscar piastri gets to drive really fast on a loop in his stupid little car or not
"stress is very bad for you ☝️ and you're gonna die sooner if you have a lot of stress ☝️ so i'm gonna be 250 years old"
"you need to sleep, max!" "yes but i Also need to go faster ☝️"
So we're all gonna let the new Harry Potter show die on the vine, right? No hatewatching. No thinkpieces. No videos about how bad it is. Deprive it of oxygen and let it wither away unremarked-upon and unprofitable; make HBO lose their entire investment and prove to the corporate entertainment sphere that the entire IP is poison. And spend that time doing something that brings you joy instead.

what makes the pitt great is that i actually DO care about every character and their interactions and dynamics. i WANT to know what ogilvie’s deal is. i LIKE that robby is an asshole and a great doctor. i am ENJOYING the langdon/trinity tension. i think its INTERESTING that javadi hasn’t found her footing yet. that’s good tv!!!! yay!!!!!
