How do you suppose spell decks work in universe along with wands and spell books?
PROBABLY SOMETHING LIKE HOW THE ADS SHOWED...? perhaps different "spreads"??
that is to say -- i imagine something like this :o we sort of... hold them up in front of us, guiding our magic to choose the card we want. i like to think that all decks come with a predisposed "spell protector" spell, that way opponents cant cast anything towards our cards in a way to cheat.
AS FOR DECKS i imagine something like... being strapped to our legs? our hands and wrists reach around this area, so perhaps thats the fastest way to summon our deck. i think decks would also have some kind of click mechanism which allows us to take the top off so our spell cards can slide out easily.
also - i think each wizard would also place their own unique "deck lock" spell on their decks.
i also imagine they could get pretty creative :>
AS FOR WANDS
theres probably a flow of magic within the wizards body - and the wand is meant to be our conductor. technically you can use your hands to conduct spells, but it takes a toll on you physically - it can cause burns, as well as make your overwall spell strength and accuracy weaker. there are different types of wands to suit everyones needs :^0
SPELLBOOKS ARE EASY its everyones own customizable notebook for taking specific notes about their own spellworks and conducting spells. i imagine you can simply stick the new spell card you learned into your spell section and it will stick for good >:D
i also feel like the deck section of our spellbook is just the wizard drawing out magically what spells they would want in their deck at the moment
The most annoying conversation in Wizard City
Wizard101 and Pirate101 ocs because I am superior to everyone else, actually (real not fake)
On the left is Bex (she/her/ he/him) , a Theurgist. On the right is Orion (he/him) , a Privateer. they’re twins but they don’t know each other. Their parents were pirates who were killed by the armada, and so the two were separated from a young age. Orion was raised in Marleybone and later went on to join the resistance against the armada. Personality wise he’s quite greedy but does have a good heart and likes helping others. Bex rotated orphanages around the spiral before settling in Wizard City to study magic, even though he is a life wizard he regrets choosing this and now wishes she were a Necromancer instead. For personality she’s hopeful/optimistic but ultimately is quite lonesome, which isn’t great because being a solo Theurgist isn’t easy.
headcanons for the pigswick schools, and how they’re different from ravenwood - part 1
hi! this is something i've had in my drafts for uh, probably over a year? and i'm finally getting around to revisiting it! i'd like to eventually make a general post for my headcanons on pigswick itself as a school, but right now, i'm just going to go through my individual school headcanons, starting with a favorite of mine to theorize:
School of Ember -
the ember school teaches that fire is not to be used to maim or let loose, it’s meant for creation. it’s the sun that gives us life, a fireplace inside on a snowy night, the stoves we cook food with, the soft security blankets, the warmth inside of our chests that we feel when we’re happy.
the catch here, and one that a lot of freshman students struggle with at first, is that you can’t hide in that comfort zone forever. fire can hurt just as much as it creates, the sun can blind as much as it warms. patience and practice is the key to mastering ember magic. you’re not going to do things perfectly the first time, it’s okay. take a deep breath, feel the air flowing through you, calm your nerves. you can do this, don’t rush it.
the ember school is the main school in pigswick for learning healing spells. because of the way that it teaches its students to handle fire, they don’t really do much damage at all. ember magic rarely ever manifests as pure fire, or beings who summon it. when it does, you'll never see an experienced ember wizard letting it run wild.
like ankhu mentioned, ember wizards are not adventurous. they tend to be drawn towards the familiar and comfortable, and conflict can be very hard for them to handle. ember school students learn the importance of patience and moderation, to learn when to ask for help and when to try something on their own. it also kind of doubles as the home ec. of pigswick, where even if you come out of it not really wanting to be a wizard, you'll have learned a thing or two about how to bake a nice pie.
wiztober day 10 - rope
i wish i lived in wysteria
i would've studied at pigswick academy and participated in wizard tournaments. i would learn unique schools of magic that don't have firm established use and methods for the schools that ravenwood does. i would eat lunch with stuck-up pig children who bully me and then turn their shoes to ice with frost magic. i would go to the huge maze of a library every night. i am also more likely to meet the milf headmistress, handsome middle-aged earth professors, evil plant people, and giant elephants that want me dead.
i wish i lived in wysteria :(
getting back into pirate and noah fence but pvp players are insanely wild
on a "list of common mistakes pirate101 players make" include "choosing a pirate origin that doesn't give you a slightly better stat boost", and "not waiting to recruit companions until you're max level" idk how to tell you this, but outside of pvp stat maxing, this is just how people have fun with video games

You know while test realm is just hell and I wish to be free...this-this is the only thing that matters to me
w101 nuzlocke. if your wizard dies in battle you have to make a new one
Wizard101 Hardcore Mode
i do not like the main pirate101 wiki
like it’s fine if you’re only looking for very specific information about what items certain enemies drop but the whole thing is formatted so weird and unintuitively… i’d love if there was an alternative that was more user-friendly
relieved to see im not the only one who feels like this lol
the pirate101 central wiki is great in terms of a comprehensive encyclopedia of statistics, quests, stats, item drops, etc etc but thats really it. you want to read more about a specific character’s lore and backstory? you want to be able to find out what level a certain companion promotes at without jumping through several flaming hoops? you want to see a gallery of official art all in one place? sorry you’re outta luck
not trying to bash the central wiki of course, it’s a good resource for what it is but it seems misleading to call it a wiki because it isn’t really. it’s a raw strategy guide for more experienced players first and foremost. which, again, nothing wrong with that, it’s a useful resource if thats the kind of thing you need info on, which tons of people do. but it is not very helpful as a community resource about the entire game. the wiki’s also structured in a kinda confusing way and it’s difficult to find info if you don’t know what you’re looking for. and not to sound too high and mighty but i feel like the lack of an easy jumping-off point for pirate101 (which in my opinion isn’t even that complex of a game all things considered) definitely isn’t helping towards making the game accessible to prospective players. again this is NOT a dig at p101 central at all! i just think there’s still a niche that has yet to be filled here
woopsie got a little rambly there lol anyways. i will confess that this last week or two i have actually become interested in starting an alternative wiki for the game on fandom that fulfills the stuff i mentioned before. id love to make it a reality and have even been doing some test pages on a sandbox wiki i made to test the waters and it looks pretty good all things considered!
if people here would actually be interested in something like that or even be interested in helping add pages and stuff, then i’d be happy to get to work on making it a reality!
As the person who went every single NPC and creature page on the Pirate101 and Wizard101 central wiki for the Animals of the Spirals Series, yeah it would be very nice to have more lore and in-game plot points.
There’s currently a fandom wiki but it only has tiny pieces of lore scattered around, so maybe that’s a good place to start?
Also, if you want to ask me anything lore related to the animals in the game to put on a wik, just lmk!
forbidden secret wizard101 ending leaked.
love imagining like a life wizard serenading a death wizard and even though the death is trying to hide it, they’re hopelessly in love with them
