Saw a flying orange cat. 2017 off to an auspicious start.
We voted, and we lost.
It’s been a week since the election and for those of you that see the world through a lens similar to my own, you’ll probably agree that President-elect Trump’s victory still makes you pinch yourself. To be honest, it may actually make you do far worse, but there’s a lot of doom and gloom going around right now, so let’s not go there!
I have no sage words of wisdom, nor do I have any poignant political insight to offer. People far more intelligent than myself have written enough about how, why and what the f*#k happened, to keep you reading ‘til the next election.
That said, I will offer this: remember how you feel right now and give a small percentage of the next four years of your life to making sure on November 3rd of 2020, you don’t have that same feeling again.
Easier said than done, I know, but I’ll try and do my part if you’ll try and do yours. Deal?
We’ve opened the door to the darkness, so stay educated, stay vigilant, stay hopeful, and when in doubt, make great art!

Weird animals pictures are becoming a theme.
Or stay high. Either way, keep the positive vibes going.
While on a mini-tour of California, the ladies from Vanwave (who also happen to be dear to my heart) graced Fresno with a show at Dynamite Records. According to the band, it may go down as their most intimate gig of all time. Legend has it you could count the number of people in attendance for the Sex Pistols first show in Manchester on two hands. Perhaps these chicks will follow suit, and the handful that were present here in Fresno will be fortunate to say they were witness to something special. I for one, certainly will. Check out their tunes here and peep their upcoming show at the Independent in SF.
Fresno’s Game of Thrones.
No fucks given.
Busy working this weekend, but took a quick break to roll by the Pride Parade.
In places like SF or NYC, Pride is always fun, but these days it’s mostly just another reason to dance and get wasted. In places like Fresno where Bible thumpers come door-to-door, people burn crosses into their lawns, and most people carry guns, Pride is more than a party. People have a good time, no doubt, but those who come out and support this event are also making a statement about their freedom and right to exist.
The parade is small, but the message is as inspiring as anything you’ll see elsewhere.
