HSR Ponies!!!!

So far I’ve got the astral express down (might make a part 2 with chrysos heirs which is why evernight is not included for now!!) but I wanted to break down my reasonings for making each character the kind of pony that they are :)

Unicorns: Dan heng and Welt- dan heng’s maintenance of the archives really gives me twilight sparkle vibes and his ability to shift forms could be interesting in a magic context! and welt’s crazy black holes could definitely be powerful magic

Pegasi: March 7th and Himeko- these ones are a bit vibes based; march 7th is very carefree and i think she would love flying !! and on the other hand, himeko is very elegant and i think she would take flight very gracefully :) i used himeko’s new design because i really love it but i think both normal himeko and himeko nova would be pegasi (their base designs were a bit too similar to justify me drawing an entire extra model so i picked my favorite out of the two)

Earth ponies: Stelle and Caelus- they’re super versatile and i just feel like earth pony suits them! their strength comes from within in a way that unicorn or pegasus didn’t really fit in my opinion…

Alicorns: Imbibitor lunae and Sunday- both of them were in extremely prestigious leadership positions, so i wanted to encapsulate that. i gave dan feng a bit of an unconventional design because i wanted to still convey his dragon qualities, but overall being an alicorn really fits his status as high elder. meanwhile, sunday as the head of the oak family made sense to be an alicorn to me (in this scenario robin would be one as well). i feel like this also might be a status he would be uncomfortable with as he begins anew at the express, but it would be an interesting avenue to explore :)

I have a general idea of how I want to sort the chrysos heirs, but if anyone has any strong suggestions, please leave an ask or a reply ! :)) also I made their cutie marks their ult trace pattern icons for simplicity but if anyone has any alternate suggestions please lmk!

I think with Seth, Toby Fox gave us a character that actually talks about being non-binary for the first time. And that's good. Other non-binary characters in Deltarune are just too ignorable, it's really important for there to be one that outright says it's not a girl or a boy.

But I think considering Seth is the only such character, that we need another one that's more confident about being non-binary. That for them it's not just I don't know, it's a definitive I am non-binary.

Also maybe it's kind of a bit of a problem that this scene is so optional. Sometimes to be effective representation, these kind of things need to be unavoidable and unquestionable.
