I think it's really interesting how much Gallerian takes after Ma. From behavior to habits. The money hand sign is something he got from her. He starts using manipulation tactics to get what he wants like she does. Becomes obsessive with his goal and disregards morality. Harms people he loves if he has to. He even tries to smoke her pipe.
And at final, he takes up greed after her. As much as JoC is about Gallerian submerging into greed, it is also about Ma becoming more and more selfish for her goal. They both progressively lose their humanity. They both act out of greed, seeking out the vessels of sin for their own benefit. She truly shaped him to become just like her. Their dynamic drive me insane it's so sickening.
I definitely think Gallerians idolization of Ma is worth exploring more. It's sad to see the fandoms depiction of them to either just be weird, or disregard the characters to make Ma an abuser for the sake of it and Gallerian's only feelings towards her is that he hates her. There's definitely resentment within his feelings for her, but I think it's more complicated than that. And while I hate Ma, I don't think she should be used as a scapegoat.
It's interesting too that both of Ma's children become really horrible people. She's creating monsters like she herself is or something.
Greed Arc Height Comparison
Michelle, Nemesis and Nyoze are estimated heights, having compared them to other characters. I wanted to do Gammon too but I couldn't find any full body picture of him standing next to anybody. The other ones are canon.
Headcanon that Nemesis is that short due to malnutrition as a child, and Michelle having been born premature which later caused a stunted growth.

Its really interesting to me how many of the deadly sin contractors are shaped by romantic pursuits & such. oftentimes their Partner is the first person who really treats them well, eh?

I can not take his character seriously, nor do I understand why he exists in the first place. Like yeah here have a talking tiger. Is Gallerian a Disney princess or something?
Like genuinely what does he serve to the plot? All I can think of is that he's placed into some scenes to bring up the world breaking rule. He doesn't have any defining role in PN either. He was a commander for Police Neutrality, I guess? Still I feel like his character is very weak. And as I said, it's hard to take his character seriously. It breaks my immersion everytime he walks in to say something. Like ok there's a tiger here.
There's no way mothy was sober when he wrote him. He could have just written him to be a human who has animal features, like ears and a tail, and not a literal tiger born from a human who later has his own children together with a human. It's insane how the tiger has the most game in PN.
Also, I might read into it too much, but it feels a little racist? Since he's one of the only Chinese characters, yk.
And sorry Feng I might be a little discriminatory against you too calling you a tiger when you wanna be seen as a human. I think that sentence sums up my thoughts though.
I imagine Gallerian must be very annoying on vacations. He'd just stress through everything. Makes a whole list of things they're gonna do throughout the day. Leaves no time to rest. He wants to max his vacation time as he rarely get days off, but he just ends up doing the same things he does at work and then feels more exhausted than before the vacation.
Me and zuzumatsu had a conversation about Lilith. Something Lilith getting brainwashed to lose her personality and become a docile slave for Ma being lobotomy allegory something something.
I imagine that's what Hanma told people publicly to cover up Ma kidnapping Lilith.
Lilith makes me sad. A child being reduced to a doll for 40+ years. She was all alone. And her being Rilianes reincarnation just makes it sader. If I was Riliane I would be fuming
Having a fixation on greed arc means caring about side characters who appeared like once. I love you Polina Marchef.
I imagine Gallerian saw her a lot as a motherly figure. But also, Polina got married and has another family. I don't think they would appreciate that the child of another man started getting too comfortable living in their house. Not to mention that Polina might be accused of being his actual mother, as she once was serving Gallerians father. When he lived with Polina it was probably very formal and an uptight environment. He refers to her by "Mrs" after all.
Here's some little details in JoC and tMoN that I really like
There's a false credit roll in JoC after Gallerian burns away in the mansion which is interrupted by the slam of a gavel, more specifically, his gavel. He won't let his story end even in death, and he wants to be the one to pass the final judgment on himself.
JoC ends in an abrupt pounding of a gavel. The instrumental of TMoN ends with Nemesis firing the bullet, but after that there's a prolonged silence with her final line. Nemesis is alone again.
The irony of Nemesis calling Gallerian "son of a bitch", unknowingly insulting Ma.
The HER in MOTHER being in red.
In the frame of Nemesis pointing a gun, her left eye is covered, alike how Gumillia's mask is missing an eye and Gallerians eye in his iconic 👌image has a shadow over his eye. I think it partly represents blind justice. But blind justice is having both eyes covered, so their justice still has bias with their right eye not being covered. It also represents the eye of Horus.
The cover on Nemesis's left eye disappears when she has made her decision to kill Gallerian. Both her eyes are also covered when she's asking him to hand over his fortune.
Nemesis mask is essentially the blindfold the goddess Nemesis wear.
The strings of coloured light when Gallerian falls to hell being all the vessels he collected.
I don't this means anything, but the songs are almost the same length. Nemesis is just a few seconds longer: 5:01 , 5:04
At the start of JoC, the background colour is changing in between yellow, orange and pink. Not sure if it means anything but worth to point out?
The soft instrumental in JoC when Gallerian is with "Michelle".
When Gallerian has his eyes open, "Michelle" had them closed, and when Gallerian closes his eyes, "Michelle" had them opened - showing the two different realities inside the delusion.

How it feels headcanoning Evillious characters as LGBTQ honestly
I feel like there is a huge part of JoCs story that is missing, and that is how Gallerian got to the position of Head Judge - as well the lack of struggle getting there.
We get to know so little about the DSB work environment despite that being a central part of the story. We know that Hanma ensured that Gallerian could get in and have a position, and then we are let known that the person who took the head judge's seat after Hanma favored Gallerian.
But I feel like we are losing a lot of struggle in this story. The only real obstacle along the way was Loki. And we do know that DSB had multiple corrupt officials and anti witch extremists, one of them being Hodr who was a high ranking judge and tried to oppose Gallerian being selected in for work.
Hodr, and all other people like that, kind of just disappear from the story. Everything just goes on way too easily, and the story is left full of plot holes.
Gallerian just imprisoned the son of the most affluent family in society at age 18 and he just goes on without any backlash? Like yeah, sure, the Freezis family disowned Loki. But are they not worried about how the guy who got him imprisoned is climbing the ranks of the justice system that they wanted Loki to have control over? A pretty woke guy at that, who is opposing their conservative views? It just doesn't make sense why they would let him off the hook.
Back to the anti witch extremists. It takes two years for Gallerian and Ma to clear the names of "witches". But why is no one conspiricing that Gallerian is working in favour for witches to hide the fact that they might exist? Hanma is found out to be "Elluka's" accomplice and targeted by the World Police. Hanma flees the Bureau and... Hey wait? Who else disappears without a trace the same day? Why wouldn't it be Ma who just so happens to look exactly like Elluka. It's almost as if DSB has photos of Elluka. Not even Gallerian or PN can put two and two together about how Hanma and Ma's dissapearence might have something to do with each other. And Hanma literally used magic against the World Police... That literally proves that magic exists and what Gallerian and Ma worked on is false. And no one points this out and no one suspects that Gallerian might also be an accomplice. "Hey man, wasn't it weird how Gallerian convicted Ma innocent some years ago and Hanma DIDN'T fire him over it?"
No one suspects a thing? Oh, ok. And the woke Gallerian in the very conservative society and system can just continue to climb the ranks no problem? Oh, sure!
There's just so many things in the first half of JoC that don't make sense. I understand the story might become too long to include a lot more than it does but still... This bothers me so much.

I feel like many people confuse "Gallerian grew up with financial struggle" as him being literally poor. That's not the case, according to the English translation.
"Almost all of the students that attended Levin University were raised in affluent families. Gallerian wasn’t an exception to that, but in truth, despite the pedigree of the Marlon family line his household wasn’t one that had a lot of means, financially speaking (at least, compared to the other students)." -Ep1 Sc4
The Marlon family was once royals, then progressively loses status by the generations. They still have enough status to be somewhat respected, but financially you could say they have dropped to middle class.
Gallerian didn't have to eat crumbs as a child. They just had to be stingy and prioritize cheaper alternatives so Gallerian could afford going to university. Gandalf quit working a stable job (as specified in another paragraph, he didn't take on any "real work") and they lived on savings. But the fact that it specifies "compared to the other students", those students being from rich families, means he wasn't poor. Just enough for him to struggle with keeping status and root his later greed.
I really dislike when people get into Evillious seeking a pairing that aligns with their vocaloid ship. You can't expect your vocaloid ship to have a decent pairing in this series. I really love mikurin for example, but there's no mikurin in Evillious (except if I maybe crossship like... Rin-chan x Michelle or something).
A lot of people just end up pairing two characters together for their appearance and disregarding everything about the characters. And sure, people can do whatever they want. But I'm still annoyed with it. I feel like people take canon Evillious as something optional.
There's some Kyle x Michaela shippers on tiktok who ship it because it's kaimiku. And it's just blatant homophobia, and also just reducing Michaela in favour for a man. I just know that those people just see her as an object for Kyle.
