Reformed version! After prom, with Viviana trapped in the book, Lovecraft is placed as principal. He's lucky enough to find the artifact that she used to keep everybody at Kade so that he can keep running things semi-smoothly. He's actually quite a good principal. Wendy survives, barely, and Lovecraft makes the decision to try and rehabilitate her one last time.

You could say she gets what Viviana promised, because Lovecraft keeps her existence hidden from pretty much everybody. She takes classes by herself and lives in the forest slightly off-campus. Nobody knows she's still alive except Sam, Sera, and Akuma. Sera only knows bc of divine sight, Sam and Akuma were for exposure therapy. For the record, Sera very much hates Wendy, she's not happy that Wendy survived, but Lovecraft spoke to her and made her swear to keep it secret. Now if Sera keeps that promise is up to her bc she prolly doesn't care enough to.
Most of Wendy's clothes were destroyed when the Void ravaged the dorm building, so she had to get a new wardrobe, or fix what she can. Lovecraft lets her wear whatever she wants, sort of discourages her from wearing any Kade uniforms, but she salvages her old uniform and puts the symbol on her new vest.
The void leaves her with a lot. Some extra eyes on her neck/down her back, a broken mask, a torn ear, several scars. She's still fierce and sometimes rude, but she makes a huge recovery before returning to kade officially.
I think the void entity would work cooler as a parasite, it asks for permission sooo much and for what?? I think needing a willing host works better narratively for it. Anyways for myyyy little au, Wendy gets her own body, with her whole conscious and everything, just with all her other emotions suppressed. This works out for the Void because now it has a "willing" host, plus a dog for the dirty work of actually killing all the students. (more yap under cut)
Wendy on the other hand still has her other emotions, they're just stuck with her original body. So if she was in a situation were she would feel sad or happy (Realizes what she's doing is wrong and would be upset for agreeing, or at the beginning when she's having the thrill of the hunt) the emotions would be "felt out" but in her original body, resulting in random bursts of hysterical emotion on the parasite's end and a bone-chilling constant rage from Wendy.
There is actually a third, much BIGGER version of the void demon, which acts uhh sort of like a titan from aot. I actually have a sketch from my war! animation that p accurately shows it i think .
So there would be three hosts, Wendy, in charge of just causing chaos and killing people, the "Parasite", using Wendy's body, and the "Void", which is a manifestation of all the mass left over from the void turned into a monster dead-set on destroying the school.
The possession would last a few hours, Lovecraft fighting the parasite while the other two just sorta run rampant. Instead of lovecraft being stuck in the book, Viviana is, so the spell keeping students inside the school is sort of stuck being up until she gets out. As promised, a lot more monster-in-a-maze vibes! Wendy hunting prey and, not quite killing, but certainly getting revenge on those who "mocked her". She can't be reasoned with in this state.
There would be a bit of a plot about which host has the book (like ep2 with the amulet) with Rev most likely thinking that the parasite has it, then the big guy, until discovering it was stuck with Wendy, and insert big apology scene where he gets some character development but still acknowledges that she took it too far, some "you can fix this" esc stuff maybe. He can be the hero but at the end of the day it is still up to her whether she changes or not.
This whole time Wendy is having a horrible time. Like, yeah, finally won, getting everything she deserves, but she is literally stopped from feeling good about it entirely. She'd be mad at everybody else and then mad at herself and trying to get out of it by hurting more people. So the emotions the parasite would feel as the night progresses are happy - confused - mad - furious - and continue being mad until she eventually gives up the book and returns to her body when the parasite is forced out.

With JSaB being my proper introduction to tumblr fandom all the way back in 2019 and what made me REALLY kickstart my passion for designing characters and writing deeper stories, I wanted my piece to represent how my designs evolved and my art improved— i really think JSaB was the start of a lot of things for me.
