So if you're in the Dandy's World fandom right now I'm sure you are very familiar with the massive elephant taking over half the room that keeps taking massive dumps all over the carpet. For my own sanity I'm just going to see if Qwel will actually address it or vaguely gesture to it again before going on her merry way like the elephant isn't still in the room but having moved an inch across the floor while the door is still clear on the opposite end of the room. If you haven't been informed of the situation (somehow), the twisted-of-the-day gimmick account has the info where you lovely people can become informed on the shit show found [here] and [here] as of currently writing this. I am not the person to give the details unfortunately.
What I'm actually going to address is how the fandom is reacting to it; in specific whether they're going to stay in the fandom and make content for it, play the game, engage with fellow fans, and whatnot.
To me, I think Dandy's World has become more than the game on roblox (that fucking platform that I hate). Honestly the fandom itself has become more enjoyable than the game. You all are such creative people, creating stories and AUs, fancharacters and headcannons. It upsets me how what has and is happening is changing how some of you perceive your own creations. It hurts and it sucks, it's like you're endorsing the behavior of Qwel and Rox in a weird, fucked up way; like we approve of them hurting and continuing to hurt people. Look, no one could foresee where we are now. You didn't know what Rox was doing before he was called out, you didn't know what Qwel was doing before she was called out. Don't let them stain how you perceive your own work because that is still you. The characters they made belong to Blush Crunch. Even the OCs Qwel reused for the game like Glisten and Goob.
Your creations within the fandom are still yours. It's ok to still create and be inspired by this fandom we share. Be inspired by the people next to you, the friends you made here, the memories of the massive fucking rock dog spotting you from clear across the room and charging at you with the wrath of a thousand gods while you scream bloody murder with your friends on discord call. Watching you all stand by the victims proves you don't agree to them being wronged in terrible ways and want justice for their pain. You don't have to like the creators to like a fandom because a fandom is more than who created the source material. It's all of us gathered together over a shared interest. You are not necessarily a bad person for liking something because that something is yours too.
My own recommendation for all of us to have our voices heard is to continue boycotting the game. Don't attack those who still play it, they are likely much too young to be involved with all this. Just hold out at least for now. They can't ignore and sweep that elephant under the rug if that targets the player count and thus their earnings. Joey (the President of Blush Crunch) has talked about the team looking for a resolution in a resent post on Discord but I personally am waiting for an actual, satisfactory resolution to happen before dipping into the game again and I can only recommend you do the same if you are willing.
Stay safe you amazing people. Keep creating and don't let this taint your work. You are still a good person š
