When you’re taking oxy for pain as opposed to recreation, you don’t get high. Maybe once out of twenty times so you feel any under-the-influence effects. When you take it for pain, its only effect is cutting pain. And even then it doesn’t take away all the pain. The overwhelming amount of people who use it recreationally resulted in it being a very controlled substance so people who need it for pain can’t get it easily. When I’m shaking in pain because a doctor is not allowed to fill my prescription over the phone and I’m out of any pills I’m not going to want to bond with your high ass. Fuck off and get your kicks some other way.
you have pain, we have addiction. don’t act so superior when all we are is suffering from a disease just like you.
Replying to the OP: you are an uneducated asshole. My addiction started by being (overprescribed) pain pills, for legitimate pain. Now I deal with broken bones, fibromyalgia, and Tourette tic that leave my body in so much pain I can barely move. However, once you get help, you're in a hospital system as an addict and doctors won't prescribe narcotics, the only effective form of pain control for anyone who has taken narcotics for an extended period of time. Nothing is more frustrating than a doctor telling you he isn't comfortable treating your broken leg and three broken ribs because you had a problem in the past. You are no longer treated as a human. You are no longer treated with any respect or decency. So congrats on being in pain and being able to control it. Some of us are in stabbing pain constantly and doctors do nothing. So fuck off, you superior shit.
What if my problem wasn’t that I don’t understand people but that I don’t like them? What if I was the kind of person who was obliged to hurt you for this? I mean physically. I think you’d have to believe afterward, if you could, that agreeing to participate and then backing out at the critical moment was a mistake. Because that’s what I’m telling you, as clearly as I can.

What I couldn’t say in public is a series of images exploring anonymous confessions and secrets from all ages of people. The confessions and secrets are posted and left in public places for people to view.
i. “Some days I miss being a drug addict. At least then my life had purpose.” ii. “I’d rather go to their funeral than their wedding.” iii. “I lied. I do love him.” iv. “I fucking despise myself.” v. “I still regret telling my parents they’re the reason I tried to kill myself.”

In terms of reality, I am fully aware that I've been living in a fantasy world, romanticizing everything and everyone, every moment of the past in frequent yet fleeting thoughts. It was yesterday that I felt so strongly a surge of happiness at the sight of migrating birds in their V-formation, free yet so uniform in nature, that my eyes brimmed with what had become an unfamiliar salty, moisture presence. Those are the most treasured times, when the feeling of being alive and wild is so overwhelming it physically escapes me.
