    Hearing that Rapunzel was doing well was a good start for their night, and the fact that she had a story for her too just added to her excitement. They frequently would air their complaints about life the later the night went on, and a couple of those problems have been centered on boys, but thankfully not all of them.

     Moving behind Rapunzel and putting a couple of the drinks in the fridge, “Oh, ya’know, the usual BS; professors assigning more and more papers conveniently all due on the same week, and then Lance just swoops on in and tries to flirt…to be honest Lance has been a good distraction.” A smile appeared on Lucy’s face.

    Lucy took out two of the hard lemonaids that she had bought and handed one to Rapunzel, “Gonna start light tonight, because I have a feeling I know who the story’s about,” Lucy winked at Rapunzel and moved to sit on the couch and waited for her friend to join her.

    Rapunzel couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the mention of Lance and his flirting attempts with Lucy. It was a common occurrence and honestly one of the best stories to hear. “Lance is one of the best distractions out there, he always knows how to make people laugh and rid us of any stress thanks to school. Honestly, he’s one of my favorite freshmen.”

    She shrugged her shoulders slightly as she took the offered hard lemonade reply with a small thank you as she opened it and took a drink from it. She felt a little bad that Lucy could already tell that her story was going to be about Flynn, but Lucy was the only one she could ever trust with the topic of the most sought after guy in their university. She was one of the few who had never fallen for the smoulder, so she felt safe talking to the other blond.

    “Yup, to nobody’s surprise, one Flynn Rider has driven me insane once again with his dashing good looks and ability to attract almost any being that walks on two legs, monkeys included.”

Attention perking, Eugene raised his eyebrows  as he looked at Rapunzel. How long had she been there watching him flirt? It didn’t matter much because it wouldn’t have made any difference with now and his outcome of his flirting shenanigans. 

“Did I say something wrong?” he asked. Brown eyes narrowed together as he studied Rapunzel in an attempt to gauge her reaction. Eugene wasn’t entirely sure what he had said. But her words seemed like there was something more that she wanted to say, but wasn’t saying. And for a guy who didn’t want to get too far into it, miscommunication would have made the situation worst. And the last thing Eugene wanted was some sort of issue with Rapunzel.

“Listen, blondie, you shouldn’t look too far into it,” he said, straightening his posture as he rested his feet flat against the ground. “Like don’t get me wrong, you’re very good looking. Like very.” Eugene’s crossed towards one another as he said that. It was okay to admit that to your friends, right? 

“It’s just… like… I already tried flirting with you and it kinda backfired,” he admitted, scratching the side of his nose. “I’m not really the type of guy to pursue someone once it fails because… y’know… there’s plenty of fish in the sea and everything.”

    The moment Flynn had shown concern, Rapunzel had instantly felt bad for asking such a question. Yeah she was curious but as he went on to explain he had already tried flirting and she hadn’t even batted an eyelash, though to be fair she had assumed he was just being friendly cause of her cursed shelter life before she had gone to college.

    She couldn’t help but cover her face with her hands, she felt so horrible for having asked and should have just accepted that she was lucky enough to be different than the other girls to the point of being able to call him a friend and get more than just random dates with him. And honestly that was all she could ask for with how much attention Flynn could get with his looks and flirtatious ways.

    “Oh gosh....I’m sorry if I worried you with that question! I’m perfectly fine promise! Well....not fine since I do feel bad for worrying you, but other than that I’m dandy!!” She tried to give him the best smile she could as she stood up and moved to sit next to him.

    “Although, you might give up a little too easily after one rejection. I don’t think you’ll ever be able to find the one if you don’t try more than once with people.” She winked at him playfully before nudging his arm slightly. “I’m waiting for the day you get all gushy about a guy or girl you know.”

Roll the Dice! || Rapunzel & Varian

     A new passion was starting for Varian, and he couldn’t stop talking about it to Lance while on his shifts. While Varian knew that hearing about the same thing over and over again can annoy people and he should calm down with talking about it, but he just couldn’t stop talking about Dungeons and Dragons!

     As he rode the bus to the mall, Varian re-watched the latest episode of Vital Roll, a DnD Twitch show that he had found recommended to him while he was watching another stream, and all of the emotions that he felt when he first watched it came rushing back.

     Feeling his eyes sparkle as he entered the mall, “Maaan! How come I’ve never heard about DnD before!? This game it totally awesome!”

    Varian knew that there was a game store in the mall that sold some DnD things, and his walking pace getting to it was way faster than anyone else. Entering the game shop, Varian quickly darted to the board game section and saw that the DnD section was still stocked up.

     Moving past the random game magazines, Varian darted towards the DnD books. He saved a good bit of money for a couple of the books, so Varian immediately grabbed a copy of the Player’s Handbook, the Dungeon Master’s Guide, and the Monster Manuel.

    Varian noticed someone also looking at the DnD book and couldn’t help but start talking, “U-Um, hey! Are you also a DnD fan?”

    Rapunzel had a passion for trying new things at least once, she didn’t want to live her life thinking that she had missed out on something she could have possibly enjoyed and so when something new presented itself, she dove head first into it. How she had found out about DnD, she couldn’t remember exactly but she wanted to look into, figure out what exactly it was, and see if she would enjoy it.

    It was how she had found herself at the game shop looking around at all the things they had in it’s section. There was so much, so many different books, different dice, manuals. There were different editions for certain books, there were little baggies, tokens, etc. She felt slightly overwhelmed and unsure on where to even start, maybe she should ask someone for help?

    As she thought that, a voice suddenly spoke out to her and she turned towards the boy, a small uncertain smile crossing her face as she turned to face the books as she answered him.

    “Well.....I don’t know if I would call myself a fan since I’ve never played before, but I’m really interested in trying it out.”

The Stonerock Mentor Program was supposed to act as a guide between older students and the freshman starting off at the college for the first time. Admittedly, Haruhi was disinterested in joining. But with her unwillingness to initiate most conversations, preferring to sit in the solace of her solitude, she (and her floor’s RA) decided that this program might be for the best.

The campus was massive, and Haruhi admittedly got lost looking for Rockside’s Theatre. Her brow furrowed in frustration as she continuously glanced at the map that had been given to her, yet she was still finding herself getting lost. After what felt like ages, she had finally maneuvered around campus and found the building. All she had to do was find the room number; which took more time. But finally she, one again, she found the room and saw a blonde haired girl sitting inside. Haruhi took a deep breath and opened the door.

“You’re Rapunzel, right?” she asked. She gave a small smile as she slid into the adjacent seat. “I’m Haruhi, your mentee for the cross-campus mentor program. Sorry that I’m late. I’m still trying to find my way across campus,” she said, lowering her head as her cheeks flushed from her embarrassment.

    Rapunzel was excited for this mentor program, it was a fun easy way to meet students from the sister campus that wanted to be involved in cross school activities. She remembered when she was a freshman and had meet her senior through this program, it had proved to be so much fun and she had formed a close bond with the older girl. Now she hoped she could do the same with whoever she was paired with!

    “Yup Rapunzel, that’s me!” When the door had opened, she had quickly turned to look at the short haired girl with a bright smile, nodding her head at her question. “You don’t have to worry about being late! Things happen and it’s completely understandable!’

    She knew from experience just how confusing the campus could be, after all she still got lost sometimes and it was simply only due to the two campus being so close together.

    “So Miss Haruhi, why don’t you tell me about yourself and what you’re hoping to gain from the mentor program?”

    “Oh.....I see.” She replied softly as she turned away from him. She wasn’t really sure what else she could say to him, he wasn’t a student at her university so she didn’t really have the right to reprimand him for not following the dorms rules. “Er, well I’ll have to ask you to leave the dorms at least”

Eyes snapping open, Eugene’s arms flailed as he tried to sit up. Rapunzel’s question had caught him off guard, and it wasn’t anything that he had expected. They had been friends for a while, great friends for a while, in fact. But the idea of flirting with her had been an idea of the past that he had only initially acted upon. Now, he couldn’t break that boundary. “Flirt… with you?”

And why should he? There was a whole sea of girls (and the occasional guy) that he could drop a flirt with. It wasn’t too often that the one Eugene Fitz- Flynn Rider allowed himself to open up to someone. And it wasn’t too often that he actually considered someone as attractive and bubbly as Rapunzel as a friend and not someone who he could woo.

“Listen, blondie, it’s contemplated,” Eugene said, rubbing the back of his head. It wasn’t too much of a complication, but it still would’ve been a bit of an over-explanation. And he wasn’t ready to open this can of worms. “Why the sudden curiosity?”

    Rapunzel wasn’t sure how he would react to the question, but a part of her was still somewhat hurt by the surprised reaction and reply he had given. Why had he reacted like that? Did the idea of flirting with her rub him wrong? But why?

    She was so curious as to why but she also didn’t want to push him to answer, and she wasn’t sure how she would react to it. She was terrified to find out that he wasn’t attracted to her in that sense or that he didn’t think she was cute or something. Why that bothered her she wasn’t sure, she should be relieved that he wasn’t attracted to her in that sense since he was one of her closest friends and she wouldn’t want to ruin that in anyway. But he was stupid attractive and she would be lying to herself if she said she wasn’t interested.

    “I see....the curiosity only came when I watched you flirting with that girl just now. The thought just popped in my head for some reason and I thought I’d ask to figure it out.” She shrugged her shoulders as she got up to stretch a little.

A Fun Night || Lucy & Rapunzel

    It was Friday night and Lucy was in her most comfortable clothes: a pair of old sweatpants, a baby-powder blue croptop, and her hair was in loose twintails. During most nights Lucy would still be in her jeans and a normal shirt still working on homework, but she managed to get a majority of the work during the day so she could relax for the weekend…especially since Rapunzel was coming over to drink and hangout.

     Taking her phone out, “Huh, I wonder when she’ll get here- oh! Speak of the devil,” as soon as Lucy wondered when her friend would arrive, she heard a knock at her door.

     Opening the door, Lucy saw the familiar long blonde hair of Rapunzel standing in the doorway. She had met Rapunzel during her Winter semester of freshman year due to being in the same major. The pure energy that Rapunzel emanated drew Lucy to her and they just…clicked!

     “Hey Rapunzel! How’re you doing today girl!?” Lucy smiled wide at seeing her friend and let her into the apartment.

    Rapunzel had been more than excited to be hanging out with Lucy that night. She had needed a girls day desperately to destress and just let loose without a care. Lucy was one of the few people she trusted to take care of her when she decided to drink, Flynn being the second person though she’d prefer to drink around him more during parties than just with each other just because she didn’t really trust herself too much.

    It hadn’t taken her long to get to Lucy’s place luckily, and it hadn’t taken Lucy long to open the door for her as soon as she knocked. She smiled brightly at the blonde in front of her and held up the bag with drinks she had just bought for the night.

    “Hey Lucy~ I’m somehow living despite the stress of classes.” She replied with a small sigh as she made her way into the all to familiar apartment and straight to the kitchen to put the drinks down. “Do I have a story for you girl, but first, how have you been? Did you have an easy week with classes?“
